Kelley’s Island State Park is a hidden gem! The campground was clean, well groomed and has many, many spot for various types of campers. If you have a large RV or a pop up camper they have you covered. The site sales wood, and bags of ice on site. The restrooms were adequate. The site is dog friendly and there is a playground on site, and many activities for you and your family.Playground: The playground was large, and the kids had fun laughing and playing.Restrooms: The restrooms were adequate. I never saw anyone cleaning them, and there was plenty of running water, and showers.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcomed!Picnic area: Each camp site has a picnic table, and all the facilities appeared to be in great working order.

We camped for a week. We ended up moving our site because the people next to us were really loud. But the staff was really helpful about it and just switched us to one towards the back since most people wanted sites near the front. There's a couple bath houses with restrooms, sinks, and showers. They were all pretty clean. Each non-electric campsite has a fire ring and a picnic table. There's a swimming beach, hiking trails, and a jetty with a paved walkway. We found all kinds of cool things, the kids went swimming and fishing. We stopped at the little secondhand shop by the church to get the campfire cooking things we'd forgotten. The park sells campfire wood and ice. I really enjoyed the boardwalk trail, it might be my favorite part. But when you get out there, explore all the accessible beaches, each one is different. Some of them are even cliffs. We will absolutely be going back again.

Awesome state park! We spent two nights tent camping here and really enjoyed it. Well-maintained with plenty of spaces and access to a nice sandy beach. Showers/restrooms were nicely built and maintained. Great place to base yourself when enjoying a laid-back weekend on the island!

Worth the drive and walk. Some displays need attention but I believe they are going for the abandoned look. Make sure you walk all three buildings there is a variety of work by multiple artist. Some seem odd others amazing. Go win open mind and just enjoy the art. Walk out to the water. There is no set path, so it's easy to miss things. Wander its okay!

Clean beach, kayak rental onsite, the restrooms/changing rooms need a little love, but are honestly on par with other state run parks I've been to. Very shallow which is great for little kids. We had a blast! Don't mind the occasional water snake either :)

Usually smells like dead fish. Antiquated filthy restrooms. Staff is rude and doesn’t seem to know anything about the island. This campground has infinite unrealized potential. It’s embarrassing how poorly it’s maintained. What a shame. The natural beauty of the Kelleys island is the only saving grace.Restrooms: I’ve never been to prison in a third world country, but I imagine the restroom are cleaner and better maintained than the ones in the Kelleys Island Campground. Easily the most disgusting public restrooms I’ve ever seen foot in.

Nice park. Good beach access. Kids enjoyed the playground. Friendly staff. On Saturday nights in the summer they show movies on a projector in their amphitheater- they showed inside out when we visited- kids loved it! There is a convenience store across the street from the park- that place saved our trip.

If you want to feel far away from your stressful life but not be far away, this is the place for you. The best part is my cell service sucks there! I get to disconnect and just enjoy slowing down a bit.

Absolutely beautiful here!! The entire experience was beyond expectations. Take the ferry in your car to drive around the island or rent a golf cart when you get there. The fee to ride the ferry is rather pricey ($100 for 3 adults 1 child in car), however worth the price! The sculpture art park was stunning and the people that live here are so friendly. End of summer beginning of fall was a perfect time to go to avoid excessive crowds of people.

I was redirected to availability at Kelly’s Island when I tried to book space at nearby Maumee Bay State Park. The Ohio State Park website made no mention of the need to access the park by ferry or the substantial cost thereof. Many ‘Islands’ are accessible by bridge or causeway.I was unable to complete my booking online so I completed it through an agent, who also made no mention of a ferry or the cost thereof. .I, unfortunately, assumed that a government organization would Fully Disclose all relevant information to it’s customer. When I canceled the reservation I was charged a $56.50 penalty even though the agent acknowledged their failure to disclose!

An incredible campground! There were quite a few mosquitos - but the general store across the street had all the supplies we needed. You can’t beat the view

Amazing weekend! The campground was empty, so we basically had the run of the place. Total privacy! The groundsmen we're awesome and super helpful. They grabbed us some firewood for our first night when the office was closed. We are so grateful for that. The campground looks like it's a pretty decent size and is in a great location. You can walk to the Glacial Grooves, the beach area, fishing and it's right off of Division street. The sites all seemed to be great, fire pit with cooking grate, picnic table. Most sites have shade in some form. Some of the rustic/primitive sites that are right on the water do have a lot more gravel than expected, so I would recommend getting additional stakes for your tent (get some upgraded ones). It was totally windy up there, the nights were freezing. Mind you we were tent camping in April (crazy I know). Absolutely loved it. The bathrooms are super clean, they have outlets for blow dryers/curlers/etc. We didn't have any raccoons at camp, but my travel friends swore they heard a coyote. I highly recommend this place!

Great state park especially if you're wanting to camp or glamp. Beautiful views of Lake Erie. Clean & large bathhouse in center of camping area. Plenty to do nearby. Monarch winery is within walking distance from the main camp ground entrance of the park.

Great family camping experience. The campsite location on the island is awesome. Beautiful sheltered cove with rocky shoreline and some stretches of shallow sandy beach. Bathroom facilities were very usable, not the newest/nicest I've seen at a state park, but totally serviceable. Ferry was pricey, $150 round trip for family of 5 (one kid under 5 was free), a car, and a small pop-up camper. Make sure to bring all your supplies. There are a handful of bars, restaurants and convenience stores on the island for basics, but definitely no large grocery store. We will definitely go back again some time.

My favorite place to camp in Ohio. Beautiful , family friendly , and so much to see within walking distance. Staff and park ranger are helpful and accommodating. I’ve been both with friends and solo and always felt safe. Sites are together which can be a con for some people.

This is, without a doubt, the best campground I’ve ever been to. We tent camped right on the beach and woke up to the most beautiful views of Lake Erie. The campground is quiet and clean, showers are hot, and staff is very friendly!

This is an excellent state park. Several dozen campsites for tents or RVs. Paved roads. Great access to the lake and many miles of trail. Restroom and shower facilities. Good signage. Recommend camping here on the island. Trails through woodland and beach as well as marshland.

Old structures at odds with more modern conveniences. Like walking through a history book while at the same time interacting with year long Island residents. Great boat ramps and docks. Loved the beach

Great facilities and views, close to the glacial grooves, and the naturalists are very helpful and run informative programs. Our site was near a fish cleaning hut and smelled horrible mixed with aromas from the restrooms nearby. It's fun, but definitely attracts a party crowd in both the campground and in the bay filled with boats blasting music all day and into the night. I wouldn't reccomend if you are looking for some paece and quiet in nature, but the sights are definitely pretty.

The state park is a nice area, but could use better signage on the trails and better facilities at the beach. There are some interesting ruins, with no description. The trails have forks that in places have no directional information. If you are using it for the boat ramp, it is great.

We have camped at Kelleys Island for 2 summers in a row now and getting ready to enjoy our 3rd trip there this July! we love this campground - we like getting one of the full hookups so reserving WAY in advance is essential since it sell out quickly. The sites are a bit close together but still roomy enough for some privacy, full hook ups at the end on the loop are roomier - the sites with water views are all electric and the ones right on the water are tent only non electric sites. Gorgeous views, kayak rentals, easy proximity to the main area of downtown (rent a golf cart for your stay, it's definitely worth it!) Everyone who works here is very nice and helpful. We had a problem with our water connection and it was addressed quickly. We plan to stay a full week this year - there is so much to do on the island and easy to take the Jet Express to other areas too like Put In Bay and Cedar Point.

Love taking the ferry over and renting a golf cart. Beautiful views and nice historical stops. Nice to see the glacial grooves, the old churches, quarries and inscription rock. The little beach at the state park is a nice sandy spot. Great place to visit when doing a trip to Cedar Point or Marblehead area.

I camped for two nights! It was perfect weather and the facilities were great. Easy access to the rest of the island’s food and activities! Watch out for the raccoons!

This was our first time to Kelley's Island. The State Park was a real treat. There is a beach, campground, old abandoned winery, and the best part, glacier grooves you can view up a short metal staircase or a ramp. I've never seen glacier grooves before and the history behind the ones at Kelley's Island are fascinating.CCW Friendly

Worth the ferry trip over! A short walk brings you to a beautiful and unique lake within the former quarry. You can also see lots of alvar on the hike in.

A geologic phenomenon. Hidden gems in unlabeled places, rope-and-anchor access to great rocky beaches and amazing vistas. The islands history isn't really advertised but dig in, its interesting. Family touristy stuff is limited but the nature around the edges is wonderful.
