I have a Pittbull mix who lived in the pound for the majority of her life before I got her in February. She HATES the vet and after many failed attempts, I am so glad we found Happy Tails. They took the time to make her feel comfortable before doing any exams. The staff is so kind and helpful. I truly never thought we’d find a good vet but I’m glad to say Happy Tails has proved me wrong!

So THRILLED with this vet! Our dog has battled cataracts/glaucoma in his 1 eye for over a year. Our previous veterinary office dismissed it and couldn't give us any answers as to what was going on, how it happened, or the next steps to fix it.But, I am so happy we decided to take him to Happy Tails! The very first visit, we got answers and a plan to get him fixed up. The entire clinical staff is honest, nurturing, and their love for your pet really shines through. Very pleased with the front office staff, too. They always did an amazing job at getting back with us in great timing and keeping us posted throughout our dog's surgery.If you are on the search for a new veterinary office - you can not beat this place!

I really like this vet. I have been having a hard time to find a vet that will actually acknowledge my vet-anxious dog. I found out one of my friends works here. So gave it a try! As soon as Dr.Harriman walked in the room she got on the floor with my pup, no vets ever done it before but it made him comfortable. She did his initial exam with ease as she continued to pet him but feel around his body at the same time. I would say my pup did the best here than anywhere else. Thank you!!!!! And thank you for not looking at my pup any differently even though he’s so anxious with strangers and vets. It made the visit feel a lot better and smoother :) they also were very accommodating when having to keep my dog separate from other animals.

I had a terrible experience with this veterinarian. She was awful at working with a merle pup owner and was recommending not concerning myself with the fact that my Aussie has a high chance of carrying an MDR1 gene. The communication was poor and just felt very ego driven rather than care driven. I simply did not feel that my puppy was in good hands and that I would be able to make good decisions for her health given that I was not getting enough information. As an example, my puppy was itching and scratching up a storm despite putting her on flea and tick medication. I described that when I would spray an all natural flea repellant on my pup before going out for potty, she would be fine but without it she would itch/scratch afterwards. The Happy Tails vet didn't even take this into consideration and immediately placed my pup on allergy medication. I went for a second opinion (on all matters) at a DIFFERENT vet office, and the care received was a world of a difference. They were respectful and gave me TONS of SCIENTIFIC information that helped me make the best decisions for my pup and made me feel more at ease. They were simply fantastic and the communication was excellent. In addition, they provided me with a more scientific way to decipher what was causing the itching and recommended putting her on a different flea & tick medication to first rule out whether it was fleas that were causing the itching (they found one on her in the visit) before moving on to other diagnosis. I placed my pup on a different flea medication and stopped administering the allergy medication. The itching stopped within a week. No allergies. Months later, my puppy never scratches herself after going outside for potty. I feel much more comfortable and confident in the care my pup is receiving at her new vet. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a vet, even if you need to drive outside of Johnstown to receive good care.

They are awesome. They treated my cat and dog and accommodated my dog who doesn’t like other dogs. Brought her in through the back door and avoided an issue with another canine patient. Very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend 😊

We love Happy Tails! We recently came home from a trip and found our pup was having a seasonal allergy attack that caused her bum glands to inflame and get infected - she showed no signs of this to us or the house-sitter beyond some normal seasonal paw-itching! The HT Team got us in right away and got her cleaned up and started on meds to attack the infection, pain, and get her allergies under control. They are so caring, understanding, and most of all, knowledgeable!If you are looking for a vet in the Johnstown area, Happy Tails is a great choice. Their prices are fair, their staff is wonderful, and the docs are fantastic.

Took our cat Sugar for a wellness check up and we were very pleased, But why bigger then that....I had a little orange cat come to my home 2 months ago.. Very hurt and very hungry, as we already have 4 rescue kitties, I knew I couldn't keep him...but he very badly needed help, after many calls, trying to find someone who would help him, Happy Tails told me if I could catch him, they would take him and help him...praise the Lord...all the next day, I watched for him, nothing, then all of a sudden about 7 p.m. there he was..starved..I hurried and got my carrier, hoping I could catch him...I had fed him the night before, wasn't sure if he was feral or not..Most come here are...I put the food in the carrier and he went right in it...I was so excited, but he looked so bad, his leg was mangled...And it was 5 after 7 and Happy Tails close at 7..I hurried and called, thank god they answered and waited on me to bring him in..Turns out he had a very severely broken pelvis and they believed they might have to amputate his leg...Well two months later, Phil as they named,now happily lives at Happy Tails, his pelvis has healed nicely, still watching his pelvis and may not have to amputate leg now...They have neutered him, he has gained weigh. I have went and checked on him more then once...Got to see him again last night...I am so Thankful for what they done have for him...he would have been dead within a few days....So as you can imagine....I'm pretty impressed with Happy Tails

I took my cat in Monday to get bloodwork and to be checked out. She was given medication but still didn’t get better. Decided to take her to OSU on Thursday. Called happy tails because they never got back to us about bloodwork. Asked them to forward it to osu. They said they could. But it never happened. My cat was a life or death situation and we needed results. Called them back several times and phone was never answered. You dropped the ball. On one of my fur babies. My kid. Now I was charged again for getting bloodwork again. You will see me tomorrow.

Lilly Belle has been going to Happy Tails Veterinary Clinic since she was 6 weeks old now she is 17 months old we have always had a good experience the Doctors and nurses are very caring and knowledgeable I would highly recommend taking your pet to happy tails

Having brought several of my animals here for both routine treatment and more serious care I 100% love this place. The respect and dignity they have always shown is wonderful and both humans and fur-babies give it. They allowed me to say goodbye to a beloved friend in peace and I could not have asked for more.

Lovely people! Cared and loved on my dogs! The only reason I gave them a 4 was that they lost some paperwork I gave them about my puppy, but it was quickly forgiven.

The happy tails team took great care of my dog Cooper during his emergency! They kept me updated during the whole process and were very comforting during the hard time. A little on the expensive side but SO WORTH IT.

We only started coming here once our vet moved here, though he has since retired. Our dog has allergies and once a year we need meds for it. This time, when I called, I was told I might have to bring her in first but they’d talk to the vet and call me back. I was told this on Wednesday. It is currently Tuesday of the following week and still have yet to hear back despite daily calls with voicemails, because good luck every getting someone to answer the phone. Our girl has since itched herself raw. Don’t go here. Go somewhere ethical that calls their clients back.

Dr Harriman and the entire staff at Happy Tails, without a doubt, provide the best care you could ever hope for your fur babies. We unfortunately had to say goodbye to our 15.5 yr old schnauzer a week ago. Not only did they give wonderful care for Angel while she was living, they provided great care and comfort when we faced saying goodbye. Dr Harriman took much time to explain all of our options and finally, she explained the whole process of our Angel's final ending. Two days after that fateful day, there was a beautiful floral arrangement delivered to our home from the folks at Happy Tails. The next day we received a sympathy card where every staff member not only signed the card, they all wrote such a warm, compassionate message telling us how much they enjoyed seeing Angel when she came to the clinic.This veterinary clinic is top notch, providing excellent care and they always show much compassion.

Wow! What a great experience! DVM Jessica Harriman was the best! She made Bentley, our puppy feel at ease. Being his first time there she was very friendly even sat on the floor with our little guy to make him feel comfortable. Everything she did was explained ahead of time along with the cost so there was no surprises.What a great experience and I would highly recommend this location! Happy Tails is Amazing, they got My Sweet Bristol Ann in right away. They were Very Friendly and Thorough. The was very informative with what they were going to do to and then when I picked her up, Dr. Harriman came out to the car and explained everything to us. After losing our beloved dog at only 3 years old. I was a nervous wreck when we rescued our new pup. The staff was so kind, caring, and welcoming! The office is so clean and peaceful! They even have a drive up window for those quick prescription pickups!We have also used the grooming services. Another amazing experience.For you rescue dog lovers they are the best! Your initial well visit will be deeply discounted. I truly can't say enough about how wonderful this office is.

Took my very timid puppy here for her first round of shots and the vet and tech both took their time and allowed her to warm up to them before trying to administer the vaccines, which made the experience much easier for both of us. They explained the entire process clearly, and took payment from the small exam room so I would be able to take her right out rather than wait at the front desk. I had previous experiences with my other dog where her first vet visit was traumatic, and she disliked the vet for years afterwards, so I wanted to make sure that didn't happen again, so this was a good choice. I'll continue to take my animals here.

Visit was fine even though they cancelled my scheduled visit and rescheduled so I had to the adjust my work schedule, otherwise it would have been weeks before they could accomodate. They didn't provide an accurate estimate of everything my pup needed that they emailed me prior to visit. Pushed the Lyme vaccine a bit too hard IMO. I had to ask about my dogs weight and the response was "I wasn't going to say anything, but since you brought it up he should loose maybe 10lbs"...whats the point of a wellness check up if you're not going to tell me my buddy is chunky??

If you like to spend money, this is the place for you. They want to overcharge you for everything making normal pet care unaffordable. I will never own a pet again b/c the vet bills are out of control. I spent more on a cat bill then for a human doctor bill. I am someone who would love to give a kitten a great home but after being taken advantage of for 22 years with my cat, no more. This vet is the same as all the others. Money, money, money. You’d rather watch an animal suffer then to provide affordable care. Disgusting.

My regular vet was booked solid and I needed get get my cat to a bar ASAP. Happy Tails was recommended. I am totally satisfied with my experience. Due to Covid-19, I had to leave my car, and never set foot inside or met the vet. But, everything was explained up front, and followed up twice with phones calls on needed tests and results. I was happy with the treatment plan and food recommendations, and my cat is much improved. He had bloodwork and 2 x-rays, costs explained up front, and a new customers discount on first time appointment. I took my cat to his normal vet yesterday, explained the entire thing, and he apologized that they couldn't get the cat in when needed, and said Happy Tails did everything right.

Dr. Ackerman was amazing with Frank, our orange cat. Frank is a very anxious, easily stressed cat who has trouble with simple exams. Dr. Ackerman took time to let Frank warm up to her while talking to him and not starting in on the exam right away. We were even able to get blood drawn with very minimal fuss. Dr. Ackerman, the nurse, and tech were all great with Frank, patient with him and his cat-parents with all the questions we had about our little buddy. Wasn’t cheap but what vet is, and would you trust a cheap vet? Dr. Ackerman and staff earned our trust with their kindness, care, and treatment of Frank, and their patience and understanding with parents who were as nervous as Frank.

Honestly felt so comfortable with happy tails and the staff. They explained everything in a way i could understand. They also treated the kitten i brought in that I found in a bush with so much care hand picking and combing through to get the fleas off him. Even spent a few minutes after the closing time to get him situated to come home with me. I would never hesitate on taking my animals to happy tails. They truely love what they do and you can see it immediately!
