I think HQL has the best looking, best mannered, healthiest Labradors around . We got our first puppy Jack in 2012 and my adult son just got his first puppy from them this weekend. He said he has a great disposition, stays by his side and follows him everywhere after one day.Shannon does a great job breeding these dogs and has kept a really good clean bloodline. She treats them as part of the family so when you get them they are ready and used to social interaction. I can not say enough good things about Shannon or her Labradors

We had a hard time deciding between the two yellow males available to us at Heartland early this summer. They were both so cute and so sweet. We ultimately chose Nigel - who is now almost 9 months old. He is absolutely beautiful, smart, has a great disposition, and is easy to train. He's wonderful and gentle with small children and LOVES humans and other dogs. Shannon was responsive and helpful in our quest. We even boarded Nigel there when he was still a puppy and we knew he was in excellent care. I highly recommend Heartland Quality Labs!

We have gotten 2 dogs from Heartland. The first one was in 2013. She passed in 2023. We knew that we would get another one from Heartland. We picked up our BEEZER right before Christmas. These dogs have the best temperament. After they get through the puppy stage they are very calm and laid back. They get along with other animals and love everyone. I will always get my dogs from Heartland. You will never find a better dog.

Back in 2006 I decided I was up for the responsibilty of owning a unique Labrador, a yellow lab with the color being cream to very white. I searched and found Heartlands Quality Labrador Retrievers, and fell in love with their sire at the time, Walker's Chance of a Lifetime. 13 years later and I still have my boy Rocco that I got from Chance's litter, and he has been nothing but a joy since, and the owners were excellent in helping me since I reside outside the US (Costa Rica). I also have a 10 yr old Black Lab from Heartlands as well, and could not have been more happy with these 2 boys. Thank you Heartlands for being the very responsible breeders that you are. If you are seeking a professional, quick to respond, compassionate and topnotch kennel mom, look no further! I CANNOT praise Shannon and Heartlands Quality Labs enough! After missing out on a puppy from another breeder, we came across HQL website and reached out. Sadly, we were told all pups in the recent group were spoken for. A family who had already claimed one of the males had to back out. We were next up! Shannon reached out to me and there was no holding back. We would be getting the last pick, but we were confident he'd be a perfect fit. I will now refer to "him" as Baker! Baker has put himself in the center of all of our hearts. I cannot imagine any other puppy. He is beyond adorable and Baker has a personality that makes anyone smile. His big fur brother Gunner, who is a Black English Lab has grown very fond of him as well. DO NOT PASS UP ANY OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH HQL and Shannon. We love our baby!

We purchased a puppy boy fromHeartland this summer! Frankie is 3 months old and is so smart! We just love him so much. He is great with my three little girls❤️ So far so good! We found Heartlands Quality Labrador Retrievers ten years ago and brought home to Rhode Island our Chloe, whose father was the great Chance of a Lifetime and mother was Shannon's beloved Stubby. Chloe is such an outstanding pure English Yellow Lab (cream) that we went back twenty months ago for a second puppy, Sadie, a perfect English like Chloe, super-intelligent, affectionate, great sense of humor and a favorite at the park, loves to play with the big dogs and sensitive with the shy ones. Shannon Randolph is a preeminent ethical breeder of superb English labs, and it has been our great good fortune to know her and to have the privilege of raising two of her dogs. We got a male yellow lab, "Buddy" from Shannon 3 weeks ago. Buddy is just an absolute specimen! Crate trained in two days. Sleeps all night. He's playful and gentle. Took to the water (Lake Erie) the first time we put him in. Rides in the car and on the boat beautifully! Besides all of that, Buddy has a muscular build better than any dog I've ever seen. He's going to be his father, who was just massive, strong and muscular! I would get another pup from Shannon in a minute! Shannon was great to work with, very honest and obviously a great breeder of English Yellow Labs.

I feel Heartlands is a very fair and honest breeder. I sent full payment to Heartlands a couple of Winters ago for a pup. Well long story short my spouse suddenly had a very serious medical diagnosis. We contacted Shannon immediately and explained our situation. Shannon never hesitated about refunding our money. She was completely understanding & sent the full $$ amount back to us no questions asked. It's been a long road for us but thankfully we have all the medical issues back on track. We are looking forward to contacting her in the very near future to purchase a little bundle of joy. To anyone that feels like Heartlands is a scam maybe they should take a closer look at themselves.

Our young Tucker is just 15 months old and was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma in the eye area at 13 months that has since metastasized to the lungs. The vets have told us that this is genetic because he is so young. We contacted Heartlands Quality Labrador Retrievers to make them aware of this as they may not want to cross the same parents again. Their hearts went out to us but did not seem too concerned about this information. I felt this could be useful to future buyers. His father is Chase and mother is Abby.I would never give back Tucker because the moment we picked him up he became part of our family. We were not looking for anything just relaying information.

I have had a very bad experience with the breeder. I bought a female from them 7 years ago, and from early on she has had nothing but health problems. I noticed the mother is no longer one of the females being bred. She has hot spots and allergies every summer to where she is raw. Her mother was a chocolate female and when I saw her she was blotchy and had bald patches. I came back from vacation and had a change of heart. She told me she would keep my deposit, even though she would have had no problem selling her. I am still accruing vet bills 7 years later with my dog's allergies

These folks refused to sell me a pup that I had a $500 deposit toward. Shannon told me she " wanted to keep him " " had been offered twice as much" Broke our hearts. We had flown all the way from Houston to visit Jake at 6 weeks old. I would not trust them a bit. Make sure you see the "barn" where dogs are kept. There's a reason her dogs are so cheap. Well below all " reputable breeders" The old saying "There is always someone willing to sell something worse for less" I'm not sure the cheapest pet adoption is a good deal. It wasn't for me. The photo of pup above is a picture of Jake, who was supposed to be ours.
