Extremely sweet staff. We bought a deaf ferret and i had not the slightest clue what kind of toys to get her and they gave us some pointers and loved on our husky that just got out of the vet for a possible bowel blockage. Love going there!

I visited the store last weekend and was disgusted. It's been quite a while since there had been any cats in there for adoption, but the cages were still filthy and the litter boxes still had feces in them! As soon as you walk into the store you're hit with the stench. Thank God there were no cats this time. Even animals deserve dignity and to live in a clean environment.We had to pick up some nail caps (Soft claw) for our cat and when we got home to use them, the glue was all dried up. Not too happy but that isn't the store's fault. We should have went to another store that had more of a selection, we would have been able to get the brand name Soft Paw which is not the knock off. The price we pay for waiting for the last minute.Hopefully in the future, the PetValu HQ will enact a policy that ensures a clean environment because customers, animals and even the employees deserve it.

This store is awful. I looked at the reviews before coming in and they were mostly good and the photos looked nice. All the animals are being neglected and it's very dirty. I came in here looking for a guinea pig. As soon as I walked in, there were 3 cats in cages that were very dirty with litter everywhere. 3 guinea pigs are being kept in a cage not even big enough for 1 guinea pig to live, and there's a tiny cage with at least 25 feeding mice. The cages for all of the animals clearly haven't been cleaned in awhile and had dirt and poop everywhere. I expressed my concerns to a male worker here, and he told me there's a girl here who doesn't care about her job and knows she's just going to get fired so she doesn't do anything anymore. Yet he won't take care of the animals, nor any of the workers will? Hm. Avoid supporting this store, they are cruel and neglectful to the poor animals.

Fantastic wash station for pets!! We have a large husky who isn’t a fan of baths (at all!) and we were able to get a bath done here. A nice closed in bath area with step down tubs and leads at each station. $10 for bath, shampoo, towels and dryer!

The only reason this place gets two stars is because the store was clean. I stopped in today to get cat food because I was in the neighborhood-- I usually go to pet stores closer to my house. The ferrets had absolutely no food and were clambering at the walls of their enclosure begging for food and attention. The rabbits had no hideys. None of the animals had any toys. We got what we needed and headed up front to check out. The cashier was helping another customer with some fish, which is fine, but when the phone rang and she walked UP TO THE CHECKOUT COUNTER to get it she didn't even acknowledge us. We waited about five minutes before my girlfriend went to go look for the cashier, who just held up one finger at her like she couldn't even be bothered to deal with us. We waited about five more minutes before we finally just gave up, left the cat food on the counter, and left. I made a note not to stop into this store again-- at least not until their employees learn better customer service skills and the animal Care gets better.

Had a coupon to try the dog wash. Not a welcoming not friendly receptionist.i had never been there before so I had a lot of questions.the attendant was not good at explaining.she had a bird on her and did not put it up to show me know to work everything.the bird bit me twice.went to bath my dog I didn't think I was going to have to do it.so she only mentioned that the blow dryers were down before she went back to the front of the store.when finished she and another employee were in the middle of the floor with crickets and i am afraid of bugs but they didn't move.had to ask if I need to check out or if my dog could have a treat.no thank you for coming or nothing.so as I was leaving some one else was coming in the store. I let them know that the blow dryers were out. I have another coupon but will. Try another location 🤔

Staff was great, but stock was lacking and prices were higher than the petsmart 2 minutes down the road. Shelves were disorganised and dirty. Dead fish were clogging the aquarium filters, and had growths that looked to have been festering for a while.

This specific location has leopard geckos that have very thin tails. It has been going on for a while. I suggest taking them out and doing a deep cleaning of the tank and moving the geckos somewhere else. Put the new ones in a new enclosure where they won’t be exposed to diseases from the sickly ones. Then staff is very nice. There’s a girl with glasses that is very kind and willing to help. I just wish they would do something about the leopard geckos. It may not even be their fault. But the leopard geckos at other locations seem healthier.

I was surprised with the female worker having such an attitude when I brought my dog in with me. No one else was there whole time either. She wouldn't talk to me when I ask her question with dog food. She jus pointed to it & acted like I was jus annoying her & in the way. She was really rude & seem like she couldn't stand my dog too. This is 1st time I've been to that location.

After losing my heart rabbit "Timmy" I was given a rabbit from this place around the 13th-14th. Worried about how my "bunny" is acting and not feeling well called this location as this is where he was purchased from. Tony was awesome. Answered all of my questions and took the time to look some things up for me as I had as well to make me feel better and assure that my bunny should be okay. Just wanted to post on here of the excellent service I received over the phone. Glad he was the one who answered. Thank you Tony for the info you gave me about my new bunny. Btw, rabbits can be awesome pet's. Just don't get one and leave him her in the cage. I have an Australian Shepard and I tell u what, this rabbit is smarter than my dog. Love your rabbit if you decide to get one and u will see how much of a great actual "pet" they will make. Just keep their cages clean and fresh water every day!

Absolutely appalled at the way the animals are "taken care of" here. Birds were plucking out their feathers, the ferrets were in a small, lonely, and empty enclosure with NOTHING to play with whatsoever. The chinchilla was alone (they are extremely social creatures) in a small dirty cage. The rabbits were very fearful (more so than most skiddish rabbits) and absolutely covered in their own feces. Very sad. Overpriced merchandise, pushy salesperson.Not cool guys. Can't believe this store is even still open with the way it is. These animals deserve better.

Totally uneducated about the pets they're selling. I've bought 3 guinea pigs and they have been the opposite gender from what they have told me. This last time she had even talked to the manager and were still wrong about the sex. I have a 4 year old female who recently lost her companion. I went to get her another and i said i specifically needed a female. I was told that was what i was getting. Now since they sold me the wrong sex AGAIN there is a possibility my original guinea is pregnant. This could result in hundreds of dollars worth of vet bills and the possible death of my animal. Overall dissapointed at my experience.

I feel like this store is really geared towards dogs and cats. They do offer a small selection of small animal, bird and reptile products. It's hit and miss with customer service.

Unfortunately maybe it's just my bad luck or possibly bad service. Been in there a few times to buy fish and everytime I go in there is only one person working that section and they are busy teaching people how to take care of fish. First time I went in I stood there for 15 minutes while a kid with sime nice tattoos flirted with a girl and completely ignoring me and my children, I did finally go to the counter and ask for help where there were two other people standing doing nothing. They were very polite and helped me promptly. Wenter in a second time today and again in the same scenario, but the fish section was busy and full of people while other workers were standing around with one person working the section, trying to give a class on how to feed your fish to a guy and not even acknowledging we were standing there. Frustrated as I looked at my watch and 10 minutes had passed I went to the counter to get help and but couldn't find anyone,so i just rounded up my kids and left. On a positive note the store was very clean and they did greet me when I walked in also the shelves for nicely stocked. I really do you want to like this place because it's in my hometown,

I would put one star...but this is one of the only pet stores selling rats anymore. I hate how they treat their animals, for dogs don't belong in tanks and their pedigrees are false. All of the animals are treated awfully terrible.

Awesome service.. large selection of live well taken care of feeder insects.. very knowledgeable staff I recommend anybody with reptile needs or other pet needs to go here.

I went for their Halloween Spooktacular. I was looking for a sweater for the furbaby that is staying with me. I found 2 cute ones at a very reasonable price, ended up getting them both.

My issue Im having is that pet valu will sell snakes all different sizes but wont have the appropriate size of mice for snake. This is cruel to the animal ! My snake hasn't eaten for a month now and she wont eat frozen. It also seems they cant keep the good employees that actually care. This really isnt directed at Beavercreek ,but as a whole.

Store must be in new management or something but literally ALL their reptiles looked dehydrated or near death. The ball python in stock had severe stuck shed and looked a bit starved, too.

The people who work at Jacks pets in Beavercreek are so helpful! My grandsons and I really thought they we caring and knowledgable.
