The best pet store ever, period. I've been coming here since I was 19(17+ years), and the staff is extremely knowledgeable, and kind. It's a family business, and the atmosphere goes along with it. I commonly make the trek there from a good 50 minutes away just to grab some pet food and say hello.You guys are the best! Still love y'all!

My wife lived in Lakewood, within walking distance of this pet store when I met her. Being the loving and happy owner of cats, beta fish, and a snake, she got to know the owner and employees of this store pretty well. They are always very friendly and their prices are exceptionally reasonable. We love that this is a true family owned business as well! We unfortunately don’t live as close anymore so we don’t frequent as often, but every time we stop back in we’re greeted with kindness. I 100% recommend Pets General Store!

Pets general store is amazing! The staff is super kind and helpful. I come here once or twice a week for feeder fish for my piranahs and the fish are always healthy.

Great local pet store. Willing to accommodate special foods and always have our dog food brand in stock. They learn what you order over time and make sure it’s there when you go in for more. Great selection of toys and treats that our dog loves also.

Been going here well over a decade. They are family owned, well priced, clean, friendly & educated in everything pet. No need to go anywhere else. PLUS, they have an indoor pond & cater to people like me with ponds & carry rare pond plants & needs... pics of my pond below & the plants & things I got from them .... hard to find some of these floating pond plants ...... - thank u for that & LOVE your indoor pond in the store...never get rid of it.

Love this store. I've known Greg for a while and have worked with him. He is a stand up guy. Yesterday was the first time I interacted with the staff. Although they forgot to give me one of my items, I was really impressed by their knowledge of pond fish. We got a few new fish family members. Super happy.

If you value your pet, then I suggest that you do not take them to the unlicensed groomer who works in this store known as Mariah. We took our four year old cat here for a simple in and out nail trim, now she's dead. You've been warned.03/10/24 Take action all you want. I have two separate vets that would be willing to come forward and agree that it was your incompetent unlicensed so called pet groomer that caused the attack on our cat. You lied in court and so did your groomer. You and your groomer may have gotten away with this one, but I'm sure this will not be the last pet lost due to your store. And to add insult to injury, you and your groomer were smiling and laughing out of the court parking lot. Causing the death of a cat is pretty funny huh? I will continue to let people know our experience with your shop!

If you value your pet, then I suggest that you only use Pet's General and Mariah for grooming. Mariah always took care of my Springer Spaniel Ivy for her grooming needs. As Ivy aged, Mariah made sure she was comfortable in every aspect, and when she was close to finished she would call me so I could come pick her up. I took my dog Ivy to her right before the Summer heat kicked in, knowing it would most likely be her last grooming because of her advanced age and kidney disease, but wanted her to be comfortable for the Summer heat. Mariah made so many special arrangements to keep Ivy comfortable, I was amazed. She even took pictures of Ivy so that I would have them and saved me some of her hair. She knew as well the end was near. When she heard Ivy passed, she even sent me a sympathy card. I will always be eternally grateful for Mariah. She took the picture below while she let Ivy lay down during her grooming so that she was not in pain.

NO need to go anywhere else for any pet needs. ... priced great , family owned & alot of POND stuff, rare pond plants to buy & even an indoor impressive pond in the pet store !! I bought alot of plants there this year.Nice people , clean store, great prices. Love it, been going for well over a decade.

Very knowledgeable. Great staff. Enjoy going everytime. They always have a different variety of animals, fish, and reptilians. If there is anything you need for your pets theyost likely have it, if not then they will try there best to get you what you need or want. I go in approximately 3 times a month to get my ball python some food and they always have some in. Never have to wait for it. Great job guys and girls, keep up the great work. Been going for a yr now and the staff are still amazing. Very insightful about what they have in their store.

Really really awesome store. They have a wide variety of selections. Things that you wouldn't find at a normal pet store. The fish seemed very well taken care of and the betta that I bought is absolutely beautiful and healthy. The staff that I spoke to is very knowledgeable and kind. They seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. I'm never going to a different pet store.

This is a family owned pet store that goes above and beyond to help all of their customers. I have been buying from Pet's General for years and going to Mariah Murphy for many years. She is the ONLY person I trust with my two very old little guys. One is 21 and cannot stand for long periods and is almost blind, one is 16 and is deaf. She is patient and so careful with both of them. I cannot say enough good things about her. I highly recommend everything about Pet's General and their grooming salon.

Please ignore the negative comments about Mariah. There is a family on a smear campaign over something that was determined not to be her fault BY A VET and BY THE COURT. I have known her for over a decade, she has always been kind and loving to every animal, whether it was hers or not. I have seen the way she cares for animals professionally as well as her own pets. She has taken care of my own pets as well. She is nothing short of amazing. She treats every animal as if it were her own, with tons of care and love! She is very professional and experienced. Your pets will always be safe and loved in her care. With that being said, please have your pets checked by their veterinarian regularly, so you can be aware of any medical conditions and let your groomer know. The health and safety of your pet relies on you being a good pet owner and knowing your pets medical conditions, as well as communicating those medical conditions with anyone who is handling your pet.

Every time I come here or send my husband these folks are so incredibly friendly and helpful. My youngest cat has been running the gamut of health issues this year and every time we stop in for ideas on how to get her to take her pills now that she’s outsmarted the old way or getting her to eat when she’s reluctant. They’ve been very caring and open when we just drop information and our life stories on them. I don’t know why you’d go to the chain stores when these folks are here.
