It really is awesome to get some puppy love, just hard to not take them home. Staff was very friendly and informative, documented exactly what breeders the puppies came from and had pictures of the safety checks that had been done at each facility. They are pricey though! VERY pricey

If I could I truly would give zero starts. Please read this comment fully before deciding to visit petland. I'm 20 years old. Last year around the beginning of December I decided I wanted to get a pet. Something small that would help with the loneliness. I had decided to go to petland knowing they have a variety of animals to look at. I had met an older guy white with long hair. I wish I remembered the name but i don't. I told him I'm new to having pets and I'm looking for a hamster. He showed me a few and I looked for a bit. They were adorable and I was so excited! I picked the last syrian hamster they had who was cage alone. She was the color of buttercream and her name was heaven. I told the same employee that I know little to nothing about hamsters but happy to learn. I made sure to ask plenty of questions and get the man's help picking out the bedding food and toys. I picked everything out and went to cash out. Let me start by saying the first you he recommended was a fake wooden carrot with a green top. I didn't notice until a few days later but heave began to eat the green part witch was nothing but long strips of plastic. I assumed it was rope at first but after noticing her try to eat the plastic I had to take it out. My second problem was the bedding. I asked what bedding is safe and comfortable for her. He pulled off pine and cedar from the top shelf and handed it too me saying this is what I should use. If you going it it's EXTREMELY toxic for small animals and shouldn't be sold let alone recommended. I loved heaven She was sweet and cuddly and LOVED treats. But one month later she sadly passed away while I was trying to hold her. I held her in a rag on a heatpad until she fully passed then I let her go in the river. I cried for a few days and went back. The lady I talked to almost didn't give me a hamster because it had been a month but after a little arguing she agreed. The second one lasted 2 weeks. I took a few months before going back. When I went back I spoke to a manager telling him everything his employee had put me though. He offered me another free hamster which I was not there to get another but just to let them know what happened. I was reluctant but saw another syrian hamster who was the biggest I've seen. This time I did more research changed the bedding got better toys and everything. The hamster seemed okay for a couple weeks and by okay I mean it was alive. But despite this being the biggest hamster it was the least friendly. It bites quite often and doest seem to like people. Well I found her dead in her cage yesterday morning. I'm not sure what happened or why. None of these hamsters showed sign of wet tail. They all had the medicine, plenty of food and water. The last one seemed miserable the whole time and it was so sad I almost took it back but I didn't want it to spend anymore time at that awful place. I'm traumatized from this experience and if your looking for a pet for you or your kids PLEASE I BEG YOU GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE. No one deserves to go through what this experience has put me through. Please ignore the smile. I had no idea that baby heaven was dying yet. I thought maybe she was tired until I couldn't get her back up. I loved heaven and very much wish I still had her.

Switched to franchise recently. Got rid of member rewards , got rid of “zignature” kangaroo, got rid of the reptiles , fish … feels totally different now….I will not continue to ship here anymore …. This was the last straw … many of the dogs for sale had mini hernias that were surgically fixed ( which is ok , but why did so many have hernias we saw , maybe 2/3 out of 10 )Taking my business somewhere else . Good luck , I see this store going out of business in less then 2 years . Poof

Puppies look well taken care of, however staff was nowhere to be found. Only one woman (she was so nice) helped us out the whole time. When we asked the large, bearded man if he could help us, he said sure and literally walked away and stood on his phone. It took him 20 minutes to come back, and then he turned and stood on his phone the rest of the time we were there. He was very rude, and I did not see him even do his job. I work with pets myself, and I understand a quick 5 minute phone break is needed sometimes. However not when multiple people are around and asking for help. Bless the blonde woman behind the counter, she was so busy and seemed to be the only one who wants to work there.

I love the puppy we bought here. However the staff especially the manager has no knowledge of pet lands services nor is he likely to help his staff. He stood there while I was quoted $4,200 for a puppy he was behind the associate telling her how to check it. I then ended up paying $4,900 for just the puppy before tax. That does not include any of their packages. I was then explained how their AKC registration and first vet visit function. None of those worked on the way the manager described. I also checked to see if financing options were available. He said we can see a pre-approval. I now have 3 new credit cards I thought I was only checking a pre-approval. In the end I put it on my chase card anyways not using their finance options.When I called their support center the customer service representative said they had no history of my purchase and would need to call the manager to get my receipt despite me having my receipt in my hands. Buying a puppy should be a happy experience but apparently only if you don't buy it from petland. Also our puppy came home from their with kennel cough.

2 stars because the puppies are perfect but the staff wasn’t very friendly and when we expressed concern in regard to a larger dog beating up on a much smaller puppy we were told they were just playing. We stood there for a good 2 minutes watching this puppy get beat up on before she defended herself. We just don’t feel like the size difference of the dogs should have them in the same cage.

They will sell dogs and pen them, but won't sell mice, mealworms or any live creatures to feed other animals. It's called the circle of life. Its ridiculous!! Lost our business.

One of the dirtiest, most unkept pet stores in all of Columbus. Fish tanks covered in algae, dead fish floating in the tanks, no heat lights on the reptiles, reptiles kept in too small of enclosures, all it really seemed like they cared about were the puppies, and even then when we wanted to look at a puppy that we were interested in purchasing, not one person asked us if we needed help. Walked around for thirty minutes with our being asked if we needed help once. To to literally any other pet store but here

Devoted to this place. They are allowing everyone to spend time with as many dogs as you want. And there is no time limit to spend with them. Very clean and very caring too.

Super disappointed. I was looking to adopt this ADORABLE male ferret they had, as having 3 from other petlands and 2 parrots from petland this petland was SUPER disappointing! Nobody came up to help me at all. I got avoided, and the associates on staff did not speak to me and did not once ask if I needed help after attempting to get someone’s attention 6+ TIMES and I was in there for OVER an hour. This is ridiculous! Other petlands I’ve went to have made it such an experience this one absolutely NOT. Will go back to see if they still have the ferret, but if I do adopt him, I will never be returning again.

Every Petland is a different experience because many are franchised.This Hilliard one has different owners than it had a few years ago and the place looks and smells much better. I could see a difference as soon as I walked in. This is one of the best Petlands I've seen.It's generally quite clean and the animals look alert and healthy.

Brought our new bunny home 5 days ago. It was sneezing when we brought it home. Thought nothing of it until the sneezing gradually got worse. By the 5 day we had the bunny I took it to the vet... It has snuffles (respiratory infection)... I paid 200$ for the bunny and the enclosure then had to turn around and drop 100$ on the vet for antibiotics. Thanks petland for not taking care of your pets and selling sick animals!This review was posted before they agreed to reimburse me for my vet visit!... I went in to petland to get my reimbursement and they were mad I left a bad review. Printed my review off from Google and slapped it on the counter in front of me and said corporate will be mailing me my money. So not only are they selling sick pets they are childish and petty and mad because I told the truth in my review!

i purchased a dog from a different pet land that is now closed 14 years ago, he died 3 days before christmas, he was a very cheap dog only $150, please breed ur dogs to live longer i miss my homie

Got a dog from petland a year ago almost exactly. They wouldn't bathe him so that should have tipped me off right there. I paid good bit of money for a dog they didn't want to bathe. Refused. Get him home...can't kennel him he freaks out. Dogs on meds because of anxiety issues. Separation issues are so bad can't walk out of the room for long before he panics. Has been very hard experience for my whole family. I do not recommend buying from them.

To be fair, I only shop at this location for the selection of betas. They randomly have. Very hard to get help in the fifth section. Staff is usually very busy shoving puppies and people's hands as they walk through the door. Store is usually very clean. If you can get someone to help you, they are usually nice too.

Staff are always very kind. The cost of dogs is insane. I understand overhead but $3-5k for a puppy is not reasonable. Consider eliminating all the “extras” you get and just selling the pup at a reasonable price. These pups are missing out on great homes because people can’t afford to pay thousands for a puppy. That extra money should be saved towards future vet bills/maintenance/training etc.

Good selection of food and products for your dog. Prices are reasonable, but certainly not a bargain. They have adorable dogs of many breeds in glass enclosures, with cubicles to play with puppies in. Extremely high prices on the pups, with financing available. Don’t fall in love, you may end up with a small car payment.

I purchased a puppy a year ago and bought her outright. Well she passed away 2 weeks ago. When we bought her the company said they come with a 3 year warranty which I thought was great. Well now the company won't stand behind what they say bc we didn't buy a warranty. Last I knew I was told all dogs come with that 3 yr warranty. Was never told I had to pay for it. Long story short they won't refund me the money and they won't make it right. Always do your back ground work on this company they will screw you over good.
