I've been getting everything for my pets there including the pets themselves, and I absolutely love the ppl who work there, they are friendly an helpful, not to mention they're super awesome when I comes to meeting pets too, the dog I babysat a while back was so happy when we left, she got a free treat and some water for the road. Even my family's pets and stuff love that place.

I decided to get some fish for my apartment and after some searching around, I figured this would be a good place to check out. The staff are friendly and the store is clean. I purchased a red clawed crab, two glass fish, and a mystery snail (pictured). The tanks and decorations here are pricey, so I walked over to Walmart and got a 10-gallon tank for almost half of the price and some cute decorations. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I will probably return to buy one or two more fish.

Nice store. Not a super huge chain, but good selection. The girls there are always friend and good with my big pup. I really like using their pet washing accommodations. Everything I need to get my fur buddy clean is right there and it’s so much better than having a mess at home.

This is probably the best pet store I've ever visited. I didn't see any dead or sick fish in any of the tanks (other than the quarantine tank), and they had a huge selection of fish. The price point is a bit higher than other pet stores but it is definitely worth it for the quality of animals and the knowledgeable employees who work there. Everyone there seemed happy to help and were able to give advice on anything I asked.

This store was my first "Jack's Pets" - I have been driving up from Lima to buy fish here since 2006. The staff always knows what fish are in stock when I call - so I don't make wasted trips. While much of the staff has changed over the years -- they still have the same manager - who is always so much fun (look for Jim). I don't expect every staff member to know everything about all fish.... but the ones who care for the fish are very knowledgeable (be sure to ask for Dawn). This store always maintains ideal water conditions for the fish - so I buy with confidence (store water pH always tests at 7.5 - which is the same as my aquarium water. Easy acclimation). Thanks Findlay PetValu for continuing that famous Jack's Pets customer service.

The conditions that the animals are kept in are awful!1) bearded dragons (arid desert dwellers) had a sticker on the that said "spray twice a day"2) ball pythons labeled "morph" being sold for $250. They don't even know what type of morph the snakes are to know if they should truly cost that much.3) Kenyan sand boa in the smallest size Critter Keeper with just sand and a bottle cap of water. Sand wasn't even deep enough for him to dig and burrow.4) bearded dragons escaping into the hermit crab tank and when I told an employee, they said "yeah well when they lose a toe or limb, they'll learn their lesson"5) 6 decent sized rabbits housed in the same half of a circular pen. Not enough room for that many animalsAlso, the staff is not at all knowledgeable about animal care and are very unwilling to help. One of the staff members lets her elementary age daughter and her friends have the keys to the animal cages so they can play with the animals so then when you want to see an animal you can't because her daughter has the keys and she doesn't know where her daughter is. Very unprofessional. Oh, and the prices are outrageous. There are plenty other pet stores near by, save your time and money. One

This place is awesome!. They recommended excellent dog food for my dog. To help her with dog food problems, and she started growing back her hair. Found out regular grocery store pet food and name brand foods. Are bad due to their cross-contamination with their dog food. That's why my dog kept losing her hair. And we tried every kind of dog food. I never knew how they actually make dog food. Dog production would think they make it more healthier and safer. Just like with human food production. Pet Valu help me a lot. My dog is very happy with her new food. Will never go any where else. And there rewards program is awesome too.

I went to this store to look for a new hamster because my last one died after 3 year of owning him. When i went to the back part of the store were they have there animals i was looking at the hamsters when i noticed a box with thin and few slits on the top that was unsteadily sitting on top of multiple other boxes of different sizes and even a round black tub. I was there for about 10 minutes and i kept hearing the box shake and even the sound of little animals squealing. Now when my hamster had gotten wet tail he squealed when ever he was first picked up as a sign of discomfort,. So i told the lady that was working there and she said she would handle it. About ten minutes later the women still had done nothing and me and my family were about to leave when the box fell over. I rushed over only to see a dead hamster's head that has been stuck hanging out of the box and it appeared that it pore animal had been strangled/chocked. So i lifted the lid to see if there was any life left in the animal and there in the small box were at least 20 baby hamsters trying to flood out. I quickly closed it back up as to prevent the animals from escaping and roaming the store. I told the women working that they the box had fallen and she asked if any got out and i said no but there was a dead one and she simple kinda giggled as to i don't know why and once again said "ill handle it ma'am". I left feeling very scared for the hamsters because first of all they had no food or water. Secondly, certainly not enough slits for all of them to get a health amount of oxygen. Thirdly, it was a very small place for so meany hamsters And lastly, god knows how long they were in there if i was at that store for a half hour and they were never once touched or moved by a worker!

I use to love going here and getting all my reptile needs. Now one of the employee always makes rude comments towards me and about me. She is always wearing yoga pants when I know that’s not professional, her name is Mercedes. She is always very rude and is not friendly. I know someone who works at petvalu and tells me everything she says after I leave. The mice are always sick and have been for the past few months. I went in recently to pick up some ghost shrimp but they almost all had parasites. I have never had such an unpleasant experience at a pet store and I will never shop here again.

Pricey compared to other but great brands and I love the dog bath. They supply towels shampoo conditioner all you need to bring is your dog. They even have blow dryers safe for the dogs skin

I buy crickets about once or twice a month, depending on how much my bearded dragom eats. The staff is always super helpful. I love how friendly they are and I will continue to go back.

Horrible. The conditions and tiny spaces they keep their animals and reptiles in is just appalling. There were mice eating each other when I went in(I understand they do this, but the dead mice should be taken out before customers see them-or as soon as they are brought to a workers attention), dead fish and sick looking lizards and snakes. A ferret in a tiny little cage that it couldn't even run around in. I only went hear for a feeder mouse to hold my snake over until I could find somewhere else to get one, but I won't go back. This place shouldn't have any of these animals.

Decent place! Has taste of the wild pet food, which can be hard to find. I just wish they took better care of their fish. They have lots of animals to look at and lots of food options. Great, clean store, otherwise

If you go in, I'd reccomend talking to Dawn. She is very knowledgeable about the animals. If she doesn't know something she will look it up on the spot. The customer service reps try to get you reputable info and will show you what the pet needs not try to sell you what they can. If they do not carry an item they will go out of their way to try to find it. Not very many petstores do that.I wouldn't reccomend trying to ask the Store Manager about the animals. He will tell you anything to get an animal sold. He does not care for the animals well being. And he will try to get you to buy unneeded items or items that may not be good for the animal, to get the most money out of you. I've seen dead animals in the enclosures and when I said something, he srugged it off like no big deal. He Can be very rude. And he is not knowledgeable about the animals or their needs. Or maybe he doesnt care. I'm glad he does not care for the animals and has someone else caring for them. Alot of animals there were surrendered to them and are not always in good health.

I'm in there two or three times a month and the people there are great to work with the store is very nice and kept clean and I couldn't imagine getting better service anyplace else in Findlay, and I've tried the other pet stores here and they just treat you like a number, but not here. I would recommend this place to all my friends, thx pet value

They have a good selection but the prices are a bit steep. The feeder crickets are large but they hold them hostage up to the register. I find this practice strange and a bit insulting honestly.

I got my rabbit here and I was always a fan of Jacks so I figured it would be nice here. There are many loyal workers with rabbits too. The employee I talked too is going to school to be a veterinarian and very wise about rabbits.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! We just went for a cat carrier, but wanted to look at the pets of course. The employee brought the carrier up to the counter for us while we looked so we didn't have to carry it around.

Have a few good staff that know somewhat about fish, the rest are hit and miss. Overall a good attitude and often had some rarer fish for chain stores.
