We LOVE The Hot Dog Shoppe!It was worth the 7+ hour drive back to my childhood hometown to enjoy! We had dinner there the first night and drove some yummy stuff back on our last day. My Mama has Alzheimer's but I promise you she knew the HDS!The chili was different, no question. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed our cheddar chili dogs and our cheddar chili fries. Thanks for the amazing service!

UPDATE: We used to always come here. We were a bit concerned about a year ago with the quality, but we are THRILLED to visit today. What an IMPROVEMENT from our last visit!! The Hot Dog Shoppe is back! New management? New ownership? Not sure, but the manager also told us that they are also going to have live music on Sundays starting Father's Day 2024 in the afternoon. 🤩 Take a minute to give this local gem your support again. #hotdogshoppe

An East Liverpool staple! Under new ownership, the hot dog shoppe is slightly more expensive and slightly stingier, yet still what customers have come to know, expect, and love. While they don’t keep ketchup out on the tables (it’s the small things) and small changes to their malts, fries, and otherwise, the hot dog shoppe is still a must stop when in town.

Food was normal, the milkshake i got was pure liquid. Awful, way too much of the flavor liquid. Not to mention the milkshake is way overpriced. $5.25 for what is a small drink. Sheetz milkshakes aren't even that much and you get more. The cashier/ girl who made the milkshake was not great either. Bad attitude, could tell the other employees were annoyed by it. $13.96 for 2 hotdogs, a fry and a milkshake. Not great. Def avoiding this place in the future. Wish i could have a refund..

I went to eat there to re-live the memories I had of the place when I was a child and I was not disappointed the place is just how I remembered it in all of the best ways. The owner is so friendly an all about the customers experience. Thanked every single person that had stopped by the shop. Such a warm-hearted, friendly, and caring person. It shows he puts a lot of pride in his work. Keep up the good work guys!

Over 20 years coming here and the chili has been downhill for a while but still everything else was good so it was worth it. now with this new ownership everything is gross and cost more than ever for dried out bread that cracks and makes a paste in your mouth idk if its being refrozen or left out opened or what but ew the cheddar is completely different and very little taste it was the best part about the place before the fries are usually undercooked in a dirty oil one out of ten nowadays

This place had some delicious chili dogs! I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're in the area. It has plenty of seating inside, despite appearing smaller from the outside. It also has a really interesting drive-thru. They had cherry floats on the menu that looked tasty, but I was too full from the food to have any room for dessert. I would make another stop there if I was in the area, just to try one. The service was the only thing that was a little lacking, but they weren't rude, just not friendly. I'd still stop again. Oh, and we spent less than $10 per person, and we all had 2 hot dogs with our preferred toppings, a side, and a drink. That was an absolute steal!

The man who took my order was friendly and brought the food to my table. I had a baby with me, so it helped while I glt the baby situated.My issue is that all the high chairs and booster seats had broken belts to hold the child. Also, they all were super dirty.Lastly, they had no changing station in the men's restroom.

Used to frequent this place often. Food is just not the same. Hot dog bun was really stale and cheese fries just didn't taste the same. Kids chicken tenders were way overcooked and really dark on the outside. 4 year old didn't even want to try them as he said they were black ( really just dark brown, not burnt) Unfortunately I have no plans of returning.

Drive thru: Ordered the $11.96 "Special"4 hot dogs, lrg fry and a drink. We asked what drinks came with it and was told sodas, lemonade and something else; we got lemonade. Do NOT go by the pictures, they are misleading. The only thing we ordered extra was a regular chocolate "malt". Our bill was $21.20. We went to the Wharf to eat but there were no forks or napkins, had go back. I went in to get them and find what "doubled" the price of our "#2 Special" Turns out they gave me an extra large lemonade at $3.99 (I didn't ask for anything extra large, I wanted what came with the $11.96 "Special" and the "Malt" yet still ended up paying $21.20? - that's pretty steep in my book.Needless to say I'll probably not be back.

I drove an hour to unfortunately find out that it's Under New Management and not nearly as good as it used to be. I live near Warren and I've stopped going to the original hot dog shop because it is gone so downhill that I don't even consider it an option. JibJab is okay but the East Liverpool hot dog shop used to be worth the hour drive. I feel the most disappointing aspect of my visit was the fact that there was no house hot sauce available for use.

The hot dogs are as thin as my finger. The chili is now nearly flavorless. I think they've even changed the cheese sauce! The large fry comes in what was once a small fry basket. And to top it off they're even charging a 3.75% fee just for using a credit card! Needless to say I won't be back until after the place has a for sale sign!

It would be unfair to rate a hot dog more than 3 stars unless the were beef 1/4 pounders. But 3 stars is great for a hot dog. No complaints. This establishment is particularly better then the others in chain. Good price, decent weiners.

Excellent service, good hometown food. We had the chili-cheese dogs and cheese fries. Ordered the large cheese fries and it was big enough to feed two people, so be sure to just get a regular if only one is eating them. The cheese is not shredded, it is almost like a cheddar cheese sauce. The chili was almost like a sauce too...did not notice any meat in it if there was any. The crew behind the counter provided the best, most friendly service I think I have ever received from anywhere. Overall, the food was tasty and the workers were great, so I would recommend The Hot Dog Shoppe and will be returning someday.

I've been eating here since I was a kid. Now that I don't live in the area, I've made special tips to go there 2 and 3 hrs out of my way to get their hot dogs. best cheddar and chili dogs and cheddar and chili fries in the country in my opinion and the malts are the great. If you ever get the chance... eat there!
