Had a really great experience with our basement remodel. Only used Neals for the finish trim on our project after we met them following a terrific job they did on my folks’ condo. Our trim work was tricky- lots of weird angles and small spaces and uneven walls- just want you get with a house built in 1910. But the team was amazing. They were communicative and clear during the bidding; supervisors came by regularly during the work. And the guys doing the work were superb. Old school talented carpenters that take tremendous pride in their work. I really enjoyed having them around and chatting with them from time to time. They asked questions when relevant and cleaned up the space every day and were just a pleasure to work with. I already have them signed up for some outside trim work this spring. Thanks!

I highly recommend Neal's. They remodeled our kitchen and built a new garage. We live in a historic home so there were challenges that they were able to navigate proficiently. The coronavirus pandemic offered additional challenges and with our approval they continued to work safely and professionally. Neal's is exceptional with their customer service. Absolutely 100% (and more) pleased with Neal's. My wife & I have owned multiple houses in different states and have dealt with multiple remodeling contractors. None of the contractors come near comparing to Neal's. Why? Our project was converting an outdoor porch area to a 4 season room. The number 1 criteria in our sourcing and selection of contractor was TRUST. The trust started immediately when we met with one of the owners and the designers. I was most impressed that before the project started, our project leader and the owner came to our house to meet with us and have the Neal's Pledge of Quality & Trust read out loud to us. The project team did not disappoint and they delivered the quality we expected and paid for. Friendly, clean, timely and most of all trust worthy was what we expected and, again, Neal's delivered. A bit cliche, but the old saying "you get what you pay for" truly applies to Neal's.

My first experience with Neal's was seven years ago when I did a complete remodel of my kitchen. I was so pleased with the level of professionalism, great design and quality craftsmanship, that when it came time to remodel my master suite and powder room, I didn't hesitate to call Neal's. My project took place during Covid and the team took extra care to keep things safe. Once again I had a fabulous experience and I was able to work with some of the wonderful staff I enjoyed so much before. The full service provided a smooth process and the everyone was all about making sure I was happy. I am beyond thrilled with the way my bathrooms, closets and master bedroom turned out. We engaged Neal’s Design and Remodeling based on the recommendation of a colleague who had an excellent renovation experience with Neal’s. We are delighted that we followed our colleague’s recommendation. Neal’s completed a major design and remodeling project for us and the outcome is beautiful. This experience included renovation of bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen with cabinetry made by Neal’s. We found Neal’s staff to be very professional, caring, and competent. Their design expertise was outstanding and their strategic approach to a multiple step renovation process was well supervised with regular communication. Neal’s just completed a superb remodeling job for us, on-time & on-budget. We couldn’t be happier! We must admit that they are our cousins. But we choose Neal’s, not because they are our relatives, but because we love them as professional builders and remodelers. They have done a ton of work for us over the last 40 years, building 2 houses, major remodel of another, room additions and much more. Obviously we enjoy the process. We have used other professionals from time to time, but we return to Neal’s because we trust them to be honest, detailed oriented and professional. For our latest undertaking, a full kitchen remodel along with several minor projects, Neal’s completed the job in the agreed on 10 weeks. Our condo neighbors, doing a less extensive project at the same time with a different contractor, watched while their job extended and doubled, 8 weeks, yes eight weeks, beyond their expected 8 week job. This kind of stuff just doesn’t happen with Neal’s!! So we happily highly recommend Neal’s Design Remodel.

The entire Neal’s team was phenomenal! Neal guided us through the entire process, from beginning to end, with us every step of the project. Connie designed a beautiful new kitchen and family room for us, totally updating our home. She was very patient with us throughout the design process, always available for questions. Over a period of 25 years, we have used Neal's to remodel our home 4 times: extended family room, basement, extended bedroom & bath & dining room, and the big one, extending our kitchen to form one large area with the family room. Basically, we now have all the features of a modern day NEW home in a location we love and a property tax half of what our neighbors pay on their expensive "teardown homes". I would highly recommend Neal's based on the detailed preparation they do to assure they meet our requirements, a disciplined build schedule, and the best craftsmen in the business. Remodeling is always stressful, but Neal's resolved every issue to our satisfaction and we no longer need to look for a new home!

Neal's did a fabulous job remodeling two bathrooms for us. Everybody who worked on the project was respectful of our home and pets. The designers, Michael and Laura presented us with several design ideas and once we decided on the design we desired, they worked with us on the selection of all design materials. We were able to make selections from their showroom and we avoided running all over town visiting suppliers. Jantsen, the supervisor on the project , advised us each week which contractors to expect during the week and he made sure that the project was completed in the time schedule that he originally formulated for the project. On top of that he was a marvelous craftsman. Keith did the tile work. It is hard to imagine any tiler with the skills that he possessed. He was a true artist in his decisions on how to lay out the tile work and he did a meticulous job installing the tile. In the future we plan to use Neal's to remodel our kitchen.

I can’t either recommend or not recommend this business but will leave a mention here, for anyone searching, that this business does seem to gear towards high income clients. I had that impression after viewing the website and seeing the gallery which is basically all Indian Hill and if you’re an average person with a reasonable budget, you may not want to waste your time. A small laundry room convert to a mudroom along with a powder room “face lift” was quoted at 40k, without even seeing my place. The average mudroom update is 7k with 12k being at the high end. So understand who they’re geared for before inquiring. Based off their gallery they do amazing work

Neal's Design and Remodel has just completed a major addition to our 100 plus year old home in "Old South Milford" for myself and my wife Donna. I would like to share our experience.I attended a home remodeling expo at the Sharonville Convention Center this past year. We were considering an addition to our home but we wanted it to look like it was part of the original design. Many older homes in Milford have had additions that stick out of the side or rear of the homes and are not very flattering.I visited and spoke with several remodeling companies and wasn't completely sold until I visited Neal's booth. Their representative was very convincing and assured me they would be able to satisfy our needs. I agreed to leave my name and number for a consultation and was contacted by phone and we arranged a meeting at our home.Our first meeting was designed to determine our wishes , desires and budget. Neal's gave us a lot of information about the history of their company as well as lists of projects they have completed. They explained they had an architect that loved working on older homes to preserve their original architecture.After several meetings, which included the architect, we signed a proposal to proceed with preliminary designs. We met with the architect several times and finally decided on a design. Neal's then came up with a rough budget, pending final selections. One of our final meeting was getting information to determine how they could proceed in a manner to cause as little disruption to our own daily routine as possible, such as how many animals we had and what their routines were.We were told that weather permitting, our addition, which was a three story addition including the basement, could be completed by this Thanksgiving. There have been several remodeling jobs in our neighborhood in the last several years and rarely were any completed on time.We met our project supervisor, Chuck Crellin who is a young Marine veteran. Chuck and has three young boys and a wife who was and still is, going through some major medical treatments, however he always had a big smile on his face . Not only was he an amazing carpenter but he was also a great problem solver. Our project was very challenging due to the age of our home and the need to match our roof design and siding needs. Our home has cedar siding and cedar shingles on the portion above the siding. Chuck did an amazing job juggling all the various contractors and making sure building supplies arrived as needed. Chuck had great "people skills' and treated all workers in a kind manner yet he expected quality work from everyone. Several times there were problems that arose due to the age of our house and every time Chuck came up with a solution.The primary carpenters, in addition to Chuck, were Alan and Troy. They were very polite and very skilled. At the end of each day Troy cleaned up their outside work site leaving the area very clean and orderly.Each of the subcontractors had very polite, skillful workers who were very responsive to our needs, trying to cause as little disruption to our daily lives as possible.We were very comfortable leaving our home unlocked even when we went on vacation. We eventually felt like Chuck was a member of our family. He always spoke about his kids and his wife Liz and was always happy when he went on overnight camp outs with his kids.The construction was completed ahead of schedule and exactly on budget, including extras we had agreed on.We were amazed at the quality of the workmanship on our addition and the overall performance of everyone that worked on it. The lumber and materials used we all high grade. We never dreamed our addition would look like it was part of our original home.The old adage, "you get what you pay for" is evident with our addition. We would recommend Neal's to anyone hoping to remodel or add to their home. I feel they are unequaled for home remodeling in the Greater Cincinnati area. What an outstanding company to work with!We recently had our old wood deck remodeled by Neal's. We had seen photographs of their remodeling work on their website and in their offices, liked what we saw, and believed if they did our project we would be pleased with the results. Our high expectations were exceeded! They did a wonderful job of turning our worn old deck into a thing of beauty. All of the personnel we worked with were professional, skilled, and courteous. They took my deposit and didn’t respond when I asked for a resend of my design. I also asked to sit down and review the quote to try to figure out how to make it less and they never gave me the opportunity. On top of ridiculously high quotes. So I basically threw 3500 out the window. Buyer beware. I hear they do good work but I will never know. Second bad experience with Neals.

I reached out to Neal Design & Remodel today to see if I could get an estimate on removing a potential load bearing wall to install a kitchen island. While they do not work on such small projects like this, I spent 20 minutes of the phone with Alan walking me through all potential scenarios and pitfalls with a project like this. He made great suggestions to me on how to find the right person. He even gave me his cell # if I run into issues and said he will send someone to look at it for me. I wish I had a remodel project for them because I would certainly go here for any work! What customer service and I'm not even a customer! Thank you Alan for all your help! Had a bizarre phone call today with Neals. I thought I would be setting up a time for someone to come out, look at our project, and give us an estimate for the work needed. Instead, I was quoted $20,000-$30,000 for a bathtub to shower conversion, sight unseen. The person I spoke to was not interested in coming out to look at the project to see what actually needed to be done. The job involves removing a tub, re-tiling the enclosure, and installing a shower door. There is already plumbing for a shower and we do not want the rest of the bathroom remodeled. When I suggested that the caller might have misunderstood the scope of our project since $20-30,000 is a higher end estimate for an entire, large bathroom, I was told that any job involving a bathroom would be at least this much.
