A much less touristy and more authentic store serving the local community in and around Kidron. Stopped in to the restraint for a quick lunch. Not busy at all. Decor was circa 1950s but clearly was there to serve working people. The food was simple and basic. When was the last time you saw fried bologna on a menu. A great dining experience

I may be biased as I work here and have relatives that own the store. but I love this store. Great meat department. They can do more for you than just serve from the case. I buy a quarter beef from them and they process it for me. Pricing is comparable to any local butcher shop. The restaurant has been rebranded and is a great place to get a meal. The grocery store carries all the essentials so if you’re in need of something it’s a great place to make a quick stop.

Whoa. This place needs cleaned. BADLY. It also needs a ventilation system. You will leave smelling of old grease. The photo I shared is of a vent that blows directly over diners and yes, that is a strip of greasy dust and debris waving in the breeze. I gave it 2 stars because our server was sweet and delightful. One of our party ordered a salad that was served in a high walled bowl that made it very difficult to eat. It was also mostly croutons and the chicken looked weird and dried out. Also, not a fan of being dive bombed by flies throughout my meal. If you like eating in a dirty, smelly basement, this is for you but enjoy at your own risk.

I give it 4 stars because I love the store. I’ve lived in Kidron for the past three years and everyone there is so friendly and the prices aren’t bad. Love the fresh local meat. Would highly recommend shopping there! Now I would give it 5 stars but honestly since the restaurant has new ownership it has been very disappointing. Kidron restaurant was absolute favorite. The food was delicious, prices were affordable, the staff was friendly and inviting. Now the staff is still the same but the food is not the same at all, higher prices for less, the food isn’t the same quality as it was before. I’ve tried their new coffee drinks on two separate occasions, first I tried a caramel frappe and it was like drinking just straight caramel. Second time I ordered a pumpkin pie flavored iced coffee, first sip was so bitter so I tried stirring and the pumpkin flavoring didn’t even taste like pumpkin it tasted like pure chemicals and honestly made me sick. Stomach pains and nausea from it. All in all, I will not be coming back to the restaurant. It saddens me that it was once a great place to eat with your family and now I want nothing to do with it. They need to do a little less on improving the aesthetics and work on what they are serving.

It’s a cool place to visit if you are into the puppy mills next door. You can hear the dogs barking from the parking lot. I went over and saw everything for myself. 🤬

Solid home cooking. The sausage gray and fluffy biscuits filled you up for a good 4 to 5 hours. The kids menu serving of pancakes was still a substantial portion. The plate was too small and you run the risk of a syrup overflow. Don't know where they get their maple syrup but it was really flavorful. The egg was an add on request on top of the pancakes.

The food was average but we give an extra star for experience. This grocery/clothing store/restaurant is in the middle of Amish country as and definitely a local favorite on Saturdays.

This is for the restaurant it’s great, but there is a couple of problems first there’s dead insects on the walls. The waiters ignored us when we wanted a refill. The vault stand out so bad. And took a hour and a half to make chopped up potatoes, but they work very hard so I am going to give him four stars

Desent restaurant. The vegetable soup was great. Burgers were great. Baked chicken was dry. Mash potatoes were 100% sure powdered. And bad powdered at that. The restaurant is in the basement. Kind of dungeon like. Service was fantastic. Prices were very reasonable.

Was on vacation. Did not pack any food so we found this store. I got what we needed and more. I have to say I paid so much less for what I got than I would have paid in my home town. The staff was lovely. Told us of some amazing sights to see. We did them and will for sure be back later to see more. Keep up the great work and thank you for all you do and the time you take to help in town visits. 😀

This place pretty much delivers on anything you would need. Fresh Amish meats and anything you would need from the grocery store .

Went yesterday for the famous chicken but found out it is only served on maybe Tuesday and Thursday? I got the special which was some kind of Greek chicken in a white gravy with mushrooms. The chicken was burned & very dry. The noodles were great though! My friend and I were both disappointed. We barely ate anything. I am originally from this area but live out of state now. Had looked forward to eating here since I saw it online last year. Won't be going back.

It's like a time machine to come here. I mean that in a very good way. The restaurant in the basement has good, reasonably priced food and the store upstairs is excellent. Combine this and a trip to Lehman's and you'll be happy.

We stopped in for breakfast on Saturday and were thoroughly disappointed. It was a 'buffet' with limited things and the foods that was there, simply put, were horrible. The bacon and sausage were cooked in the deep fryer and both cooked to death. I thought I would bust my teeth chewing the over cooked sausage. It seemed like the only measure is profit at this point - like see how fast they could produce the food without care and pay as few employees as possible to slop it into the buffet. The second star is for previous breakfasts, really good. Not sure if we will ever be back...

We stopped in here for a bite to eat. The food was priced right, served hot, and delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We browsed around and I will say that they have a great selection of goods ranging from grocery items to hiking boots. Truly a little bit of everything.

Great place to shop. But the hidden gem about this place is the incredible diner that is downstairs. The food is great The waitresses are very nice and helpful but more importantly the prices are reasonable. It is loaded with Amish as this is a very heavy Amish area, and they know the value of a dollar. So if you get the opportunity and you're shopping at the store go on downstairs and have a great meal and their desserts are excellent.

Such a nice group of people work here! There's a restaurant in the basement. It reminded me of an old fashioned diner. There was a long wrap around bar in the middle of the restaurant with pre-sliced pie in a glass case. The tables again reminded me of the '80s with laminate tops and vinyl chairs, and red bar stools, the works! But the service was absolutely down home wonderful! Sharon and Kendra were very kind! This is one of those little hidden places that only the locals know about, I'm sure! So the next time you're in Kidron be sure and check out the restaurant as well. Only major downside is that it is NOT handicap accessible. Accepts major credit cards.

Local grocery store with a restaurant in the basement. Had the hamloaf dinner downstairs and bought 5lbs to take home up at the deli counter! Best hamloaf I've found!

There's a great shoe and boot store hidden in the basement here!I got a pair of adorable tennies and my man's son got some high quality Red Wing work boots.I tried on a pair of Keen hiking shoes 👟 but they didn't have the color I was looking for.The employees are very welcoming and helpful! The food from the Cafe smelled incredible but we decided not to eat there.Overall, we enjoyed the downstairs shoe and boot store but didn't have time to peruse the rest of the establishment but will definitely make time the next time we get back to the area!

Great store in a small community. Great selection of fresh locally grown meats and produces and bulk food items for the casual or experienced bakers. If you need a bite stop by the restaurant for a meal, piece of pie and great conversation. My coffee cup never ran low.

Didn't have the chicken they're supposed to be famous for, so it was a disappointment. The sandwiches were good. The onion rings were a bit skimpy. The service was good. Prices were reasonable.Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible at all. Several steps to maneuver making it difficult.
