Always a good sign when a restaurant is full of locals. You walk in and seat yourself and the friendly staff will give you menus. The special that day was fried chicken, kind of sad I missed the beans and cornbread special, but breakfast was amazing. Got the stacker on of the fluffiest biscuits I've ever eaten split open topped with over medium eggs and smothered with cheddar and sausage gravy with a mountain of crispy home fries. They were more like super thick potatoes chips, lots of crispy with a little fluff. So good for sopping up gravy and egg yolk. For sweet treats they had pancakes and french toast, and I recommend getting the blackberry syrup and whipped cream on them. The decorating of the place seems stuck in time, but so are the prices, it's a small town gem that supports the community but they seemed happy to have us visiting as we were with the food and service.Parking: Gravel lot and street parking.

Great small town Cafe, very much a "mom & pop" type atmosphere with great comfort food including homemade pies & cakes. Located near hocking hills state park. Very reasonably priced home cooked food.Vegetarian options: Kinda scarce.... this is more a meat and potatoes place

Great food, great prices. Good portions. The roast beef in my hot beef sandwich was thick and chunky, from a roast and not thin lunch meat. Hubby had a nice thick tomato on his burger. We both ate for $20

Absolutely wonderful diner! Food was excellent and waitresses were so friendly. Prices are very reasonable. The Pie is too die for! Best pie I've had in years. Highly recommend this mom and pop diner! Will be back!

My review of Village Cafe is that being a 1st timer here with my mother, I myself experienced a wonderful country atmosphere where you see the old timers sitting having a cup of coffee and telling each other about their crops or a ballgame that they watched the night before. It brought a lot of memories back of my childhood & the diner my papaw would take me to as a child, You just don't see these kind of places that have a Mayberry kind of feel to them any more, Our service was impressively splendid, Biscuits and Gravy was so good just like grandma's, The best french toast and big portion that will fill a hungry man up on Saturday morning. So, If you're in the area you must stop in & enjoy some of that country home cooking. Hat's off to Villiage Cafe & this is my 5 star Review.

The food is excellent, generous servings, very reasonable prices and this definitely has the small town, vintage diner atmosphere. No worries if you come in your hiking clothes or jeans. This is a must stop any time you are in the area. Easy parking in the side lot. Hot dogs and corn dogs on the menu if you have your kuds with you. The menu is surprisingly large and all of it is hometown, comfort food! Highly recommend tbe turkey club, the ruben (wow!!) And the roast beef sandwhich with mashed potatoes and gravy!!!

My fiancé and I were on a trip to hocking hills and we’re staying in the area. Previous guests of our air bnb recommended we come here. It was so tasty and was a great meal before a day of hiking. Highly recommend coming here!

We ate here today, not the first time. We were at the car show. Had lunch, then came back afterwards and had dinner. Roast beef was so tender, very good. My husband had chickennuggets. Good chicken but a bit too crispy. But the pies, oh my, delicious! Whoever bakes the pies have our votes!! He had pumpkin and I had coconut cream. Best pie in awhile! Please tell me they were made from scratch. They didn't taste like anything but homemade! And the service was good!😋❤

We got the tenderlion special tonight. It was burnt and tasted nasty. The dressing and mashed potatoes were not very good either. I will never eat there again. The cook that was there, said it was made in the morning. They just lost my business. The server was great and it wasn't her fault. She we weren't the only one to complain about the tenderloin tonight

Portions were huge. Home fries tasted just like mom's. My OM eggs were perfect, which doesn't always happen. There were 2 of us and we split a large biscuits and gravy. A small order would have been big enough to split. Hometown atmosphere.

Cute little restaurant with inexpensive but delicious food. I had the fried bologna with hot pepper cheese and cheese fries. The sandwich hit the spot! Service was a little slow but the waitresses were friendly. Who's in a rush on a beautiful Sunday afternoon though? 🙂

Came here for breakfast with my wife. It was a favorite of hers growing up so she wanted me to try it, and I was really happy I did. The food was great and it came out fairly soon after our order despite it being busy. The home fries were especially delicious. The staff was also very friendly and made sure to keep my wife's coffee filled the entire time. It's an old-style country diner. They absolutely nail that style of food and I would totally recommend it to anyone.

The food at this location was quite tasty, and the tea was very well balanced. The pancakes are the size of a small child, so be cautious when ordering. The reason for the four stars is that the decor and such could be seriously updated. It wasn't very inviting on the outside and for someone like us who were just visiting, we almost turned around. We're glad we didn't, though.
