Most of the staff is wonderful. Knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We buy all our saltwater fish here and have never had problems. They have lots of different corals and anemones. New fish come in all the time. We purchased the largest pump they sold and when we got home it was missing the tubing. The store was closed by the time we noticed so we went to Home Depot and got our own from the plumbing department. We never told Monfort it was missing so they may have replaced it but we just didn't want to wait.

this place has wonderful aquatic plants and lots of decor options. my favorite place to buy things for my tank. their selections make beautiful tank creations. everything in the picture (minus the crystals) is from them!

They have a nice selection of healthy looking fish. Both fresh and salt water are available. I do find them a bit pricey.

I’ve been shopping here for 30 years. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. They have never been the closest fish store to me, but they are the one I’ll end up going to. The best shop around for healthy fish. Hands down.

If your looking for freshwater fish(cichlids) a decent size for a decent price don't go here, most of them to be honest look sickly, sunken belly, white spots on fins, found one pink peacock that look healthy, the worker was trying to tell me it was like $100 but it clearly said on the tank that peacock cichlids were $65 knowing that that was the only decent looking fish in the tank, and the other ones were small and they were asking $65 a piece for them, most of which didn't look healthy at all,ohhhh and beware the Driftwood that they're selling bought a peace cost me over $100, had it submerged for over 6 months,still floated 100 lb Rock to hold it under, got some advice if you're looking for anything freshwater look somewhere else 💪

First time being here and immediately I was amazed. Lots and lots of tanks, all of them fully stocked with Freshwater and saltwater fish, inverts, plants, coral. Everything appeared to be healthy, kept clean and most of the prices were pretty standard if not less expensive! Definitely a must see lfs!

Great mom and pop style fish store. Wasn’t harassed by management while browsing. Bought a couple odds and ends aquascape. Has a freezer with Hikari and SF Bay frozen foods, just ask.

I needed to test my aquarium water, and happened to be nearby, so I stopped in. The kits seemed overpriced, but I went ahead and purchased. When I got home, I found a kit with 4x the strips, testing for more problems, for half the price. I planned to return the kit from MA, but didn't get out that way for a couple months. When I did return, they would not give me a refund. They will only refund within 2! weeks of purchase! That seems an exceedingly short time, and the prices are outrageous. I will not return.

My absolute favorite pet store in Cincinnati! I stop there as often as I can to see what's new. They have a vast selection of PETS AND PLANTS that you you won't find in the big franchise stores. And aquascaping stones that I've never seen before. Everyone that works there is courteous and knowledgeable about whatever's in the store. The very best cichlids you'll find in a store! Big franchise stores have got nothing on Monfort. Before you order something online, go here! I bet they have it! And if you visit Cincinnati OH, stop here!

This store has a large variety of neat fish to choose from. The live plants for your tanks is also a big selectionMy husband and I bought glass catfish and a plant. The fish are so neat. The workers are also very nice. They are on the floor actively asking if you need help or have questions. All in all it's a great stor. The only things I think could be improved are physical. The store is crowded with all sorts of supplies for fish and other pet needs. It could be organized and displayed a little better. The building is old and could probably use a good scrub down both inside and out. Honestly if the store had a bigger building where they could display their goods and have bigger isles in a cleaner environment it would probably triple it's success which is saying something consider the store had lots of customers already when we were there which was only for a short time.

One of the very few locally owned Aquarium stores in the region. Great selection, everything you'll need, and, unlike the Big Box "pet stores," the staff is friendly AND they know what they are talking about. If you're at all interested in Aquarium keeping, this is the place to shop.

I've been going to this place for years and it's definitely the best aquarium store in the cinci area! The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and so far I have yet to get a fish or shrimp from them and have it die, all their pets are well cared for! They've even helped me rehome 2 of my pets when I needed to! 100/10 definitely recommend this place for all your aquarium needs!

I used to really like coming to this store as a kid with my dad because of how cool they setup some of their show and planted tanks.Well the store is about the same as it was like a decade ago. Same interior walls. Minus the cool planted tanks. I remembered my dad back then not tending to buy many fish from this place because their prices were high. They still are. They wanted $28 for a pair of two breeding threadfin rainbows. You can get 6 from online wholesalers for the same price. I get that for small businesses there probably needs to be some markup to keep yourselves afloat, but that discrepancy seems a bit ridiculous.Their plant selection is good and reasonably priced though. I did end up getting a few during my last purchase.Maybe consider making some updates to the store just to make it not feel so dated? I'm not sure when I'll be back.

I have never had a problem with fish I have bought here but I don't think they quarantine their fish unfortunately I hope I am wrong but I haven't really got a straight answer from them either way. This has the best selection of fish around me. I went the longest time without seeing sick or dying fish in their tanks but recently I saw a tank with many sick and dying otos in it amomgst pygmy cories habrosas amd true pygmys and it was although out of the ordinary I find it hard they didn't notice and separate to try and treat those fish. Other than that the majority of the time the fish seem healthy.

What a fantastic variety of plants and fish! The tanks are immaculate. The fish are healthy looking and seem very happy. This was my second visit, and the team is consistently friendly, and the store is consistently well taken care of. It's worth the drive. We'll definitely be back!

Decent store with an ok selection but the older gentleman that runs it needs better customer service. Ask him a question and he’ll assert a point that doesn’t answer your question and then acts like your a total idiot. Definitely better to go to one of the nearer stores as they’ll help you out a lot more.

I had a wonderful time looking at all the beautiful fish and I even left out with 4 fish... Customer service was awesome however I feel like the associate thought I might have gave him a fake 20..."SAD"...Thank God It Didnt end up tragic...SMH...
