I have been coming here since I was a child, It is a wonderful place to come relax, explore, swim, BBQ, Getting away from life. Even if it is just for a moment. This is a great place to bring your family and a great place to start new memories.

This place is iconic. I went here for my entire lifetime and I'm 65. My grandpa took my dad here. Now Hinckley lake is being drained for much needed improvements. It's still a great place to walk around the lake and take in the beautiful scenery.Restrooms: Restrooms are clean and large. They have changing areas in them too.

Nice open area to get a sunrise picture. Swimming aloud, sometimes lifeguard is on site. Kids could swim or play in the creek by the spillway. Picnic tables available. Small sandy beach area. Fishing can be done on the other side of the spillway

Great Park. The dam is a great place to swim. Just make sure you shower later on. They started draining the lake and hopefully work progresses on time.

The spillway area is great for swimming and wading in a safe and shallow area. The water is often muddy but it is safe to go in. There is a nice concession stand right next to this area but it is still closed in the summer of 2021, I guess still due to the pandemic. You can get snacks at the boat house if you need to. There is a big parking lot right next to this swimming area also. There are picnic tables nearby and restrooms that are clean. The park does a wonderful job of keeping the entire area clean and safe. It is truly a beautiful place.

This place is great for kids of all ages! The water isn't too deep and there is also a separate area for wading. Kids can bring floats too! The food/bathroom area is not open as of today.

Great place to bring the family!!! They have clean restrooms and a place for kids of all ages to play in the water. There's the deeper side of the bridge where you can swim and then the shallow side where you can skip rocks. Fair warning, the swim side gets kinda deep really quick. Environment is clean and it's beautiful. Kind of a great little highlight of Northeast Ohio.

Very nice place to cool off. We really liked how they have an area for the kids to wade in the steam. She loved looking for crayfish.Picnic area: They are picnic tables with grills all over.

I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid, still the same fun place to hang out! Only downfall is they don’t allow floats, you’d have to wait til the lifeguards are gone at 7pm to use your floats (tubes, etc). If you have sensitive feet I’d recommend wearing water shoes as the bottom of the swim area is gravel. They have concession but the only food offered is nachos and soft pretzels, they have drinks, candy, chips and ice cream.Restrooms: Restrooms have showers, toilets, changing areas.Picnic area: There is a lot of picnic tables and grills!

Hinckley Lake is a beautiful area, and the spillway is a nice part of it. Definitely going back.

Beautiful lake. Another terrific Metro Park. Dog friendly. We came in the winter so we just were able to hike around the lake. The path includes beautiful mature pines. Will come back in the summer to paddle this lake.Dog-friendliness: There were a lot of dogs when we were there with our dogs. Everyone was well behaved and having a great time.

Visited to see what it looks like partially drained. We relocated about 60- 70 large fresh water mussels from the lake bed mud, to yhe outlet creek!!!Restrooms: Restrooms

My kids love it here. In season there are life guards and areas roped off for swimming. Out of season is swim at your own risk. Creek on other side of swimming area is good for catching crayfish.

The swimming area underneath the spillway is perfect for small kids: it’s just the right size that it’s not too big that you lose sight of them from where you’d be posted from the sand banks, and shallow enough that kids bigger than 3 or 4 won’t need flotation devices anymore. As small as it is, it’s great that Cleveland Metroparks still has at least three lifeguards on duty watching over the swimmers. The rest of the park surrounding the swimming area is beautiful too: Hinckley Lake is serene and picturesque, surrounded almost throughout its entire perimeter by thick woods.

Found this park when we got detoured off of 303 today. We a great place to cool off and have a picnic! We didn't have our suits with us, but we will definitely be back to enjoy the beach, the swimming area and the shallow river area and also the lake above it!

Awesome place! Nice and clean, lifeguards are on duty, restrooms as well as changing rooms. Don't jump off the waterfall, the lifeguards get upset.

We walk to loop once a week. Always nice there, 3.3 miles and 210 feet elevation.Playground: They added a playground on East.Restrooms: Pit toiletsDog-friendliness: Yes...lots of dogs.Picnic area: There's a few spots, but only one shelter past the boat dock.
