This park is wonderful for a nice quiet walk in nature, I walked the trail for over an hour and it was beautiful. There's also a museum, playground, and historic sites !!Playground: Playground is simple but not for toddlers.

Nice view. Went to see the flooding Ohio river. There was no one there obviously do the Covid. Nobody playing in the playground etc.. I hope as the weather warms and the vaccines roll out more that people will return to this little park and enjoy it.

I love this place! It's a great spot to have a family gathering/cookout with ample picnic shelters. There's a great playground and a really interesting museum dedicated to barges. The restrooms were very clean. A lot of people use the park as a launch spot for their boats. There's plenty of parking. People can reserve one of the two yurts they have. My favorite part of this park is the nature preserve that neighbors the park. My dog and I love walking the trails that traverse through woods and then a prairie and I love the ponds! It's located next to the Ohio river and is very scenic. It's usually not very busy as well, which is always a plus for me.

A very nice place to stop on your drive along the Ohio River. I was there early in the morning before the park opened. But it's obviously well cared for. A nice piece of history in a beautiful place. I am so glad I stopped there!

We love this place! An easy way to escape the hustle and bustle and get back to nature. It's perfect for a short hike in the woods. There are a couple of blinds for watching birds and turtles in the waterway. The paths are well maintained and easy to walk. Part of the trail follows along the Ohio River.Dog-friendliness: Dogs allowed on leash.

This place was a really neat place to learn about. We didn't get to visit the museum because it's not open on Sundays. If it was, our experience would have been even better.

I've never actually been to the museum however I do often fish right in front of it. There is an old wing dam underwater & other concrete cover. Caught several nice flathead 17-35lb a fair amount of smaller 1's as well. If I have to fish that stretch of river this is a favorite of mine. Never fished from the bank but if ur visiting the museum just as well do a little fishing while ur there.

It was fun and nice for the kids isn't to big tho while the kids were playing one of the workers came up to us and told us about the animal museum in the park where we could go touch and see live animals and taxidermy. Overall the staff was very nice and the view was pretty and everyone had fun from a 3 year old to a 50 year old and the boys who are 5, 8, 8, and 10 had a great time to. And the 14 and 15 year old girls overall everyone liked the park, trail, museums and spending time together.

Love this park! It's amazing in so many ways, it has a great boat launching ramp for entering or exiting the river and easy access to your vehicle, there are the most beautiful views there, it's always very well maintained and cleaned very well kept, heated bathroom for winter time :-) , an awesome week informed museum, a great spot for having a picnic or family get togethers, and some of the most beautiful nature walking trails! Go and check it out, you'll love your experience!

I brought my sons to go camping here as part of a church group. The area was clean and presentable. The playground was in good condition. The bathroom facilities were also clean. The yurts were spacious, warm, and well-maintained. It rained while we were there so the yurts provided great shelter. My sons and I enjoyed hiking on the nature preserve trails. We even saw a bit of wildlife. Overall we had a good experience there and I would definitely go again.

Well worth the trip. Great tour guide and history teller. Have picnic tables outside, if you want to bring lunch. Nice restrooms inside building. Cost was a donation, if you want. A great little trip to the river. If you have the time, they also have trails to walk. Plus visit Grants Birthplace, close by. A fun day adventure

This review is for the chiloh lock and dam. This place is beautiful and right on the Ohio river. Great place for picnics, and there's s nature center adjacent for some easy walking. The trails are not well marked so you may wish to take a picture of the trail map.

Absolutely great experience! Jim gave us a meaningful and memorable guided tour. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and great at telling stories. So much great history. The exhibits were well put together with great photographs. It has three stories of exhibits. Outside there's a great view of the river, plaques to read, and an accessible, scenic nature preserve. A hidden gem this place. I'll be back next year for the new exhibit about Ernie.

Nice little park. Been many times to. Love the history posts around the walking path. Sit and watch boats and barges on river. Has picnic areas and benches. Just relax and take in sights and sounds. Has a couple of small trails not too difficult to walk.

Very clean and quiet. Smaller than your average park, but directly on the Ohio river, and there's a 1 mile trail in the woods open for hiking.

A great place to bring the family. There is a nice museum dealing with the history of the property and the Ohio River. A play area for children, and nature trails in the adjacent nature preserve can keep visitors occupied.

A little known jewel of a museum. A lot of work went into this. It depicts the previous methods of maintaining a minimum water level for commercial shipping on the Ohio river. So much of the old stuff has been lost. I found it very interesting.

Easy drive out 52 for a great picnic spot. Tour the museum for an hour or so then walk the trails. Very nice boat launch facility and this is the cleanest part of the Ohio River for boating.
