A little Hidden Gem a sweet spot among the beautiful lands of Geauga County. Not to mention if you're a jog County resident you're able to use them for free. Campgrounds are great the lake and surrounding area is fantastic see wildlife non-stop Birds diving for fish herons Eagles you name it. Not to mention the memories that you'll have made with your family whenever you're going with or even if it's yourself. Very accommodating so much to do boardwalks places to set up hammocks. Our family and I come here every single weekend. Our boys are 13 and 14 and just enjoy just as much as they did when they were younger. We love this place there's nothing else to it. Just remember to please keep it clean.

A great trail to bike and just chill and enjoy. The trail (last time I visited) is blocked off from bikers. Most of these photos are from off trail biking in the area. I always state, "All Roads Lead to Adventure". I would not have seen the great countryside if I did not venture off trail.

Headwaters is a great multi-use park. We've been here for hiking, biking, trail riding, and kayaking. Campsites are also available and very popular. Easy to launch canoes and kayaks into the reservoir. Bald Eagles and water birds are common visitors. The bridle trail is also the people trail and the buggy cut-through, so if your horse is new to buggies be cautious. The main trail is wide and gravel. The bike trail is paved.

This was our first time here. It was an unplanned visit. It was beautiful. We did see what we think was an invasive species in the lake, there is a photo posted below. It is purple colored, in the center of the photo. The mouth is on the lower left. It was eating algae. The eye was on the flat side on top left. Freshwater Bryozoan possibly?

5 mile walk from one end to the other and back with a side trail, not really any complaining after the kids went to bed, great way to tire them out.Restrooms: The bathrooms were what you expect for a nature park, pit toilets with no running water.Dog-friendliness: Lots of people walking their dogs, riding horses, and getting out for some fresh air.Picnic area: They have some pavilions and tables near designated fishing spots

Amazing place to visit, less than a mile from home. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking and all the nature you can handle! I love my back yard!

Absolutely gorgeous campground. Had read reviews that it was a "hidden gem", and nothing could be more true. For $10 a night, this place is a steal. Didn't reserve enough in advance to get one of the lean-to campsites (same price as the tent sites), but we'll definitely be back to stay in one of those as well. As it was, we set up our hammocks and enjoyed some peace and quiet and campfire cooking.

Great place to kayak and relax. The water level is way down right now though so it makes it a little difficult to launch though.

Many people were there the day, we went in beginning of June. Once the season slows a bit its peaceful. Rented Kayaks and enjoyed two hours of Wide River time. Everyone was respectful of each others space and not too much sound to disturb the natural beauty. Bathrooms near most parking spots, grills and picnic tables in shaded spots.

This is such a gorgeous park. One of these days I need to go camping here. They have done a really nice job building quiet campsites. The trails are beautiful with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees, and of course the water is lovely. I also plan to use their free kayak program this summer.

One of the many great reservable shelters from Geauga Parks District. Always kept clean, and a great location right by the lake. If your group likes to canoe or kayak this is a great space to reserve and launch from. You can launch from there even if you're not reserving the shelter but what a neat way to have an all-inclusive get together!

Camped here as a kid many years ago nice to see camping back even if its only on a limited basis. I hope the lower lake level is only a temporary issue but it's still a great place for fishing and kayaking.

The driving area was well plowed out trails were clear the lodge is great! They have a fireplace which you can start a fire and be very warm. It's a great place to have a gathering as long as you clean up after yourself which we did. Very user friendly the entire park. Of course we couldn't use the water area as it was possibly Frozen but not enough to be out on.
