Finally stopped by Hasselbach's Meats after years of talking about it... It was totally worth the short car ride!I'd like to thank Jay Roberts for lending me his expertise and helping me feel comfortable with this being my first time in such a fabulous butcher shop! It went from overwhelming to educational and comfortable.We hand picked these steaks together.. my family asked that I only go there for our meat from now on.Tender, juicy and fresh!Better than anything we've had in a restaurant in years!Last night ,I grilled the extra thick chops that I had marinated in Italian dressing on the grill.. another big winner! Super easy on a work night.Hasselbach's will definitely be on my grocery list as long as I live in this area.So glad to be back in the area! Thanks Hasselbach's for being such an amazing place.

bought the chicken breast box and some of the chicken had dark brown spots on the breast and some where solid white. took it back and got it replaced and this box was as shredded as the rest. funny when I talked to one of the workers they said it "Looked fine other than being a little shredded." Check the photo and see if the chicken is "a little shredded." they wouldn't put this garbage chicken in their display cases so why are they ok with putting destroyed chicken like this in boxes? Place has really gone downhill.

I have had good experiences their in the past. Back in January I took some deer meat in for some jalapeno and chees sticks, well, that did not turn out so well. They had jalapeno and chees inside but you could taste teriyaki in them also, and man what an awful combination, they were way to salty and the texture was like they were under cooked. Every person (15-20) I gave some to came to the same conclusion I did, I could not give them away. I took them back one evening and I was told I would get a phone call from the person in charge the next day, well, that did not happen and I had to call them myself. I explained, never raising my voice, my concerns with the product and the answer was ''it sounds like you just are not happy with the flavor and I have them right in front of me and they taste just like they should". So I took the 35 minute drive and picked my sticks up handed out a few more to my coworkers, they ate half a stick and threw it away, and finally decided to throw all of them in the trash (10lbs wasted). All the staff were polite and wanted to make it right with me but they themselves could not do anything for me, I understand that. The man in charge did not even try to make it right. The two stars are for the product the staff would get 5 stars.

The best place to get meat. Kind helpful people. Highly recommend this place. Went the 5th and got some ground chuck. Put it I'm my fridge over night. Went to cook it and it was hard on the piece sticking out and brown all the way thru. Looked nasty. Had to throw it away cause I have no ride back til the 5th of next month. Cost me 4 meals and I live on a fix income. Not to sure I want to buy their ground chuck again. I love the sausage.

Same great place like it used to be! Moved away from the area and haven't been there for years!! The regular sausage was delicious for breakfast!

They have the best, freshest meat around. The workers are always in a great mood, especially Jay! You can get your product sliced the way you want it not to mention the sides, snacks, desserts, and even beverages. Try the home made salsa and many other local delights!

Wow, was this place impressive. I have never seen a place with so many selections of meats. I had no idea there where that many cuts. My Mom comes here to buy lard, guess it's one of few places that still sell it anymore. The prices were fair. They also had beer, wine, deserts, salads, and other stuff for purchase.

No, they are not cheap. However, for the quality you get I think that they are a bargain. Everything I have ever purchased has been top shelf quality, and in reality only a little more money than meat products produced by commercial slaughterhouses. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

9-12 -21revised to 5 star. Despite my displeasure with the packaging I came back everything else was so good. Much to my surprise everything was vacuum sealed.This was a nice rural meat market. Everything behind the counter looked really high quality and the people I dealt with were friendly.Why the 3 starts? Based only on packaging. I bought half a hog and it was processed here. When I picked up the hog the meat was wrapped in a plastic wrap type material. There is no way this packaging is going to hold up on the freezer and prevent any sort of freezer burn. I have had half a cow at 2 other butchers in the general area and both of them had packaging that was so much better than the plastic wrap the hog came in. I guess I was expecting better.

Fantastic choices. Up in the area on vacation wanted some steaks and found here online. Was worth the drive, we left with much more meats than what we planned because of the selection.

Stopped in at 1030 waited for a lady to help someone with a few lbs of cut meat for 18 minutes until she skipped over us for a gentlemen that came in after.Just walked out.

They went above and beyond for us. I ordered 25lb of breakfast sausage for an event. I did NOT specify links. I was panicked!! No the good folks took care of it. Put it into casings for me! Thank you!! Not to mention it's the best sausage ever!@

We had a half steer processed here and split it with a coworker. The steaks looked great, but we received very little, we didn't get any filet mignon. The hamburger is terrible, must be a 60/40 blend. You cannot grill with this hamburger unless you want a fireball, there is so much fat it catches fire within 15 seconds of hitting the bbq grill. Got a freezer full that I can't even use.Update: The coworker raises the Black Angus and it was under his name. He also agrees and saidthis is worst hamburger he's ever gotten from you. The butcher processes the beef and way too much fat was added when grinding, the mix is practically white. The Angus is grass fed so don't try and blame it on the farmer. If you had someone new grinding the beef, I would understand, but it should have been fixed before it left your store. If I could post a picture, everyone could see.

7 weeks to get order, order not what I stated packed rib steaks 1lb had up to 9oz of fat on each. Gross. Took meat back along with 16 lb rib steak. 3 weeks later I received only 3 1/2 lbs rib steaks and 10 ground beef. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. A RIP OFF..

Awesome chorizo, bacon is great too. Love the jumping jack cheese and though I don't like pasta salad my friend said it was great. Worth the 85 mile round trip to get the goods!

Nice people, great prices, best cuts! I was raised on real farm fresh and this took me back to better days! Definitely fresh and not dyed low grade supermarket quality. Give it a try. You won't regret it!

Great prices, great selection My only complaint is too many people without masks waiting a long time in a confined space to order. It would be great if you could order in advance, ideally pay in advance and just pick up your order. I waited 15 or so minutes while they filled an order at the counter - I was just buying an outstanding by the way strawberry pie.

We had 2 women waiting on us, so everything went smooth n quick. Thanks!We got brisket, shoulder, steaks n some other misc meats. Great prices, cheaper or the same as chain stores,, n being its fresher than chain stores that is a bonus.

I have used their service for processing animals a few times. I have been pleased with the way they cut up the meat. Only thing I would do different is the way they wrap the meats, most places use plastic as the first layer then use paper for the outer wrapping. Only change I would like to see done. Otherwise very pleased with their service..

They have great quality meats at competitive prices. What I would normally pay for cheaper lower quality meats elsewhere like say 70% lean, is what I pay for 80% lean here.Great savings when buying in bulk.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Their smoked meats are the BEST. We travel from Mansfield, Ohio to buy our hams, sausage, pork chops, etc. there. It is ALWAYS so clean there and the staff are pleasant and courteous, even on a busy day. Their plain bacon is an excellent addition to my baked bean & green beans - adds LOADS of flavor. I really don't like to cook without it.

First time visitor. Easily accessible for my wheelchair bound mom. People were very friendly and helpful. And the clerk even carried my purchases out making it easier to get my mom to the car. Definitely will be back! Thank you!

We are staycationing in Ohio,,I drove up to Hasselback meatsBecause 3 different people recommended them.I was successfully able to stuff my Caveman, "best ribs he ever ate"....He is a fussy dude.Heading back, to load up before going home to NJ for (Oklahoma Joe's BBQ Debut) for Local Summer to begin,...I mean Labor Day weekend at the Jersey shore, we plan to fill the air with some smoked ribs smells...Highly recommend!!!

Have shopped here since a small child with parents. Am now 63 & have been driving in from east side of Cleveland for 30+ years. Best bacon on the planet. Quality meats, fair prices, super service. Special requests no problem. Well worth the semi-annual visits every year!

Usually a better experience than today. There were no fresh cut pork ribs in the meat case so I asked the young lady waiting on me if they had any in the back. She gave me an already packaged slab. When I arrived home I realized the ribs were not even from Hasselbach Meats. So beware of what you are purchasing, it may not be fresh cut Hasselbach Meat. I hope they taste good as making for Father's Day.
