The staff here is absolutely amazing, I went to exchange propane and the locks were frozen. They spent about 15 to 20 minutes finding a way to unlock it, so I could get some. Great people

What an awful place. There are people that work here that are really rude to the elderly and disrespectful. They can be very insultive and cut you down for their mistakes. If you point out to them that they're being disrespectful they'll threaten to not ring you out. There's a older blonde haired woman that works there that's really rude. I will never shop here ever again.

Seems to be a bit pricey on some of the cold foods.Don't like the set up of registers.Need to do a complete remodel of this store done by a professional company that knows how to do a layout of all aisles and food section. Store would look much better as long as the employees that work there care enough to keep it clean and in order!!!

Clean and neat although the store is packed it's not messy its how it's supposed to look. Customer service Is exceptional! My cashier was a gentleman and him aaa very helpful; kind and patient. I loved my shopping experience this morning!! Q

Almost always busy. Staff does their best to keep shelves stocked. Definitely bring a mask it is tight quarters most of the time. The staff is very helpful they may not have everything but try their best with what they have .

If you want to walk around a maze than this is the place you want to go.They have shelves blocked, because no one can get stock out, I usually see maybe 2 or 3 people working and once in awhile I see only one.Corporate needs to get off their Cheap butts, quit paying the CEO Money that should be going to the people who Actually Work at the Stores and maybe they can get People who WONT MIND WORKING.Give Your Employees that Work in the Stores some Decent Hours, and Maybe Just Maybe they won't Look lily the Mess they are.

Wow day before Thanksgiving and the sign on the door says open regular hours today, but yet the door is locked. So I called the store and was told they couldn't open because there was no help. How pathetic is that. So done with this store. So I drive a little further to a family dollar.

Very clean & helpful staff. This location has clothing if needed. They have a mobile app that is easy to use & has digital coupons you can scan the barcode of items to price check or track your purchases in your cart.

This is the store in Johnstown and the employees there are great however like many of the Dollar General stores they are understaffed at all times. Need more employees on duty to put merchandise away. It can't be sold if it's still stacked on a gondola. Leaving only one employee on duty in these stores is not safe. This is a busy store .

Yes I agree with many other's assessment of this store. Messy and the customer service is hit or miss at best.Another thing to keep a close eye on is the fact that the prices on the shelves don't always match what comes up on the register. Often! Today I corrected them once again and the lady with the mean, pinched little face says "Well I don't know the prices" as if that is part of her job description...Oh wait, it is!Probably the biggest hurdle this store has is that it is right next door to Troyer's, where the customer service couldn't possibly be better, the store is always kept clean and orderly and the prices are always correct at the register. Going from there to DG is like getting dressed up for a nice dinner and then stumbling into a pool of raw sewage.Unfortunately these cookie cutter stores will always survive somehow, due to consumer apathy if nothing else. One hopes that reviews like these are taken seriously enough that attempts to improve are made. Meanwhile enjoy perusing down cluttered and cramped aisles, triple checking your receipt totals and struggling to resist the urge to strangle the soulless hag behind the counter.P.S. By the way the prices are not a bargain at any DG. The prices are lower because the portions are smaller. It's a sly little trick but that is all it is, a trick. You are way better off at Kroger down the street. If Troyer's wasn't next door and this was a quick place to grab odds and ends I doubt this store would last a month.

the dollar general in Johnstown is very disorganized and messy. You cannot get through the aisles. They are piled with shelving and boxes. Welcoming you at the front door was a mop bucket. The employees are very unfriendly, not even a thank you when I checked out. It is the same experience each time I visit the store

Quick and convenient location. Food stuff, some Hardware goods, lots of miscellaneous items. Great for last minute shopping on the North end of Johnstown, Ohio. No need to drive all the way into Johnstown for that small Dinner side, Birthday Card, Snacks etc.

Good cheap place to shop. They always have crazy deals for clothing and other items. Staff is very friendly and have never had an issue. Wish it had more.

New management has really cleaned this store up! Everything is neat and clean & organized. A much needed improvement from what it was. Kudos to them!

This store was messy unstocked and sale signs that are out of date i was shocked this store should be cleaner than the ones in Columbus and even Columbus was in better shape 😔

I have looked everywhere for HOT SPOT spray... I could not find it and I asked the cashier Scott if they had it, he said yes told me the isle, how far down and what side it was on... Now that's knowing your store... I love going to Johnstowns Dollar General, they are very curtious and willing to help the customer... On this same visit co-worker Jamie I heard him helping a customer too and he also was very helpful... This is the kind of team work DG needed... Nice job gentlemen... Thank you Deborha

General small, inexpensive discount store. Reminds me of the old general store without the penny candy as far as pick up last minute things on the way home. Similar to "dollar store" as far as merchandise & quality.

Everytime I go in this place no matter if I have 1 item or 10 I have to wait in line and have laid stuff down and left to go elsewhere. Horrible service!

I was there apparently when a store/merchandise inventory audit was in place. I mistakenly asked one of the auditors when something would be back in stock, he rudely replied he did not work there,he didn't know,and find someone who did work there and ask them. Excuse me! I must have messed up his count

Johnstown dollar store is a mess I've wasted so much gas and time trying to shop just to find another note on the door they work when it's convenient for them the store is always a disaster nobody unloads totes we can't walk down the isle without running into stacked totes

in the parking lot currently and had to get on here and write a review. the guy working threw my receipt at me instead of handing it to me and it was just rude, either hand it to me or put it in the bag.
