I needed to find a home for a stray cat and started explaining the circumstances. The lady on the phone was extremely rude listening to my accent she assumed I was Hispanic and sarcastically said listen por fa bor. I told her never mind I don't need your rudeness and disconnected the phone. She called back yelling at me saying I was rude. I told her she was rude assuming I was Hispanic. She said she speaks 3 languages. I said I was speaking in very clear and correct English and did not need to take insult or rudeness from her. She told me the line was being recorded, so please listen to her rudeness and decide for yourself. I told her I did not need her rudeness or help and she went off on me. Most horrible encounter of my day. You have Rabid people taking care of the poor animals there. Shame on her!!! She just gave your place the worst reputation. I want no calls or interactions or help from any of you. That lady told me i needed help, MENTAL HELP. You need to assess the mental health of your employees and if you are the owner, SHAME ON YOU!!!She tried calling me back again...please tell her to stop. I don't need ignorant racist people like her talking to me. Thank you.

Horrible service. I called no answer. We get there and, she said we didn’t call very rudely and we did call she did not answer. Then she starts harassing my daughter about her looks. Telling her little brothers she’s embarrassed for them. I’m embarrassed for her. We walk up and she’s with another customer, we are looking at a cat and my daughter said I like this one, she proceeds to scream in my daughters face “I have other customers you can wait” which is fine but she will not talk to my daughter like that. Then I say, “ok I don’t like your attitude I’m going to leave “ then she proceeds to scream that the Austic kids come first, mind you there was only a older lady there. We were looking for a cat to save but instead got harassed. Yes but that was completely unnecessary and immature when we are trying to save this cat. Also mind you we could smell the place from our car, the maintenance was horrible, all the cats were crying to get out. This place needs shut down. I’m in worry of the cats health and needs. It smelled so bad. Completely unsafe for cats, kittens, anyone and especially autistic people. If this is how she treats us I can’t imagine how she treats these animals. The cats wanted out so bad.

I called to see about resources in regards to my 2 cats that unfortunately have to be placed due to unforseen financial reasons. She was so very rude and was yelling at me. I can't even fathom behaving in such a way to someone who is trying to get resources on what's best for the cats she supposedly loves so much. Unreal. Wish I would of read the reviews before I called

Very very rude woman! Called a little before 7pm because their hours state they’re open til 7:30pm and she literally yelled at me that it was late and starting screaming. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Went to try and adopt. Pulled in no one was there. Went to leave and a lady I’m assuming the owner tried to pull in while I was wait to pull out. She was screaming at me to get out when I couldn’t. There was no where for me to go. So she went up and over the curb to scream at me more. Finally was able to get out of the parking lot and she was taking pictures of my car, which whatever. But the fact is I was trying to adopt a new family member after losing ours. I won’t waste my time and don’t recommend you to either. Especially after reading all of the reviews.

Telephoned to see if they would take a guinea pig given as a gift to my 6 year old granddaughter.The lady, unfortunately I do not know her name, was so mean on the phone. Interrogating me as to why this girl can't care for the animal. Frankly, I would not leave any animal with this .....!Totally inappropriate, berating me as if I was an animal abuser when I only want to do the humane thing for this little guy.The store it was purchased has 14 day return policy and it has been 16 days. We didn't want money back either.What is an animal lover to do when they cannottake care of an animal? Shame on you lady!

If this place had lower stars, I would give it I called asking how much a dog was I called them they said hi and I replied with hi back and they ask what can I do for you and I said how much is it to adopt one of your dogs and she started laughing and said that I should never just call a dog shelter or pound and just say that and she didn’t give me no explanation or anything and she said you understand that and I was in shock of how rude she was and I didn’t answer her right away and she told me OK I can see that you’re a brat. I don’t understand how anybody can treat their customers like that.

I understand how shelters are having a difficult time, but this lady was beyond rude. Over the phone she would constantly say things to try to make you feel guilty or just extremely rude comments consistently cutting you off mid sentence or talking over you (I am helping out a family member who moved for safety to find a home for their cat). I wrote it off as she was having a bad day (not a good excuse but it happens), but then I read the comments, they captured her personality that I had dealt with. I do not recommend this shelter and truly wish she gets a chance at becoming a better person, or at least being able to show it with improved communication skills.

Been to Small World Cats Rescue several times to drop off donations for the cats. Having three cats of my own I am a cat lover. Veronica has many cats to choose from for you to adopt. She is a warm hearted no nonsense person and loves all of the cats at the shelter. The place is clean and I always call before going over because she has a lot going on and there are always people coming and going to see the cats up for adoption. Highly recommend.

Against my better judgment, even after reading the reviews, i stopped in to see the cats just to see what it was like. I had already put in an application to adopt at another shelter. This woman is definitely pushy and off putting. She really doesn't know much about cat health at all, which was surprising, because she had very specific opinions of brands. She stated that she wouldn't allow me to adopt because i don't use tidy cats litter, of all things, the worst quality cheapest stuff you can buy. In her favor, she seems to care about the cats, but it would be much healthier for them to have homes. Sad, strange woman.

I called to ask about an adoption and she asked me where I lived, so I told her I live in my friend house whom yes I pay rent to. She then proceeded to interrupt me saying she can’t do rental drop offs or something like that. She wouldn’t let me finish talking before getting nasty and hanging up the phone, what great customer service from this place. Never referring anyone to someone with that attitude.

Tried to inquire about adopting a cat and the woman on the phone was very rude and was asking questions which I understand but laughed very loudly when I told her what kind of food I feed my cat now and kept going on about how she only gives them this fancy food and you have to buy this food before you're allowed to have one of the cats so I was told no for adopting a cat because I feed my cat store brand food. Doesn't sound like she is willing to let any of the cats go, she said she is "picky"

Awesome shelter, the best I’ve ever seen for cats. Veronica is a sweet, funny woman with a big personality who has memorized the name and backstory for every kitty there. She’s very caring and adores every single cat under that roof. She has sensible rules to ensure that each cat goes to a good home and is well taken care of. She was the only shelter willing to take care of my cat Honey while we look for a bigger house for our family of 5. The boarding fee for us was $60 for 2 months, which is WAYYY cheaper than any other pet boarding business in or near our area. We’re encouraged to visit whenever we want so long as they’re open. I’d highly recommend bringing your business here, they really love the animals here❤️

I found a 3 week old kitten in the road. NO other rescue even offered to help or point me in a direction of help although I called many. Veronica was so kind, compassionate and took this sweet kitty in. It is no easy task to bottle feed a kitten around the clock but she gladly did it. I promised to help with vaccine and neuter costs. There should be more people in rescue with a heart like Veronica! If you are able, please donate to this shelter. Every little bit helps!

Found an abandoned dog on the weekend when all the shelters are closed. Veronica was extremely caring and helpful and pointed me in the direction of those who would be able to assist. I must have called her 5 different times and not once was she annoyed and she truly cared. Thank you Veronica!

I called this place to see about surrendering my mom's cats due to her passing away at the 7th of July but because they where not spayed she told me my mom should burn in hell for this .if this is that kind of place then they need to be shut down and she should be fired for this .you do not say that kind of stuff to someone how just lost there mom

The animals are NOT in cages here! They get to go anywhere they want!! The woman who runs it does an amazing job!! She has a huge heart and cares for the animals wonderfully! There is a little smell but what do you expect with 40 cats! They are well feed cleaned and most of all happy!*** I highly recommend this place if your going to adopt!!

I went here awhile back and was denied. She brags about the food she gives the cats. Sure, the cats can eat good, but 20 cats using 1 litter box(sandbox) is just asking for diseases to spread and ultimately die. Look into angels for animals. At least they take care of the cats. If she spent the money she spends on giving cats expensive food, the shelter wouldn't look like a run-down homeless shelter.

Woman was very rude called because my buddy left his dog with me after moving out of state and I can't keep him she then demanded his social security number and told me to shut up and listen to her after I told her that's extremely disrespectful she is a very nasty witch hope the sheriff's office actually does something about her

worst experience ever. went yesterday to adopt a cat for my sons birthday . spent about an hour trying to find the right cat . found the cat my son fell in love with , she said she felt rushed and decided she wanted to wait until today that way we could get the right cat food and such. it was not proffered because my son didnt want to wait but we did . we went to pick up the cat and she decided that my fiance bought a litter box that was too small and decided not to give us the cat. are you joking ? never heard of this in my life. we will take our business else where

Rude lady on the phone. Horrible horrible horrible attitude. Says you can’t get cat if you feed it certain brands of food or if you rent your house/apartment. Asks unrelated personal questions. Plenty of other cat shelters. Recommend West Side Cats over this place any day.

Sorry not sorry to say this but the lady who works there is absolutely rude and misleading.i went there on Sunday and i got to know the cats to choose which one to adopt then i had my eyes on twins,she agreed to me to adopt them after that i worked to prepare from paperwork to everything, the next days she never answered her phone, and when i went there on Tuesday she rudely told me to go back because she has nothing for me, the next day again she never answered her phone and when i went there on the door steps she told me she will not let me adopt the twins just because i have an apartment. FYI my is 860 sq ft. Don't recommend this place its not worth ur time. Please trust me

I have just called this shelter and received the absolute worst customer service in the world. I am shell shocked by the way this lady spoke to me. Proceeded to say I sound like a 12 year old 2 minutes into the conversation about their animals. Absolutely disgusting remarks. Loathsome shelter. I honestly feel bad for the animals being taken care of in this facility.

Extremely rude . I was yelled at and hung up w out being able to say the entire situation. So the two male cats are just now one ... Indoor and never once outside ...and no not fixed. Now that the abusive man who refused to fix them is gone I was looking for help on what to do . So thanks for being part of the problem and not the solution for these poor animals. You shouldn't even have an animal shelter let alone an animal bc your just as much of an abusive jerk as the dude who wouldn't fix these cards.
