Thanks to the wonderful staff for maintaining this awesome place. Absolutely gorgeous. I can't imagine a better place to experience the total Eclipse. One of the most memorable adventures of my lifetime. Still can't find the words to describe the experience from this magnificent place. Traversed "hell AND high water" to get here. Blessed with an immemorable experience.

This is hands down the best state park I have been to in Ohio and my absolute favorite. The hiking here boasts of a variety of trails from wooded/marshy to sandy/beach trails. This place is teeming with wildlife, wildflowers, and just sheer beauty. There are so many birds here of so many different varieties. I honestly can't say enough about this park. If you're looking for a place to come day hike, come here.Restrooms: There are plenty of restrooms herePicnic area: There are several picnic areas

Great experience. Site D6 close to an overflow parking lot, which is visible. Only cold water in restrooms, which weren’t heated. Like Raccoon Creek State Park in PA better.

Such a great place to enjoy the sounds and views of nature, no matter what time of the year you go.

Nice park, but very spread out, especially to get to the water. We thought we'd be much closer and had to let our tween son go out of site to fish. Nothing for my 15 yr old to do. Swimming access is a 10 minute car ride away at the human beach. Dog beach is about a 15 minute walk from an adjacent parking lot. It was great once we took our rolling cart with our stuff all the way there, but a very long walk.Facilities were decent but hot water was not great for showers. Good pressure though. Our site was C033, which we thought would be big on the end circle. It was super tiny, so much that we used a neighbor's fire ring because ours was too close to our vehicle.LOTS of mayflies, but that's to be expected in this area. Will definitely check out other campgrounds when coming back to the area.Dog-friendliness: Nice dog beach near by if you are up for the 15 minute walk from the parking lot!

Beautiful park! We stayed at the campgrounds, which is nice but entirely too tight for our liking. Luckily, our site was not backed up to anyone. We drove around the park, took our dogs for a walk, and were amazed at how large the park itself is. We will definitely return again and again.Dog-friendliness: I was very pleased that I did not see any areas that were off limits to dogs. Not to say that there aren't, I just didn't see any on our brief visit to the park. The campground is VERY dog friendly.

It has been tradition to go to this beach every summer! We usually pack for a long day here! Whether we plan to have cold cuts or BBQ, it is all enjoyed! The shallow beaches make great swims for our little members! They have shower room and bathroom access! If you hope to get a picnic table and grill, you want to make sure you arrive as late as 10am! Otherwise, the campground takes over the beach! When this happens we just find a nice shady grass area and enjoy our time , eventually a table will open!

I have mixed thoughts on leaving 3 stars. The park itself is beautiful! Very well maintained and the beach is beautiful. The camping is where I have issues. Mind you we went at the end of August during the week. The sites are small and very close together. There are no trees or bush's to block the view of your neighbor. It was empty until Thursday night when it started to get loud. The park was maybe 1/4 full at this point. I can not imagine camping here when it is busy. People coming in to set up at 9:30/ 10 pm was a little inconvenient when you need to get up early to leave.Showers were great, tons of parks for the kids to play at. Being use to larger more secluded sites this was a different experience for our family.Playground: I have never seen so many playgrounds at a park. They were all different and fun.

East Harbor is a great place for children as the water is shallow near the beach. You have to go out pretty far before the lake becomes deep. Pets are not permitted on the beach, but they are welcome in other areas of the park. Great campground and picnic areas!

Love going to East Harbor! Always a relaxing stay! Although this time the showers needed a little more attention this time bc of mold growing in showers. Grew up coming here and it has always been a state park favorite. The employees were very nice and welcoming and lawns well kept.

Great campground with a beautiful beach. We enjoy meeting up with family and friends at East Harbor.Restrooms: Multiple restrooms throughout the campground. Some have shower facilities while the smaller ones are scattered throughout the campsite areas. There is a restroom at the public beach with an outside shower for rinsing off the sand.Dog-friendliness: The entire campground is dog friendly with a two-dog limit. No digs allowed on the public beach, but they are allowed at another area further down the shoreline.Picnic area: Multiple picnic tables and grills along the shoreline adjacent to the parking area, which is large.

Very nice Ohio State Park and campgrounds. Stayed a week at the campgrounds and had a great time. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The camp store has all the essentials, plus extras, and everything is reasonably priced. The bath houses are clean and there is fantastic water pressure in the showers. The dump station is outstanding but could use a trash can for disposal of rubber gloves after dumping tanks.

Nice campground, very large, nice swimming beach, nice fishing areas. Very helpful staff. The only down side might be the sites are real close. But the sites are clean, level, and easily accessible. Numerous clean restrooms and showers.

Excellent beach for swimming and enjoying the lovely lake breeze. Quiet and relaxing. Soft sandy bottom, washrooms and even a small play area for the kids.

A very nice community park with a narrow sandy beach and shallow sloping shoreline so that the water is shallow for 100 yards into the water. There are good bathrooms and an outside shower to rinse the sand off.Restrooms: Excellent conditions with an outside shower to rinse the sand off.

A good place to spend your family day out. There are some small beaches and short bicycle trails. A lit of camping grounds are available and there is an RV park too.

Very clean and quiet for being such a large campground. Sites are average size for a state park. Camp store is larger than most with helpful staff.Nice place to camp or use as a base to see the local sites.

Looks like an amazing campground! We came for the dog walking and disc golf, but we wish we could have parked our RV here for our stay as we much prefer state parks.

We visited over the weekend in August and were very surprised it was not busier. The camping sites were a bit tight. Some larger rigs had a bit harder time with some turns. I did notice there were larger sites throughout the campgrounds. There were plenty of hiking trails with an abundance of wildlife, more than we've seen at many Ohio State Parks. This park is definitely on the return to list.

I tried to camp on Kelly's island and am so glad I couldn't. This park has so much more to offer and the mainland is convenient... especially with the ferry cost. Kids loved it here. Great facilities and quiet...minus a raccoon that got into someone's stuff one EARLY morning and fought with their dog 🤪

Beautiful big state park. It's very clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly. They've increased patrol in the area and have had to become more strict on the rules and regulations. Most sites are only allowed one car on lot and it has to be able to park on pavement. They no longer want or will allow 2nd vehicle to be parked in grass, even if it's shaded by trees and all dirt. You are no longer able to check in early. If you arrive before 3pm, they will make you sit and wait until exact time.Playground: Huge playground for kids!Restrooms: Clean restrooms and shower house.

This harbor and beach is breath taking if your into spectacular sunsets as boats cruise in and out. Plenty of room to find a private spot to do private things.😉. You can walk way out into Lake Ontario And feel surrounded by water. The pier is worth the walk even if Lobo got bored waiting on me to get the pic I wanted.

Great state park. Ohio doesn't mess around with its state parks. They are well maintained and have restrooms and drinking fountains. The park is free to enter. From the tip of the park you can look out and see the Marblehead lighthouse. I haven't been there but it's on the list.Restrooms: Out near the end of the park, adjacent to the lake, there is a pavilion with restrooms and a drinking fountain. There is another building on the way back, off to the side that I believe has restrooms as well. Picnic area: Plenty of picnic tables and there are garbage cans. The areas aren't messy and the tables are in decent repair. Barbecue: There are grills all over. Bring charcoal and don't go heavy on the lighter fluid. Don't need a wildfire.

Very nice state park. Extremely large in size. Probably one of the biggest our family has been to. Very friendly campers and hosts. Close to ferry to go over to Put N Bay. Would have given another star if the beaches were a little better for the kiddos. Nice experience and plenty of walking and biking trails to boot.

My family loved this campground. The beach was perfect for kids to swim. The location was close by everything we wanted to see. We really enjoyed having a cabin here.
