Stop by this spot on trips into Jungle Jim's to visit the beautiful animals and contemplate owning a hamster, ferret or even a frog. Spot is clean with plenty of helpful staff. Sniffed by hamsters and held a ferret today that was happy to snuggle into my hoodie. This store also sells hermit crabs, ball python snakes and even had a tarantula today.

After a not so great experience with the Petland in Mason we really appreciated the patience and gentleness Jeff had for us and the new 🐦 addition to our family. We really appreciated how he took the time to put a dowel in the box for the bird to perch on for the ride home. It's the little things that count when it comes down to small animals.

Pretty disappointed by our recent encounter with them. We inquired about purchasing a returned mastiff puppy and were told we couldn’t purchase her because she has to returned to a breeder since she was bow-legged. We offered to sign paperwork to take her AS IS and we were told it was “illegal” for them to do so. I reach back out and they told me the puppy has been sold to someone else THE SAME DAY we were there & got refused. I’m glad the puppy got a good home but I’m disappointed in the communication and I felt like I was lied to so they could sell the dog to one of them employees friends because when I called back Angel told me the puppy had went to one of her personal friends. Defiantly wouldn’t recommend coming here and I would reach out to an actual breeder that would be straight forward with you.

Uninterested employees sat and watched as children were torturing the small hamsters. Wouldn't trust the quality of health of small animals purchased from location after seeing. For the love of God change enclosures for these animals if they aren't going to be monitored appropriately.

The prices of these dogs 😩😩😩😩😩! I expected the dog prices would run fairly high compared to adopting or purchasing from breeders, but did not expect a small fortune. On top of that all dogs are spayed/neutered so no chances of reproduction if someone so chooses to. I understand the list of additives that come with the price - spayed/neutered, first 3 round of shots, cage and toys......but the price difference of a dog that usually costs no more than 1500ish sky rocketing to 5000 is a bit unreasonable. I had priced 2 dogs as you will see, a maltipoo and pekapoo. I also asked where the pricing started as I was in disbelief at price tags, and was told typically around 3000 and the dogs go on sale if they're unsold after about 2 months. All dogs arrive around 8 weeks old. As bad as I wanted to take the peekapoo home, I couldn't stomach the outrageous price, I would have rather went without the additions and taken her to get all vetinary needs done myself, and I didn't need the cage. So, I 'll have to look elsewhere. The 3 starts I did give, was because the staff is super friendly, informative and its clear the dogs are very well cared for. Also I went back to Petland, because I had bought a dog 13 years ago from them that recently passed away (but the price tag was only $600) it was a miniature and she lived a pretty healthy life, and the vet was always impressed with her health as she aged. I made me more sad to have to walk away from a dog the was tugging at my hear 😔.

Top Notch Customer Service and the Staff is so friendly. All of them were very helpful and very knowledgeable about all of the pets and even there products. The price of the puppies are fairly high. BUT...... what all comes with the purchase of a puppy, a cage (is the size of the puppy fill grown), pretty much a lifetime warranty, check-ups, food, etc., you actually pay less over the lifetime than if you bought the dog elsewhere. We looked at this Pure Bred Husky. I wanted to purchase that day but the wife was not with us. My girls fell in love. I fell in love. Just to give you an idea of how much it would cost to purchase a dog from Petland, the Husky shown in my Pictures below (8-9 weeks old), cost $5600. I was thrown back by the price, but when they explained everything that came with the dog, I was a little more comfortable paying that price. It is a life long investment to purchase from Petland. They are able to finance, make payments, etc. When we are ready to purchase a puppy, my family will be going to Petland.

Bought a beautiful Cockatiel from here. Dobby was an amazing and loving bird. Unfortunately he passed away after only two months. The Vet said that it was an underlying issue that led to weight loss and eventually death. The hired help are nice and caring for the animals. Prices are outrageous for any animals.I would NOT recommend buying any animals here. Especially exotics.

Went there the other day and little boys were picking up the hamsters and dropping them back in cages, along with snatching about 7 hamsters at a time and literally TOSSING them, getting breeds mixed up in different cages which caused a hamster to be attacked. The employees were right there yet did absolutely nothing the whole 30 minutes I was there. Also, hamster cages are poor there. Seen about 4 hamsters trying to jump on the wheel at once at one point. Also, about 5 hamsters in each enclosure were stress pacing against the walls. Quite sad that this place allows all this :(

We go to play with the puppies! At this Petland you are allowed to have playtime with the puppies to help entertain and socialize them, if the store is slow. I suggest going mid-day during the week. Store is clean, employees are kind. We always pick up some dog food & treats for our senior dogs at home when we come.

WORST PLACE TO GET A PUPPY!!!!I got a Germán shepherd for 5000, they told us the dog was healthy but he wasn't, they send us to the vet MT pleasant ANIMAL HOSPITAL, to check the dog where they also told us the dog was completely fine, nothing wrong with him, but the poor dog was always throwing and sad, I took him to the same vet every week because he never get better, and they always told me he will get better, until I took him to different vet where they said the dog has something wrong with his legs and had ammonia and different healthy problems, the dog die at the vet and when we went back to petland they said they cannot give us the one year guaranteed because the dog has ammonia. I definitely don't recommend to buy animals from this place and the pleasant vet where they are connected, I still have all my recipes and pictures from all this places, after that we got another one from Craigslist for only 1000 original breed certificate from AKC. here is a photo of the forst puppy that was sick from petland (I feel sorry for this lil puppy, I did everything I could to keep him alive, I ended up spending around 7,000 with him,)

Went to go shop around and held a ferret and one of the employees yelled at me for stepping too far away from the holding cell for it. Which I understand I need to stay near it but I didn’t deserve to get yelled at and she gave me dirty looks and rolled her eyes at me. Horrible customer service. Will not return. I was going to get a ferret but after how they treated me I wouldn’t even buy a toy here.

I went here to get a bunny the other day. When I entered, the staff greeted me and was very friendly. I had not only found the perfect little guy, but I was also assisted in attaining the perfect home for him, most nutritious food, comfortable bedding, and toys to ensure he is happy. They walked me through every step (even though I researched prior - did not walk in blind) and ensured the best care for my new friend.

Purchased a puppy which is healthy and loveable. The staff really cares about their pets and was very reliable and knowledgable when it came to answering my eray of questions. For my family it was our first dog, and it's nice because they provide the essentials such as a crate, food, toys, sprays, and so on to get you started. The manager came out and went over tips and tricks and gave us some good pointers. If I could handle another pet I wouldn't hesitate purchasing another dog here. My experience was great!

All though we got my beautiful puppy now dog here it was a terrible experience. I just want everyone to know that Petland sells knowingly sick puppies. Our little girl had Giardia and Kennel Cough straight from the store. They say don't worry if they're sick we reimburse and we reimburse the first vet visit at their choosing facility well they don't. It's like pulling teeth to get any of it reimbursed and besides putting our new little girl at risk the Giardia also put everyone we came in contact with at risk as well as my other pets. We had to clean the entire house I had to take off work and our poor puppy had diarrhea for the first month of her time home and a cough for longer where she had issues breathing in her sleep. Luckily she's just fine now but I am not happy. They lie to try to conceal it. They said she might have diarrhea because she'll be nervous in her new home purposefully to conceal her sickness. They did not reimburse for her treatment and surely not for the heart ache and treatment of my other pets and household. We only went through Petland because we happened to be in the area and stopped in for some puppy serotonin and she was beautiful. I will be avoiding this company at all costs in the future. As if it wasn't obvious enough with the price tag that they just want money.

Went in look for a snail to add to my daughters goldfish tank to assist with the the algae. Employee told us that these little catfish would be better and 3 would be fine for a 5 gallon tank so we went ahead and bought 3. We have had our goldfish for approx 2 years, no issues. Use filtered water and treat it. These little fish did not make it even 2 weeks. I called to store to inquire about a refund. They said it was 7 days. I told them situation and they said that I should not have had these fish to begin with as goldfish urine was toxic to them and they would not survive. The lady on the phone talked to manager as it was over the 7 day refund policy and manager refused to issue refund, even though this was the stores fault for selling me these fish. The did say they would test my water. Gee thanks. They do not care about the pets they have or their customers. Will not return.

Feels like a puppy mill. Go to a rescue for pets.Update to review. I was appalled. Staff was not doing anything about kids picking birds up and throwing them around. Kids picking up hamsters and throwing them in other enclosures. The staff walked passed multiple times and did nothing. I asked very nicely for the child to stop in front of the parent, explaining in pretty sure you just broke the bird's wing....that did nothing.Horribly sad the way they were treating animals and staff didn't care. I'll never go back.

PUT SOME KIND OF SCREEN ON TOP OR NEW ENCLOSURES SO KIDS STOP TRYING TO KILL THE ANIMALS. This is the second time we have seen parents leave their kids unattended so they can pick the hamsters up and spin them in the wheel as fast as they can or hold them very tight. We watched a kid TODAY pick up a hamster and drop him and my husband and I ran over to get the hamster off the ground. It couldn’t walk and obviously had neurological damage. The employee was upset as well and took the hamster to the back. AGAIN, PUT SOME KIND OF SCREEN ON TOP OR NEW ENCLOSURES SO KIDS STOP TRYING TO KILL THE ANIMALS.

I have to be honest, I could never support a pet store like this! It's such a catch 22 because it is not these poor animals fault and they do need homes too. But the price they charge is just ridiculous and to see families filling out credit applications is insane to me! You shouldn't go in debt for a animal! Especially when their are so many that need homes in shelters. Again...I know they need homes too, but its not something that I would ever do. However, we do enjoy going in and loving on some puppies and smelling puppy breath!

This Petland doesn’t seem to have as much variety as others and of course is pricey. Adorable puppies if you want to spend 5k on a mixed breed lol….but they are cute

The place was clean, and so were the animals. The staff was friendly and didn't try to pressure us into bringing anything home. Our kids (4 and 2) had a blast looking at bunnies, puppies, and the fish. It was a good experience.
