If you come in the back from the alley there is accessible parking and entry. Bathrooms are clean, well stocked and accessible as well.I only tried the lemon lavender macarons but they were delicious. The cat area has a 2 door air lock system to keep cats contained. The cat area is itself accessible although there is an area of it with stairs but it's not a necessary space to occupy. It is also clean, well ventilated and offers the cats a lot of freedom to explore, engage, or not.The friend who recommended the place to me mentioned there's a more sensory friendly adult area if you're looking for a quiet place to work.

Vegan approved!! It was our first time visiting Gem City Catfé, which is a super cool place!! The cat lounge is home to over a dozen adoptable feline friends from their 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue partner, Gem City Kitties. My hubby grabbed a coffee, and I bought a Vegan Apple Turnover made by Baker Benji's. I'm really happy they offer Vegan options. I give Gem City Catfé two thumbs up!#GemCityCatfé#AdoptDontShop#VeganIsNotScary

First time in to check out the Upstairs Gallery space for my art show January and February 2024. I'd heard about it but never been in. Upstairs is a great space! It's beautifully done, quiet and even has a bathroom.Downstairs is the main Cafe and separate cat room where you can pay to go in and spend time with the cats. Ingenious concept. So it's basically a cat rescue and Cafe all-in-one.They have done an excellent job with this place. It's beautiful and very clean. They even have parking out back.I didn't try any of the food because I don't do carbs. But the coffee was really good!

Gem City Catfe is a charming cat cafe that allows customers to enjoy coffee, tea, and light snacks while interacting with adoptable cats. I recently visited Gem City Catfe and had a delightful experience. One thing I appreciated was the parking situation. The cafe has a small lot behind the building, so parking is easy and convenient. The staff at Gem City Catfe was also incredibly friendly. They greeted me warmly when I came in and were happy to answer all my questions about the adoptable cats. It was clear the staff truly cared about the cats and their wellbeing. Speaking of the cats, they were all so sweet and well cared for. The cafe was clean, and the cats had plenty of toys, beds, and other amenities to keep them comfortable and content. It was heartwarming to see how healthy and happy the cats were.Overall, I highly recommend Gem City Catfe if you're looking for a fun, laidback place to enjoy cats while supporting a good cause. The parking, friendly staff, and cared-for cats all make this spot a winner. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

I love this place! I went here for my birthday yesterday and I am so happy I did. It was very cute and relaxing on the inside and they played great music. Their coffee was amazing, I had a white peppermint mocha. If you are eating or drinking there and not to go, they put your drinks in a reusable metal mug and that is so smart and environmentally friendly of them. Inside of the cat area, it was very clean and smelled nice. They even had an area to wash your hands and a lint roller for lingering cat hair. Their cats were very friendly except for one that would rather have their personal space. They had plenty of cat toys and areas for them to lounge. They also had areas for the cats decompress if they were overwhelmed by the humans coming in throughout the day. The workers were extremely nice and anyone who says otherwise might have hit their head on the day they went there. I definitely see myself coming again!!!Dietary restrictions: I am lactose intolerant and they have soy and almond milk!

This is really great place! They have very nice coffee and hot drink options as well as a cooler with cold drinks if you prefer. The food options pair nicely: vegan cupcakes, croissants, pretzels, cookies and others. It is pricey for me but no more than other similar places.Of course the real reason we went was to see the cats! The cats are in a separate room accessible through an "airlock" type system to keep the little guys in. The room is surrounded by glass on two sides for people to watch from the cafe area if desired. There are many cat friendly perches, beds and hidey-holes. We loved the small sitting area on the floor with cushions to get a person closer to the fur babies. The atmosphere is cozy and laid back. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back! In fact I bought a membership because I knew before we got there it was our kind of place. Check out their website for more info (No link just google it).

We turned over a ferral male cat that we had caught and taken to the Vet. for a complete checkup, with vaccinations, and we had him neutered.Simba (the ferral cat) was hard to give up, as he was so sweet, but we had already taken in 2 ferral cats 2 yrs ago.The Gem City staff were truly wonderful and couldn't be better to work with, and I would give them 10 stars if possible.I also want to thank them for all their hard work to save as many of our feline friends as possible.Thank you.

I saw you were one away from 1000 reviews and I wanted to be the 1000th! Gem City Catfe has been a special place for my daughter and I to visit since it started. We used to come every Wednesday when she was in elementary school and she would read to the kitties her required reading. She eventually went to middle school and our tradition halted but it’s still top of the list as a great place for us to visit, even as she nears teen hood. They have great coffee, she loves the macarons and cake pops, and visiting the cats is the best part. Plus I love all they do for the communityKid-friendliness: My kid loves it

If you have children under five who LOVE cats, this is NOT the place for you! If you have children below the age of fifteen and they love cats but you don't, this is NOT the place for you! If you want a delicious beverage while you interact with felines, this is STILL NOT the place for you! If you are looking for somewhere you can overpay for disgusting drinks, overpay for petting cats, and have no children, this place is perfect for you! The atmosphere of this place is absolutely horrible, and I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy.

This was my first experience at a cat café. Café wise, they have a great selection of drinks and some small pastry items. They have seating that is free from cats so you can go for a normal cafe experience. As for the cat part, it was cool seeing all their different personalities come into play. There are definitely some cats that will try to steal your food.Overall, it's a fun and charming café.

The Gemcity Catfe is a phenomenally kind, warm and welcoming place. It has lovely snacks and drinks, with extra drinks that change with the Season. The cats are adorable, and friendly, although often napping.

My teen and I went to the Catfe yesterday (small business Saturday) for the first time! Yummy chai (for me) and bubble tea (for her) They have such an amazing set up. I love that they have resident cats and cats for adoption. If you love cats I'd highly recommend checking it out. 10/10 would recommend! ❤️Parking: Parking behind the building as well as street parking.

I am so glad I tried this coffee shop! Great atmosphere and drinks! The prices are very reasonable as well. I originally didn't want to try it because I thought the whole place had cats, but it is only in one closed off section that you have to pay extra to get into. The rest of the place is very clean and there is no trace of cats anywhere. Between the upstairs and downstairs, there is a good amount of seating too! This is a unique place that is definitely worth checking out!

Visited for the first time today!! Got to meet the floofs and enjoy playing with them. The Catfe is cozy and welcoming. Really enjoyed the mocha and meeting the team! When you first enter, it opens to the cafe and tables. The cats are in a separate room with tables and chairs. The litter boxes or in the basement so there's no smell or litter everywhere. It's a really nice place and I'll definitely be back. They're only allowing 10-12 people in the cat lounge at a time so the cats aren't overwhelmed. They also recommend reserving a time online so know you can get in and to inform the visitor if it'll be too busy. I also recommend going earlier in the day because the floofs were tired when I went at 7 in the evening. Have fun! It's a great time!!

If you love cats and coffee, go here! I visited around 10am on a weekday, it wasn't too crowded. Had an americano and a pastry that were both reasonably priced and delicious. The shop is super clean and modern. It's well-branded. They use sustainable containers by default (ceramic mugs, metal utensils, metal straws, etc). It's $10 to go into the cat space. You fill out a waiver on an iPad. The staff were polite and happy and explained all the rules. They let you spend just about as much time as you want in there. And it doesn't even smell like cat in there, so I'm not sure how they keep it so clean, but it is.If I'm ever in Ohio again I will be coming back!

A wonderful place to hangout, drink coffee, and play with cats!Compared to other coffee restaurants, most things on the menu are a great value. In order to be around the cats, (which are in a separate room) you have to pay a fee of $10 per person or $5 with a $25 annual membership. I personally feel that it's worth every penny.Almost all of the cats are very friendly, and don't mind being pet.You can adopt any cat that doesn't live here. The staff are happy to answer any questions you have about adoptions.TL;DR, a good place to have coffee, a better place to play with cats, the purrfect place to do both :3

I've been here many, many times for the food and drink, which is always on-point, and it's nice to get to watch the kitties while reading or working at my table downstairs. I usually get a coffee drink, but their other options like their bubble-teas are also delicious! The staff are always super quick and helpful. I have only gone into the cat room once, but the process was easy, and all the cats were playful and well-cared-for. The room was so clean that even as a person with pretty bad cat allergies, I was hardly bothered even with being in there for the full hour. Definitely stop by if you can - I recommend reserving a spot online because it can sometimes get a little crowded during certain peak hours.

This place is so cute and unique! Coffee was amazing (I suggest the Carmel and vanilla combo!) And staff was super friendly. Didn't expect the price to be in the "cat-fe" to be 10$ but I accept that it's for a good cause. 😊 It's definitely a Dayton "Gem."

Want to be surrounded by beautiful, well groomed cats whole you work on a project? Want a place to sit and enjoy an almost home-like experience with friends or family? Of all the places I have been to for coffee, I find myself enjoying the atmosphere of this one-of-a-kind coffeeshop the most. It has just the right amount of love, charm, and ambiance to make staying here enjoyable. Now let me explain why it only gets 4 Stars for a rating.First and foremost, the coffee is meh. Kind of burnt, bitter taste that really leaves you wanting more. I had a Cappuccino and a Latte and neither really stood our from each other. Both were steamed very airy and swiss cheese foam plagued both cups after only a few minutes. If the Italian style of a Cappuccino was what they wish to serve, it's accurate, but the latte did not deserve such treatment. Perhaps I am too particular about how milk is steamed, but this is only because a well steamed glass-like foam will always taste better than a dry, burnt, bitter milk foam. Overall, if you're looking for excellent espresso coupled with sweetly steamed milk, then look elsewhere. Now, this is why I will be coming back again and again. This place is like Lego Land for cats. Yes, cats are the main focus for the store, but even a dog lover like myself will enjoy the company of a diverse crowd of felines. Honestly, if I loved cats, I would gladly pay the $10 per hour charge to sit among the animals while I work. It is $10 per person, per hour, so come prepared to spend some money, sign a waiver, and leave quickly if you mean to bring friends into the animal area. I'm sure it's a perfect way to spend an afternoon if one has the time for it!The decor within the shop is quaint with a great amount of charm. From the cat themed mugs they give for your coffee to the entire upstairs lounge showcasing local artwork from local artists within the Dayton Art community. It looks and feels as though you're at home, away from home. Bathrooms are located upstairs and downstairs respectively. There is also a merchandise front near the register that sells a wide variety of gear ranging from coffee equipment to cat-loving swag. Parking is found behind the store, which is great as it doesn't congest traffic. The best place to relax with friends in Dayton, Ohio hands down. Still, if you want really good coffee, try somewhere else.

The staff was amazingly friendly. The kitties were full of personality. The baked goods were delicious. The lavender honey mimosa was fantastic. It was cozy on the inside, and there re plenty of kitty related merchandise to purchase!
