Excellent service and selection every time I go in. I especially appreciate that the reptile enclosures are always clean and the reptiles look very well cared for. If you are looking for a variety of insects then look no further.

I have been a customer here for years and have always loved the environment from the moment I walked in the door. The employees have always been very welcoming and knowledgeable, and I would even say happy about working there. In the past, I’d say 8-10 months, general management has changed and even more recently had changed again. Since the second change, this store has been rapidly declining. Sally is an absolute piece of work. I would not recommend shopping at this location nor recommending any of your friends or family to work there unless you want to be treated like a number on a piece of paper. It is sad to see major corporations like this decline from poor management.

A lady by the name of bonnie helped me with the purchase of my new fancy parakeet. She did awesome answering all my questions, was very friendly and helpful. Ok variety of pets, but the pets all seem to be healthy and happy. The sales are good deals and the place is very clean and stocked. Definitely going back for any other pet needs.

Me and friends come here a lot to see the different dogs and pets. They have a great variety of dogs, birds, rabbits, and hamsters. Staff is always friendly and great to work with. We love getting different dogs out to play with. It’s always a great time when we come here.

We had a great experience here. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help. We just purchased a Siberian Husky puppy and we couldn't be happier. He is the perfect addition to our family. Well tempered and picking up potty training quickly. Not to mention our girls absolutely love him.

One of my favorite places to grab hamster supplies. A wide variety of dogs and open cages with all sorts of furry friends. The staff are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to give tips and tricks from their own experience to a first time or even long time pet owner.

Animal health at this location is definitely a concern. Always watch what you buy here. Staff is primarily unknowledgeable. At this location you will typically find them on their phones not paying attention to anyone really. Never really have a good experience here, and I would recommend you visit one of the other "per store" locations in town.

So, the animals here are adorable. But honestly, I don't think they are at all treated right and taken care of. The puppies all seemed sick when I was there. Also, the prices are outrageous. Especially for the puppies being sick. You would think after so baby reviews about them being unhealthy, Petland would do something about it. Have they? Nope!

We are on our 3rd puppy from this store and we could not be any more pleased with our fur babies. We purchased a basset hound in 2020 and then just within the past week we purchased 2 Saint Bernards. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I want to give a shout out to Dallas she kept in contact with me letting me know that the puppy we were interested in was still available and working with us through the financial part of it all! Plus she’s always friendly and helpful every time I go in for my other pet needs!!!!!

Went to get a hamster today. Didn’t really have an idea of what we needed. Had a worker named Dallas help us with everything. She was amazing and walked us through everything from food to bedding. She was knowledgeable and super nice! I’ve always had a pleasant experience but this went above and beyond! Give that girl a raise! ;)

Rodent, hamster and bird cages are open, allowing children and teens to mishandle the animals, a place that obviously cares more about selling animals rather than ensuring proper care of them. I bought a hamster as a friend to my previously owned one, I was told by the kind lady who helped me, named Kim, that there was a 14 day policy in which I could return the hamster should it not get along with mine. This policy was not specified as exclusively in the case of death, and rather in the case of any issue. I brought the receipt to return the hamster a day after purchase to a male worker.Upon informing him that the new hamster I bought was frightened of my previously owned hamster, and after explaining that I wanted to return the hamster for the sole fact that I not only do not own two separate cages but also that keeping the hamsters together would jeopardize their wellbeing. The man behaved strangely, as if he would have rather I took it home to die than have to explain to me I couldn’t receive money back. I have no doubt that this location, as well as most pet stores, are used to belligerent and ignorant customers. Nonetheless, I was glad to return the hamster without a refund, I understand policy is not their control. I only presumed I was able to return the hamster because I was told this was the case. The worker was not very friendly or apologetic and I really didn’t appreciate this...All of the female staff are very useful and friendly so on behalf of their work it’s a fine place customer service wise. But on behalf of the male staff that peeved me and improper animal enclosures (which is a company issue and not their own) I rate two stars.

Me and my boyfriend went into Petland Lancaster to get some supplies for our hermit crabs. We went in after being disappointed by the selection and amount of dead reptiles and fish we saw at Pet Smart. We were blown away by the immaculate conditions all of the aquariums and terrariums at Petland! It was all so clean and well kept, the set ups were beautiful and you could tell that the animals were really happy and healthy. We asked for the name of the person taking care of the reptile area and a gentlemen named Tyler came out and was so excited to talk to us about the animals and how he cares for them! Bravo Petland and Tyler! Great job 👏

Not only was she was patient with us and made sure that we had everything we needed for our new pup before we went home, but when we returned, she asked us how it was going at home with our new little guy and was more than happy to help us to again get everything we were looking for. Went into Petland Lancaster today to buy a ferret. The store claimed they were Marshall Ferrets but the Marshall tattoos were missing. I was still willing to purchase the ferret. We spoke to an associate who spoke to the sales manager about the ferret. When we got to the register 2 people asked if I was buying the female ferret. They told the sales manager that they wanted the ferret. The sales manager then claimed the ferret was on hold for the couple. Very unprofessional.

This review is 90% aquarium based and 10% cute puppy based.Aquarium: I live in "Round Town" and it has zero pet shops; I have to drive half an hour in any direction to find anything selling fish; so when I finally found a shop with competent staff and clean healthy tanks I felt it necessary to do this. You won't find better kept tanks and fish anywhere else than Petland. Granted, the selection of fish is slim and mostly basic, but they're very healthy tanks/fish. Best shop in the South/south east area of Columbus/Grove City. Not to mention, this shop specifically, is very knowledgeable in all aspects of shop keep and never guessing on what to say. Zero answers from any petland location started with "uh" or "uhm". But this specific petland aquarium section is so damn on point I almost want to work here.Cute puppies: yeah... They're cute AF and also seem well kept and healthy. They also have spaces for "one on one" with puppies (call ahead to guarantee a spot for that to happen). No, I do not think you should buy puppies from stores (generally), but these pups are so damn cute and not sad/sickly looking and, again, are SO... DAMN... CUTE!(Gonna be that guy) Would have given 5 stars if they had more aquarium products such as more food options, bigger tanks, decorative items, and filter/filtering equipment.Aquarium shops in Pickaway County are few and far, but besides JP's which can run you some money, this location is by far one of my favorites. It helps if you have some experience in fish/tank keeping to realize this shops worth in the aquarium hobby.Again. VERY prompt, knowledgeable, and polite people working here. Kudos to you all that work here. You all deserve something. I don't know what y'all deserve, but definitely some recognition.Thanks y'all,Bobby

I have went there for years starting when I first bought my leopard gecko, To growing my little leopard gecko family, To of course buying them food and tank supplies. My 5 stars are specifically to the worker there named Dallas, she always greets me with a smile on her face ready to help she remembers me by name even if my S/O picks up the food for a while and I don't come in months at a time. she makes my trip to the pet store 10x better. I actually recently made a move farther away to where I happen to be closer to the Athens branch but I would rather make the drive to Lancaster any day if that means I get to see Dallas she makes it seem like she really cares for my 4 legged children. thank you Dallas for everything you do.

I’m a weekly customer here at petland Tyler was very helpful with helping me pick out my fish and keeps the tanks very clean and looking amazing. He shares his knowledge with everyone and is an amazing employee. Tyler and Jake both go above and beyond to help everyone.
