Buyer beware!Locally owned by a very nice family. The service is great and generally if you ask them if something will work they will say yes, regardless of whether it's probably true. I love browsing their new shipments and oddball fish that are hard to find outside of Columbus but you are taking a huge risk. I pulled the trigger on 2 discus from here and despite 6 months and 1 year, respectively, I could not get weight on these fish and they eventually both succumbed to whirling and sudden death. Their prices are amazing but you are gambling on poor quality fish. I am happy they've been in business all these years and I can't resist visiting now and then but nothing has lasted long term (not the case with discus shipped to me or fish bought from Cbus stores I've had for years). Please, be careful and quarantine!!!

For a smaller building, they have a great selection of aquatic life to choose from. New fish arrive every Wednesday, and she hand picks exotic and hard to find fish to keep your tank looking fresh and interesting! Swing by and check them out.

Owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. No longer sells aquariums but does stock a lot of different fish. Very good prices on fish. Have some accessories but lots of fish to choose from. They have been selling for many years so lots of experience. Very nice fish from there. Have not had any problems. It is my first choice in fish here.

Fish were sick when I bought them and spread Ich through my entire tank before dying a few days later. One of the only places that has no guarantees on their fish, now I know why. Do not recommend and won't ever go back. Almost $60 for two fish, which infected my entire tank before dying. Don't waste your money here, go some place with healthy fish and a guarantee.

This is THEE best place to spend your money on any fish/aquarium needs. An adorable older couple owns/operates this store in their attached garage-turned store. Not only are their sellable- fish well cared for, but you should feel good about supporting a small business. A lot of their prices are cheaper than larger retail stores, and in my experience- the fish are better, too! We bought all these guys from their shop and they have gotten huge! - which, in the past, this shop will also take/buy healthy fish that have gotten too large for your tank.•You really can not beat the service and quality.

Very friendly family owned place with a good selection of fish and aquarium supplies. Very very good prices. I love this place. If there was anything negative I would have to say it would be that they do not have offer a guarantee on there fish. Most places offer at least a three day return for any dead fish given a water sample. That being said they have very healthy and well taken care of fish. If you know how to take care of fish, this shouldn't be a problem. However every once and a while some stock just don't make it, and it would nice to have a return policy.

The owners are very nice and very knowledgeable. However this is the third time I have bought seemingly healthy fish from them and every single fish I bought was dead in less than a week. The guppies specially were full of parasites. I’m so glad that I have a quarantine tank and didn’t loose any of my other fish. I treat my quarantine tank with General cure and Furan 2 the first time around. The fish were all gone before I could start up a different treatment plan. I would very much like to support this business but I haven’t gotten any healthy fish from them.

The owners are nice BUT our experience with this store was Horrible!! We went to the store without any knowledge of fish and thought they would steer us in the right direction. Boy, were we wrong!! They told us to start our tank with 6 to 8 fish and that crabs and frogs were fine too. We purchased 7 fish, 2 fiddler crabs and 1 frog. Four days later, we have 1 fish and the 2 crabs. Everything else DIED!! They failed to tell us these crabs will try to kill the fish. I wish I would have done my google-search before everything started to die. Fiddler crabs should not be with fish.I thought I could trust the long-time owners of this store...$70 worth of fish down the drain.

Great knowledgeable local fish store where you can get fish that big name stores do not carry. Have had excellent fish from here and have only once gotten a diseased fish with ich. I do not believe the sick fish was the fault of RJ's aquarium and will continue to buy from here. Thanks for all the great fish and information RJ's!

I used to live in Hebron not far from here. I had 3 freshwater tanks 20g, 20g, 50g. As well as a 40g saltwater. All of my supplies came from here. Very sweet couple. Huge variety. If your fish die its it's probably your fault. Out of the hundreds of fish i bought, I rarely had issues with health. Usually i accidentally mixed friendly fish with something more aggressive.

I really like RJ's. Their prices are very competitive. They have a fairly large selection and you can find unique choices, you may not see without going to a larger city. The family that owns it very nice and I had a very good time.

bought 4 fish at $33.00 and all died within 9 days. The owners wouldn't even acknowledge that the had ever had previous problems but their reviews clearly prove they are not a place place to do business with. They wouldn't even offer a discount to keep me as a CUSTOMER. RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE BUYS FROM THESE PEOPLE!.

My husband and I came in to see what we needed to do to start a new tank that we had bought for our son, it was a 30 gallon tank. They said we needed a filtration system which we had and a heater, along with the chemical to make the PH in the water ok to add fish. We bought the heater and the chemical from them that day. Again we told them we were new at owning fish and we knew nothing about what to do with the aquarium. They said that is all we needed to do. A week later we brought our son in to get his fish, this was on 11/25/2017. We ended up getting 13 different fish from them and from several different tanks. Spending almost $65.00 there. Well by day 2, 6 of them had already died. My husband called them on 11/27/2017 and spoke with the woman owner and she said sometimes that happens when you add that many fish and to bring the water in and they would test it. Again they never told us this when we bought the fish, stating we shouldn't buy that many or that we should even test our water. Now it is 12/01/2017 we have 2 fish left in our tank and a son who is very upset all of his fish died. I would never buy from them again. We thought this would be the best place to go because they have been there for years and should be very knowledgeable. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Small mom and pop shop with far reaching connections. Not sure what all the negative is about? I've been getting fish there for YEARS and keep returning there. The tanks are NOT dirty. Do these people even know what they're looking at? Waters are very clear. I've never seen algae on their tanks. Every time I go to another place I always find myself back at RJs. They get new shipments every Wednesday and people in the community KNOW so if u go on a Monday/Tuesday, then ur getting what's left over. Keep that in mind

Saltwater coral tank totally overtaken with aptasia and algae, not taken care of. Noticed many saltwater fish with very bad ich in tanks where the new fish are being added. If you buy fish here, better plan on quarantine and treating them before adding to your main tank or they will die and good chance of wiping out your other fish. They do not display the knowledge of salt water aquariums and the needs as far as lighting and flow or health. Seems they’re just in it for fish coming in and fish being sold. Yes they are nice, brother and sister but nice has nothing to do with the above.

Nice people. But I did see dead fish in tanks that's not good and other that are sick if you buy fish I would med them. Their prices are reasonable.
