Got my precious Bama (strawberry short cake) there and she has been just what we needed after losing our dog! She is spoiled rotten. She gets whatever toy she wants sleep between my husband and i in our bed. She is a princess and she knows it. Thank you to the human society! We love her to pieces!

These girls are amazing. They've assisted me in finding my latest family member, Boomer, the Super Heeler, whom I've come to love dearly. They've directed us in getting every stray cat I could get my hands on spayed or neutered. Thank you all so much! Truly a work of heart.

A loving, caring staff for these animals. Originally I went there to meet a dog they had posted online, but unfortunately she was not a good match, not on her part, but mine. It was obvious she was abused, more than likely from a male, as she was agressive towards my other half. If I had more free time I may have considered adoption. But this little gal deserved someone who could go all in with her to work with her, show lots of patience and love and convince her that she'd never be harmed again. Ultimately, it was the last dog walking back through the kennel, the one you couldn't see as you walked in because the door blocked your view of her, that stole my heart ❤️. Miss Molly gave me the same look as my late boy Jake, who I had to make the hardest decision to put down a little over a year ago after 16 years of friendship. Instant love. That day I found my new best friend and she found her forever home. It's only been a week and a few days but it's as if she's been with us her whole life. I think my former dog was reincarnated. I swear by it. (Ironically, Molly is also the name of my first dog as well when I was a youngin'.) She was definitely meant to be with me. Thank you to the staff for caring for her and the rest of the animals. You're doing a great job. And I'm thankful and empathetic to Molly's previous owner. That had to be a very hard decision to make because she is just the sweetest thing ever. If you ever read this, just know she's in very good hands. I'm spoiling her rotten! It was definitely worth the hour drive! 💓💓💓💓💓💓PS: This little hidden gem runs on donations, so if you could help them out when you can, please donate money, food (for dogs and cats) or your time.

Super friendly staff onsite, everyone that works here is very caring toward the animals and genuinely want to help find these pets their forever homes. Very helpful and responsive in all communications and process. Hoping all goes while with our foster pup so we can adopt :]

Got a couple of animals here. 2 cats and a dog. They take care of you and the animals. You get the the near term vet care as well (shots) and any incomplete spay/neuter due to the animals' age.Nothing really crazy or abnormal issues generally, although I did see one

Leaving a 5 star review because I believe they deserve it! They work hard to keep these animals healthy and happy! They also help many people in need! I had a cat who I needed to surrender to them and they took him in with open arms! They cared for him and they helped him. Now he is off to a better family. They work so hard and you can see it in their posts and on their faces. It’s not easy taking care of animals with troubled pasts or an array of needs but they do it and they do it well! And with out complaint. Keep up the good work huyan don’t let these haters get you down!

If you ever contact this place about cats on the loose. Don't! Even a state law doesn't exist in Highland County. Negative 5 star!!!!!

I am sharing my feelings about this shelter denying a friend of mine adoption of a dog because she did not have a fenced -in yard. As the owner of 3 large dogs, a fenced -in yard is not a big deal if you walk your dog and play with them outside, take them to dog parks, etc. The love and caring are what is important. And this person is so devastated by not getting this dog. It's inhumane for the person as well as the dog. You people talk a good game about wanting to get the animals a good home and then when one comes along they are denied because of the lack of a fence. This person had things already on order for her dog and was planning puppy play dates with my dog. We walk every night when it cools down and my dog goes with me everywhere even to work. You could find out more from a better interview what kind of owner a person is going to be other than denying based on the lack of a fence. This dog I can guarantee would not be staked outside or left in the yard by themselves. As I said before there are other more important things like love, caring, and attention than a fenced -in yard. With so many dogs needing homes I think you need to explore other methods for determining ownership other than a fence.Yes, I am talking about the Great Dane. and the dog came up to Amanda and sniffed her hand and the people there said that was a first. Amanda is not new to Danes. Also it is very hard to escape when the dog is on a leash when it is out. Your being very near-sighted and the dog is missing a good home. She was in Ross County Humane Society before she came to you and Amanda would have had no problem getting the dog. You profess to be for placing dogs in good homes, then practice what you preach.

Great shelter that clearly cares about staff and pets! I recently adopted a puppy from here and can tell she was well taken care of, while in their care. They were friendly and attentive and made sure to answer all my questions. If you're looking for an addition to your family, check them out!

Staff and volunteers working hard to rescue and spay/neuter the stray and feral animals in our area and find them new forever homes! They are doing great work on bringing the facility up to standard and beyond! Thank you for all your hard work and for caring!

Everyone at this animal care shelter were professional, delightful people to meet. The adoption process was straightforward and painless and you could tell while you were there that they cared about all their Little Critters :-)

Melissa and Megan are amazing! We just got 2 dogs from them. One of the dogs got out a few days after bringing them home and we couldn't find him. They drove 45 minutes after working all day to help us look for him. They really do go above and beyond and truly care for the well being of the animals. Thank you guys so much.

Everything was great when getting a dog but when it came to having her spayed things fell apart. They cancelled on everyone and said they had called to let everyone know the night before their appt but the line of cars waiting there this morning for a spay or neuter sure were surprised... and I got to be one of those lucky folks. I didn't get any sort of call so not sure what happened but I missed time from work, drove an hour one way, and was turned away. 😑 disheartening.

If there are angels on earth trying to help animals, then this must be the place. My family and I drove 759 miles(yes, you read correct 759 miles) from connecticut to meet our forever pet Allis..we could not be happier. Our adoption was approved within 48 hours prior to our arrival. All we had to do upon arrival was sign some papers and meet our future companion. The people are so nice and accommodating, it is almost unbelievable. They truly intend on finding every pet a home and they go out of their way to do so. No BS talk or nonsense. i highly recommend this place. Yes, it is far. Yes, it may be a hassle. Yes, you may rather buy than adopt. However, all i can tell you is PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely hate this place!! They do not care ive been there 3 times in the past month and everytime they are just sitting at the picnic table eating it was 12:05 and they just opened at 12 and they were all sitting down eating and none of them even pretended to care to help me at all. The next time it was 1:11 and they were all sitting at the table eating tacobell. I just thought to myself is that the only reason they are there is to have group lunch together?? Maybe think about the starving animals and the hurt and sick animals first. First off of your closed to the public then maybe close your gates off, secondly it wasnt judging off a 1 time experience it happened 3 different times. Im sorry but if the gates are open and it says open from 12-5 then why wouldnt i assume it wasnt open to the public? Also does that mean you dont care about animals on days your not open to the public?

A few years ago you pictured a black female dog by the name of Jellybean on Facebook. We came to check her out. She liked no one. I remember a man and maybe another person tried her out but brought her back. She would not make up with anyone. We came and spent about 1 1/2 hours with her. To no avail. You said for us to try her at home and before the Eve was over she was our dog. She has turned into an amazingly sweet and loving dog. She still does not warm up immediately to everyone but does to many. We love her so much. She became Scarlett when we knew she was ours. So if you remember Jellybean...a small all black very frightened girl rest assured she is thriving. Thank you.

The facility is small, but well managed. The small staff are friendly and busy. There is a no-kill animal shelter located next door that houses several animals as well. Both deserve our support.

Caring group of people trying to bring the facility and services back up to expectations. Hopefully they will finally get support from the community so they can provide the services they would like to offer and continue to improve.Great job ladies!

My family and I had an amazing experience at HSHC. We were so impressed with the staff there that we drove all the way from New Hampshire to Sebring, FL for our rescue Smokey. They are very committed to doing what is right for the animals in their care. They are compassionate, kind and great to work with.

I just got my new best from them. Very clean and professional. I really do like the fact that they check out the back ground of everybody that's there to insure that the animals they have go to a good home. And cant thank them enough for mine. Thank you from a very grateful disabled veteran.

These people are angels, they helped me with my pets when we had a very cold winter years ago. They took my dogs and their puppies to their shelter to get them out of the weather and found homes for the puppies and brought back my dogs fixed I would recommend them to anyone who has to give up their pets. They care about the animals very much.
