This hardware store reminded me of the older hardware stores of my youth with wooden floors and the smell of a hardware store and I found it quite pleasing. I have to honestly say that a review from me is not fair due to my being so heavily disabled and not able to stand for any amount of time. But one thing that is true is that when someone is looking for a specific type of bolt then that person should be left alone to get that bolt he needs. I have wasted over two months on searching for bolts I needed by an employee wanting to help and getting me the wrong bolts each and every time. The only time I was able to get the right bolts was when I ordered them online from Amazon. The problem with many stores closing is not particularly online shopping but the employees not allowing the shopper to look on their own to get what they need. What should be done is leave the shopper alone and don't interfere and wast their time and money. I wasted over $50 in buying bolts that did not work from these employees helping me during the two months.

The best hardware place around. First and foremost I have to say that the employees that work here are fanominal at the job. When you walk in, their is always an employee there to assist with finding products or explaining g to customers how to properly repair common house hold repairs. The staff here know there stuff and if not they will find someone who does. They are very helpful and friendly. This is the type of business that needs our support. Website offer a search in store feature. If I’m need go here first.

This is a gem of a store... it seems they have a lot of stock in a very small place. Well laid out and the staff is very friendly. They carry odd items that you would think they would. Looking for hardware? Give them a chance! Small local owned business that in these times need to more than the big box stores!

We are from a small town in West Virginia and don't have an amazing store like this. All we have are the major chains which you can Never find what you need because there is no friendly help. Family owned and family run makes you feel like family, and they treated us like family the minute we walked in the door!!! Even there beautiful guard dog loves everyone that walks in the door. Every time I come in to visit I will be shopping at Applegate's!!!!

Is absolutely a hardware that has just about everything you need and if they dont they will step out of there way to see that you will get it . Their employees are so polite and there to help you with anything before you are 5 feet in the store. Got to love good help

Always liked this store, but they charged me 25 dollars apiece for 8 treated 4x4x8 posts.They might have made an extra hundred dollars on the sale, but they lost a pretty regular customer for good.

Great little hardware store. Wide selection electric, gate hardware, pool chemicals. No need to drive to home depot. Friendly staff are helpful. If you need something odd just call and ask.
