I know the owner of this Marathon/Food Mart, and he is a good man. He is an excellent cook; the burgers are very good; made to order. He has great customer service. He is professional and very friendly. When you stop in, there is a small town, "down home" atmosphere.The price of gasoline is very competitive, and not just in Gratis, but in all of Preble County. Actually, the prices on everything in the store are competitive with any other place in the area. And that is not easy to do compared with the larger stores/gas stations, but he does it.The store is very clean considering that it is an older building. I have not ever seen it dirty; always clean floors, coolers, shelves, etc. I know that the owner takes pride in the cleanliness of his store. And the outside of the store is kept clean as well. The building could use a fresh coat of paint, but even so it is not that bad.The coolers are well stocked, and with a nice variety of products. The shelves also are well stocked, and considering the size of the store, he does a good job keeping them that way. Some of the smaller shelves may seem to be half empty, but that's to be expected when they contain some of the best selling products.Overall, I recommend stopping for gasoline (at good prices), or any other things that you may need from the store. It's a good place for a quick stop (cigarettes, snacks, drinks, alcohol) or even a fresh burger! The service is excellent, and you will not be disappointed. Stop in and support your locally owned establishment. Your business is greatly appreciated, and you will always get service with a smile.
