I cannot thank everyone at Euclid Animal Shelter for helping us adopt our newest family members. We heard they had been very full lately and we were considering kittens because I had never raised an animal from an early stage. My only pet was a grown cat who adopted us. We fell in love with our kittens on our first visit, but they were not old enough to go home with us. Euclid Animal Shelter was so great, they let us visit them every weekend until we could take them home. They allowed us to put a deposit down to save them for us. One of babies was staying with a foster parent, so they even coordinated with her to come and visit with us when we were there. It was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. It was also the most affordable pet adoption I’ve ever heard of it, and it included their future neutering procedure. When I was leaving, they even gave me a little treat bag with a blanket, toys, and some food for our new family members. We could not be more thrilled with everyone and everything. I will recommend them forever.

I adopted a dog from this animal shelter a year ago exactly. This was my first time adopting a dog, and it has been the WORST experience due to Euclid Animal Shelter’s neglect and oversight (not the dog’s fault at all, she is much better under my care). Prior to adopting, they told me that the dog suffered an attack while roaming the streets and needed an ear correction surgery. The surgery was performed under their care, but I was informed that she was fully healed and that there wouldn’t be any unreasonable issues. THAT WAS A LIE. The day I took her home, I noticed immediately that she had something wrong with her ears as she couldn’t stop digging in them. Not a big deal, I had a dog that was prone to ear infections before, so I knew exactly what to do. I took the dog to the vet that week to get checked out, but did not realize she needed sedation to go to the vet (Euclid did not disclose this). The vet refused to see her. I then had to wait to book with a vet that could accommodate her aggression. When we finally looked at her ears, not only did she have an infection, but her ear canals were SO small that you could barely fit a Q-Tip inside of them. How can you possibly clean the infection out when you don’t have access to the ears? How did Euclid miss this? They obviously did not take her for a check up post-surgery. I reached out to Euclid Animal Shelter for assistance and they mentioned that they would be willing to revisit her ears if I returned to the vet that performed her first surgery. I am not a fan of this clinic, but opted to go anyway due to the previous surgery. Unfortunately, the second surgery went just as well as the first…BOTCHED. I then circled back with the Euclid Animal Shelter to disclose the vet’s negligence and to inquire about seeing a more suitable clinic or specialist. Euclid has not been responsive. I am now faced with a $6,000 bill to correct the initial surgery that was performed under their care. Even without this surgery, I have spent thousands of dollars on temporary relief for my dog. What was supposed to cost me $80 has now turned into an extremely expensive nightmare. I absolutely love this dog and she is attached to me. I do not feel comfortable returning her to a place that obviously did not care for her wellbeing (which is crazy to say since she was under their care for 500+ days non-consecutively), but I am running out of options. To say the least, it is hard for me to say that this shelter is doing more good than harm. My hope is that they improve for the future as the animals deserve better. MUCH MUCH BETTER!

I think a majority of their help is volunteer, but still, their animals are well cared for.

I adopted a skinny cat from them that was skin and bones and have shedding hair problem, I had to ask them are they feeding the cats, I mistakenly made a nice review on them before I went back to inquire adopting another cat ,Not very many cats just one two at the most, I started to take 1 year old cat back the next day cuz of loudly meowing when you go to bed and be in deep sleep, The cat just wants to play, I tried keeping the cat for two more weeks in hopes that he stopped, He got along with my 3years 6months cat I adopted at 8months, But at bedtime mid morning the adopted cat seems to love to meow , I took cat back cuz I gotten very sickly and from lack of sleep, They wanted to give me another cat and promise me the cat will come that day and they would call me, I never got the call so I called and left messages and I called a couple More days and the two main ladies were never in, So I went up tthere and they had a refund ready for me to pick up,, After that I seen in add that they had a cat for adoption that I was interested in, I went up there and inquire and they were nasty to me, Saying they are not adopting to me again and that they put me on notice that I'm a bad adopted parent, I politely took offense to that, For them to retaliate against me was not call for and the accusation was not true at all, Do not be mislead when these people says you can bring cat back and get another one or refund , Not just them any adoption shelter agency Slandering someone character is illegal be careful when you make false accusations , All I did was take cat back with meat on his bones and he was happy on top of it.

If I could give 0 stars I would. All we wanted to do was look at a cat, and automatically they seemed as if they had a problem with it. I understand they are an advocate for animals but this lady was acting as if she didn't want this cat to go anywhere. We never once went in with the attitude of "We want this cat no matter what", and regarding of our situation she seemed quite rude overall. We just wanted to see the cat and see if it would be fitting for us or not.

We wanted to find an older sibling for our pup and inquired about a dog with a wonderful lady named Kyrie. She was prompt, honest and responded quickly. We were able to set up a meet and greet the very next day, and she even accommodated us being a half hour early. We knew going in that it might be a long shot, but there was more on the table than us possibly getting a new dog. This experience helped Kyrie learn more about an animal that she obviously cares greatly for, and wants to see do well in a good fit of a home. Sadly, we are not that fit, but in seeing how our dog interacted with the dog we had in mind, Kyrie now knows more, to better place that good girl.I was a bit taken aback at a couple of employees/volunteers that were very pessimistic about us meeting this dog. I had spoken honestly and extensively with Kyrie, and knew what we were walking into. You can tell she wants to give these dogs every chance at a great placement, and even though we weren’t a match, I was happy to help that process. So when those other two people were so unprofessional and negative, right I front of myself and Kyrie, it felt a little awkward and disrespectful to a fellow employee.I wish they were closer, so I could visit more often, but if another opportunity arises, I will be sure to contact Kyrie. Our short meeting showed her love and commitment to these animals, and it’s appreciated.

Terrible vibe as soon as you walk in… the older lady was really nice but I hate the stares and unnecessary questions from the cop…. Hard not to think of a race thing but I’d never go back… wasn’t even worth going to the back to see the animals ….. 👎🏽👎🏽

Went there today to check out a puppy, was absolutely blown away of how they conduct business. Alot of shelters will push dogs like they are in car sales. This place is the opposite, they want to make sure these dogs find their true forever home. Can't wait to see how my meet and great goes with my other dogs.

I don't even want to visit lol.I called. A woman answered the phone, And I proceeded to ask "How are you today?"Her Response?"Busy. What do you need?"I'm sorry, but if that wasn't the worst way to introduce yourself. I've never called this place before and all I wanted to know is if I'm able to come in and see the animals in person before scheduling a meet and greet or if everything is by appointment only now. (Covid changed a lot so I wanted to be 100% sure before popping up)Two stars because she answered my question (After giving A piss poor attitude) & ultimately I just need to go on the website.I will not allow this to impact my decision as to whether or not I will adopt an animal from them because I get it, it's not the animal's fault if the woman answering the phone isn't having a great day. But if you're looking for help over the phone, don't do it. Don't bother calling, search the website because I would much rather never work with somebody who behaves that way.

My lost dog was found and turned over to this facility. He had his tag and I was eventually contacted. When I went to retrieve him they told me the cost would be $550.00. Needless to say I refused to pay.I want you to know that these are a new group of owners and the treatment they mete out is as different as night and day. The former owner has passed away and things have changed dramatically, and in a BAD way. Please consider my awful experience before doing business with them.

I have donated supplies to this shelter and also adopted our last dog from them. They are very caring and attentive to the animals. You can tell they love the animals and work hard to socialize them so they are ready for their forever home. A+++

We adopted one of the beagle/Shepard mix puppies about four 4 months ago and was told that her spaying was paid for by the shelter as long as I use your Vets. Well I did that and I followed All your rules and I took her to your vet, well guess what it cost me over $400.00 for misc. Charges that I wasn't told about having to pay. Now in my opinion I think the shelter should reimburse me for the cost that I was required to pay. Weill if your thinking about adopting from this shelter don't believe it when they say they pay for the spay or neuter. Let me rephrase that, that is All it pays for. . No Anastasia, iV medicine that goes i it the OR The Doctor's time it's amazing what i was charged for.Good Luck

Great staff, excellent online and in-person communication. They go to great trouble to match you with the perfect pet for your family. Plus, their adoption rates are the best in the area. So happy we found them.

We lost our Chihuahua and we’ve been calling to see if anyone surrendered her. They told us “Don’t take this the wrong way, but we do have coyotes and hawks.” Really? How insensitive can you be when someone lost their beloved pet?

Had to give my babies up...Brokey cuz part of his ear was missing...they renamed him Pacaso after the painter. And my baby GSXR...renamed her Georgia. I miss them with all my heart. Wish I could see them again while I have a chance. Very clean place. Staff was excellent. They comforted us bcuz we were crying. They even let us leave their beds with them. Had to movr from California to Ohio and we couldn't have them at our new place. If we had to do it over again i would rather sleep in my truck than to give them away. Have been heartbroken for a year.

Terrible, disrespectful, insensitive, unapologetic, unprofessional and rude staff and volunteers. No clear policies and procedures in place regarding surrendered animals and they show no remorse for their actions. Allows just anyone to volunteer and represent the organization..... shame.
