This store is loaded with items! The volunteer said, "I like to joke that it's a 3 hour tour!" Loaded with clothing, but not many plus sized items. Plenty of other items though!

This place is whack. It is stuffed to the point of being unsafe for occupancy, and it’s definitely not ADA compliant. I wouldn’t want to be in here in case of an emergency. Also, their pricing is very inconsistent and they do not stand by what is written on the tags. The manager refused to sell me a set of plates that was clearly priced “$ / set”, saying whoever priced it was wrong. She said the same thing to the woman ahead of me about an air fryer. If she doesn’t trust her people to price things appropriately, she should just do it all herself. It was super disappointing.

Same exact comment as Joel down below. Same exact situation.Dreadful communication, professionalism, & customer service. For the adoption side- never received an email confirmation that my application went through- so tried to email. Got a quick response that they are going through them. Checked in again a few days later- no response. Cool- drove up there today during “meet & greet” & was told the pet had already got a home. Cool- very happy for that family. No problem. Wrote them again (while in the parking lot trying to console my crying children), asking if they could consider revising their policy of zero correspondence for non-selected applicants- received a lengthy email with a plethora of screenshots of how, basically, I should have read better. So interesting they took the time to “show me the errors of my ways” in a pretty intense email, but couldn’t just send out an email blast to all applicants that dog was no longer available. On top of that, she wrote a pretty passive aggressive: “ We'll be sure to let our friends at other rescues and the local shelters know that you're still searching for a new furry friend.“ at the end... am I being rescue dog “black-balled?!?” Lol 😂

My new happy place! Smiling the whole time. So much stuff to look at and friendly volunteer staff! It’s a little rough navigating a cart around, but worth it! Lots of books, jewelry, pet items, and more! I freaking love dresses, even though I’m technically buying more laundry to do...

Review of the thrift store only. Large assortment of pre-owned goods at fairly reasonable prices. Inside of the store is very cluttered with stacks of items covering every inch of real estate including the floor at the time of my visit. This is to be expected with thrift stores. Staff is much friendlier than other thrift stores in the area (looking at you Goodwill) and is always willing to help. Prices are on par with St. Vincent de Paul and overall are fairly reasonable on most items although sometimes high on items workers feel are vintage or collectable. If purchasing DVDs make sure the disc is actually in the case and that it is not damaged. Also check your receipt because I was double charged for a few items -- not going to make a big fuss over a dollar BUT still it bothers me since I'm here to get a good value and save money.

DO NOT SHOP OR ADOPT HERE!! On Thursday June 23 I witnessed a sweet lady try to buy 3 small ceramic birds for $1 a piece AS THEY WERE MARKED and was denied sale because the worker noticed it was a Rookwood pottery and then stated that the last must pay 50% of eBay sold price on the item THAT WAS MARKED FOR A DOLLAR. THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO DEGRADE AND HUMILIATE THE LADY IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMERS. They the. Called me a crazy person for sticking up for the lady as she fairly found a thrift store item marked with price tried to buy. She was kicked out of the store and told not to come back. DO NOT COME HERE THE DIRECTORS NAME IS JOYCE. HORRIBLE GREEDY PEOPLE

Love the dog we adopted from them. The adoption process was smooth and the description on Petfinder of our dog was accurate. Price was good and she was chipped, had vaccines, and was neutered. The dog had a respiratory infection and she got an infection around the stitches where she was neutered a day or two after we got her. I did not expect to get any money to deal with these issues as we had signed an agreement that I was in charge of her care once adopted. I also understand that these things happen but we spent a pretty penny on her care. She was very sick and would not eat or drink and it was scary for a couple of days. When I adopted my cat from a humane society in Kentucky, it was nice because they offered to pay for any issues that might arise due to issues previous to adoption. I realize the money to do this for all rescues at Peppermint Pig might not be there. She is now perky and happy and best friends with our other rescue dog. We love her so much and appreciate all the people who made it possible for us to adopt her.

We have adopted two rescue dogs from 'the Pig' over the years. The amount of effort and care the staff has for their role in saving animals is above and beyond anything I have seen before. The store has so much stuff that every day you go in, there are completely new items and it is never dull. No matter why you visit, you will be pleased with what you find.

A thrift store packed with donated merchandise. Proceeds go to help defray costs of their dog and cat Rescue. View dogs for adoption on weekends. Everyone has always told me what a wonderful place this is to donate items, especially pet supplies. Volunteers are very personable, Debbie, Fred, to name a couple. Highly recommend stopping in.

Very unique and pleasant thrift shop, with some wonderful cats wandering the store as well. Were it not an hour and a half away from home, I would regularly visit.

Their prices used to be reasonable at their old place. Visited their new place yesterday and couldn't believe how high their prices are now! I have always loved going there because of their reasonable prices plus it was benefiting the animals. Sorry Peppermint Pig, I won't be coming back. I realize you have a new place to pay for, but dang you get the stuff for free (I've donated a lot of stuff myself) and you would sell more items with reasonable pricing. SMH

I submitted an adoption request for one of their pets even asked if the dog was available prior to submitting the application. Followed up two times to see if the dog was still available and still to this day have yet to receive a response. I logged in today (2 weeks after my initial application) to see adoption pending for the dog. Still no updates on my application. I am a dog lover and anyone who knows me knows that any dog under my care is going to an extremely loving home. Thanks for your great customer service Peppermint Pig (insert extreme sarcasm)

A friend of mine has been telling me about all the great things she finds in this store so I decided to stop in and take a quick browse to see if I wanted to come back tomorrow when I had more time to shop. I got to the store at 4:18pm and the lady up front was very nice and said they close in about 10 minutes, which I knew, so I told her I was just taking a quick browse. I looked at a couple things in the store then at 4:20pm another lady came up to me and VERY rudely stated that they are closing right now. I looked at my phone and saw it was 4:20 so I asked "oh, right now?!" And she said " yes right now so if you have any purchases you need to take them up front now." I went to walk out and the nice lady said "come back and see us." However, I do not plan on doing that after this very rude experience I had with the one lady!! Such a disappointment for a store I was so excited to visit!!

We stopped in one time in the past for shopping the thrift store and had a few good finds. We decided to try it today on a whim and saw a dozen cars in the lot as we pulled in. We entered the store at 3:55 and as we the door was closing behind us overheard one of the employees complaining loudly and indignantly, “People think that when we close at 4 it’s okay to come in a browse at 3:55!” My teen didn’t hear this and headed toward the clothing when we heard a yell behind us in our direction, “WE CLOSE IN 5 MINUTES!!”So our fun afternoon shopping together had a black mark on it from this experience. I told my teen that we needed to go because they were closing. On the way out, I saw another employee near the door and told her what we overheard, that we didn’t know they closed at 4, and that it made us feel unwelcome. She told us, “It’s just comments.”Too bad, as we like the idea of reuse and of supporting animal adoption. But I don’t want to shop somewhere if I might have to deal with passive-aggressive treatment from the employees when I’m there. Maybe you won’t have that experience. Unfortunately, maybe you will.

Absolute zero communication abilities. When you call the phone number (which they never answer) says they’re open until 5pm but when we arrived after over an hour of driving they tried closed the door as my son was reaching for the handle, but when i told them we had just driven for so long to come here they let us in only to tell us that the dog we wanted to see would only be at the store on saturdays because they don’t keep animals in the store. When I asked why no one ever answered the phones someone very condescendingly told me “well we’re in the middle of moving”. They need to make it known sooner than the very bottom of their page that they don’t keep animals in store, or maybe answer their phones. Very poorly run business, would recommend going elsewhere.

Good deals free parking. Help is all volunteer. All to help the animals.if you're moving or just plain cleaning out take it to the pig.no use wasting things you don't want someone will find a use for it.think of your pets being dumped out if you move your stuff can help them. Times are always the same just called a different name but the name is always the thank you for helping.🦉

I have now put in 2 applications on 2 different dogs through this company. I am not mad I didnt get chose to adopt because I am realistic and understand there are many families wanting to extend their family, however I do not think it's too much to ask to just write me back when asked if you even received my application. I had wrote the company after the first adoption to see if they could hold my application and no response to that either. So if you have questions or concerns good luck hearing back from them.

Fantastic thrift store located in Anderson Township. Huge variety of home goods, clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. All proceeds benefit animal rescues and adoptions. The staff is 100% volunteer. Quality donations welcome. Volunteers needed.

They have a lot of various items crammed in there. Prices seem to be all over the place though. Some things are low while others are high. It does seems like the majority is mid range.

Packed with useful merch and nice clothes. The prices are ridiculously inexpensive and they have deals all the time. Holiday items are especially plentiful and cheap. Love the volunteers and their mission

Why are guys so rude about everything? Also why would we supply vet records for our dead dog from 3 years ago? Your condescending snarky remarks don't go in noticed. We did understand the terms provided. No we did not get confirmation emails from you or we wouldn't be leaving a review. I love how you have all this time to reply to a review but then claim on your website that your very busy and can't reply to anyone for pretty much any reason. Just send an email saying our application got denied and why it got denied so maybe be can send it again. You managed to make this fun process of getting a new pet extremely frustrating.

Don’t get me wrong this place gets beautiful dogs, but they will consistently pass up “perfect, more than qualified” families because they can charge a non refundable application fee for each of them and would rather collect cash than see their animals placed quickly in a loving home. For example my brother in law who is a cop with k9 experience grew up with German Shepard’s and was still rejected because they say they want it to go to a home with experience... how can he has more shepherd experience if he can’t rescue one. He’s just trying to get his lab of 4 years another doggie sibling... Also they prefer a home without cats without giving any family with other fur rescues a chance. I just wanted to warn anyone to talk to them before applying because they just want your money. I know $10 is not a lot but keeping the dog up for adoption just to keep the cash flow, keeps the dogs in the shelter longer and prevents them going to a nice home ASAP.

I discovered this thrift store today. What a WONDERFUL little place. ALL of their proceeds go to their animal rescue. The workers are VOLUNTEERS. Two of my favorite things, thrifting and helping animals. I will definitely be back. ❤

Ok so first let me say how I've always loved this place. I shop here on a somewhat regular basis and have always donated items here. I had filled out a pre adoption form and had gotten a response to come and check out the puppy. It took 5 days to hear back from them and in the meantime we had adopted a puppy from a local shelter. Before I came in to meet the puppy at PP I called and spoke to Jim, telling him about our most recent adoption from the other shelter. He seemed fine with that and told me to still come in if I was interested, which I was. I rushed out of work to get to the store in time, we walk in, they hand me the puppy and we instantly fell in love with her. My kids were holding her and we're so excited. Then, out of nowhere some extremely rude volunteer comes up to me asking if I had just recently adopted a different puppy( I had already spoken to Jim 1 hour prior). I told her yes, she asked where from, I told her from ARF. She then said "oh no... we can't have our puppies with other puppies, especially from a place like ARF. I rescued 2 dogs from there and spent $7000 to help them because they were so sick." Then she abruptly walked away. No sorry we had you get your hopes up, nothing.I was completely in shock. I then had to take the puppy from my 2 year old daughter and give her back to the lady behind the counter. She should have pulled me aside and spoke to me, instead she humiliated me in front of a bunch of people and made me feel like a terrible person for adopting from ARF. My bad, I thought I was doing a good thing by saving a puppies life. We were looking forward to possibly having 2 puppies and giving them wonderful lives. Let me also say this review isn't about PP in general but about the lady who completely embarrassed me. I would have gotten her name but like I said she disappeared and honestly I was upset and left crying. I hope that puppy finds a home as good as the one we could have given her. Ok...end rant.

I'm consistently amazed at the wonderful work they do at Peppermint Pig. I've never seen a group of volunteers work harder than these people do and all to save the lives of unwanted animals. After volunteering there a few times I have a completely new view on what they do there and I couldn't be more proud to be affiliated with them. We now have 2 PPAR rescues who now have happy, healthy loving homes all because PPAR saved their lives. Please consider donating, volunteering or even fostering with this worthwhile organization.

A very interesting place to shop, this place sells a little bit of everything from home furnishings to clothing. Proceeds go to support their animal shelter, so I'll definitely be back to help support such a worthy cause!

How is it not class discrimination that you require fenced-in yards to adopt? I'm perfectly capable and willing to consistently walk my dog as often as they want, this is a terrible rule that comes from their inability to judge people case by case and instead just ban across the board leaving good owners and homes for dogs vacant that could have easily been perfect fits. I absolutely hate this rule and institutions that apply it, it's completely wrong to humans and dogs that miss out on their forever homes due to this discrimination. You claim you want the best for dogs and yet keep them from loving owners and families, hypocritical and unethical in it's most basic sense.

I wanted to grow my family and give a puppy some love and attention so I recently submitted my application for adoption however the communication is awful as well as I was discriminated since I do not have a fenced Yard. I live in an apartment community where there is several apartment buildings surround them so its a shame that they are very selective when it comes to a puppys life when there are very good people out there that want to give a dog a great life . I will not refer them to anyone with their lack of professionalism and caring for a dogs life.
