I love this store. I purchased some fresh polish sausage and it was better than I buy at the meat market. Their fresh food always smells so good, they have a great variety of breads and pastry. Yesterday I purchased asparagus for 1.49 a bunch. Love this store!!

This Drug Mart is very good and customer friendly. I went in for a graduation card and ended up buying more than I intended. It was just so much to choose from. Everything is categorized and well stocked when you're looking or just browsingThanks

The food smells amazing from the parking lot. Please don't be deceived. The food is horrible. Potato wedges are hard as rocks and the boneless wings aren't better. I was very disappointed.

This is a quick one stop shop for just about everything!Where else can you go for a physical , flu shot, immunizations, cold , BPcheck at the Metrohealth Clinic located inside Discount Drug Mart and then stop by the Pharmacy for your prescriptions, and continue to do full shopping at the Deli counter, meat counter, frozen food section, and staples too, along with paint, house hold items and stationary for school and office.Home health care items from bedside commodes, lift chairs, daily care.Need a great color for your nails take a look at the Opi selection.Need fresh cut flowers or plants for home and office they have you covered.Need pet food and treats they have it too.Need a bottle of wine great selection!Not just your corner drug it's so much more! There is so much more to list, just stop in and stroll to find old school ethnic homemade treats too. Fresh bakery will greet you at the door.All of the associates are extremely helpful and this is employee owned! Great job everyone!

I usually don't bring things like this up, but today's interaction and visit irked me. Phoned in 2 Rx and one ( $300+/ month) got held up by insurance and the other was filled. Called to see if it could be held and how long but whoever I spoke with said that it was going to be returned to the shelf if I didn't get it tonight and that they're open until 9. I drop what I'm doing and race over to get it to be told by someone else that it's only been 5 days and they hold for 7 and that they'd hold it longer if asked. So much for that thing about saving you the runaround. The joke's on you though... Mail order will accomplish that.

I stopped here for some bath soap and shampoo. This is a huge store with many groceries and pharmaceuticals. You can find most of your needs here. Not as big as a regular grocery, but very well stocked. It a one stop shop. The credit card machine prompts you if you were greater properly. (I was). The cashier was very pleasant.

We love the store and used to love the quality of care we received in the pharmacy but not any longer. 1 very rude cashier who cannot say Thank You ever and 1 younger male tech who is not nice at all. I miss JD the pharmacist, since he left, just not the same. Other staff is very nice, too bad a couple ruin it for the whole place.

You need to be really careful when shopping here for food. Always be sure to check the dates so you don't find yourself buying something taking it home and realizing it expires the next day. It's happened to me multiple times.

Like the jingle said Discount Drug Mart saves you the run around. Well stocked organized store. Huge selection of just about everything at fair prices. Great grocery and bakery. Everything seems to be fresh.

While drug mart has some pretty nice employees. The new girl Amber they just hired is a breathe of fresh air ! She’s such a sweetheart very efficient fast helpful jokes around with you it’s like your talking to someone you’ve known for years . And she. has such a beautiful smile I was having a bad day and Instantly it got better once we started talking . One thing I noticed her do was help a customer who couldn’t speak any English and while everyone was kinda ignoring her she stepped in and shockingly knew Spanish and helped the lady out. It’s people like her that makes you wanna come back and shop at stores. People who are are friendly . Want to help and love to help . I will definitely be shopping on the days she works because she has very beautiful energy.

One of the best stores in town. You can find items other stores no longer carry. I left a valuable poncho given to me by a loved one. The employees saw it and returned it to me when I returned to the store. So very grateful.

The pharmacist cat thinks she knows better than the doctors and won't fill your prescription if she has any personal politics involved so good luck I'll be getting all my stuff transferred to somewhere else out of fear of this pharmacist management taking revenge on me

In regards to the Pharmacy - just go somewhere else. The store inside is gross and dingy anyway. I have been here 3x today to pick up a script that wasn’t ready. And yes I called the second time (the first time I came 2 hours after it was supposed to be ready). Telling my neighbor and brother about them today - they BOTH had the same issue. When I finally did get my script there were 2 in one bag and they couldn’t figure that out. Apparently the word on the street is stay away from this drug Mart but pretty much all drug Mart have issues with prescription in the area I’m told.UPDATE: This place is a NIGHTMARE (I wish I could make that word BIG AND BOLD. My gramma INSISTS on coming here for her meds. She is now OUT of her meds because of their constant screw ups. I called to confirm a pickup (total waste of time as its never ready). Confirmed the meds would be ready in 3 hours. I go by 4 hours later because we were driving by and not only are they not ready, I'm told she has no refills until Nov 1 (this was Sept 20). THREE people were on the computer looking for my gramma's prescriptions. I was told the person on the phone who told me the meds would be ready works for the call center and they don't have all the information?????????????????? So I call the doctors office who confirms THREE prescriptions should be filled between now and Sept 24. They said they would have to send a note to Drug Mart and get back to me. Of course I forgot and three days later no one has called so I call Drugmart today and am told there are two prescriptions that were filled on Sept 20! I am moving her scripts to Walgreen's. Every time I tell a friend one of my stories about Drugmart and my gramma's meds they say "Oh yeah - don't go to Drugmart for scripts - go ANYWHERE but there."If you do go there, ask for Dawn. She seems to be the ONLY one who knows whats going on there.

Been going to the Pharmacy since moving to Independence 18 years ago. Recent experiences have not been great. Call in prescriptions to the automated system and have had issues multiple times. Enrolled in the auto refill program, also have had issues. Went to pharmacy to pick up prescriptions and were not ready, said I never called in. Ask if I was still in auto refill program, told yes. Ask what happened with my prescriptions and was treated rudely and told to come back in 40 minutes. Used that 40 minutes to transfer to another pharmacy. Not sure what happened over the course of the past couple of years, but not the same service I used to receive.

They do have a great variety of in stock items at all times but racism is still very real. From the employee’s to the customer’s . They definitely make you feel unwelcome. I usually go to the one on Dunham, they treat us like family there. I come here only for a emergency.

I never complain or write reviews, but trying to get a prescription transferred and the pharmacy staff are just completely rude and unhelpful. They told me someone will call me on Friday, I never got a call so I call back a few days later and I get “oh you should probably try to call back around noon or something next week” and then she proceeded to rush me off the phone and tell me she doesn’t know anything about my last conversation with the pharmacy because “it wasn’t her I spoke to on Friday” and got an attitude with me for asking questions about why there are no notes regarding this transfer in my account. Whoever I spoke to Friday also rushed me off the phone, kept speaking over me and clearly didn’t put the notes in my account that he said he would. The last two employees I have spoken to acted like they had no time for a 3 minute phone call. After reading previous reviews, it looks like I am not the only one who has had these experiences recently.

The pharmacy staff is probably the rudest group of people I have ever encountered. I been going there for awhile as well as my entire family but we are all ready to go elsewhere. They are always rude, they make you wait even though they see you. They dont know much about the department they work in and do not explain anything when you ask a question, they just blow you off or ignore you. They are just generally an unhelpful group that do not value their customers.

While other pharmacies were unwilling to quote me a price on my rather expensive prescription until they actually had the prescription and entered me into their "system," the courteous people at DDM, Independence gave me a price over the phone. I then delivered the prescription, they ordered the med(nobody keeps it in stock) and I had it in a day or 2. The refill process was even easier. I also never spent much time in line or on hold.

I have been a devoted DDM customer for decades. That just may have ended. My doctor started me on B12 shots. I brought the prescription for a box of 100 needles/syringes toDDM. After 1 hour, they gave me 3 for $6.89 and were very terse when I asked why they didn'tfill the script as written. Today, I ordered a box of 100 online for $20 something. This is not at all the service I expect from DDM. Long wait plus attitude plus excessive charges. Super disappointed
