Courteous staff that doesn’t make you drop off your dog during some ridiculous skinny window of time! The staff seems to really love their jobs. They’re smiling, they’re happy and the atmosphere is a warm and friendly compared to just about any other boarding facility I’ve ever taken mydogs. When I pick up my dogs, they’re always happy, never skinny , they look well taken care of and knowing that the staff likes their jobs makes me feel comfortable, dropping off my pets!

A1 Bed & Biscuit Review - In loving memory of DukeI strongly urge anyone considering taking their dogs to A1 Bed & Biscuit to reconsider immediately! On Saturday, March 30th, 2024, I took my 9-year-old, St. Bernard, Duke, and my 11-year-old, English Bulldog, Brutus, for their monthly grooming visit.I was called as I was en route to pick up my dogs from the groomer. Laurie, the groomer, said that Duke had been panting excessively and could not stand up as his rear legs continued to give out. Laurie told me they put down rugs and towels to help Duke stand.When I arrived, Duke was in the hallway in complete distress. I picked up my dogs and called my wife to fill her in. Once I stopped home to drop off Brutus, we immediately went to Metropolitan Emergency Animal Hospital. Duke was taken back right away.The veterinarian broke the news to us that Duke suffered a heat stroke and had a temperature of 106, and needed to have a breathing tube inserted to stay alive as they ran further tests. Duke's bloodwork came back completely normal, and there were no underlying issues.Our son joined my wife and me while waiting in the private room. The veterinarian returned to update us on the side effects of heat stroke. Duke was in distress, and recovery was not likely.We were left with the difficult decision of putting our sweet baby boy down.Now wholly devastated, we returned home without our Duke.Laurie, his A1 Bed & Biscuit groomer called for an update. I told her that Duke was gone.I then received a random test message later that evening from what turned out to be Laurie's cell phone. Laurie expressed sincere compassion, which at the time seemed reassuring. Laurie even offered to pay our vet bill and stated how much she loved our dogs. I replied that it was not necessary as I, of course, thought this was a genuine act of kindness.On Sunday morning, I received another text from Tillie, an A1 Bed & Biscuit staffer. Again, she expressed her sympathy.Something felt off, though, as I reread her text messages and tried processing what had occurred. My wife and I discussed how this could happen and why it happened.We decided to ask Laurie some questions. It turns out Duke was left under a fan, which was different from what fans had been used on Duke in the past. Laurie admitted to talking it over with Tillie and said the fan motor generates heat. In my opinion, this is the only logical reason for Duke to have a heat stroke.I asked Laurie when she noticed Duke panting and his rear legs giving out. She answered it wasn't until she brought Duke over to do his final brush and nail trim. Laurie assumed Duke must have just been in pain.Laurie notified me that the fan had been taken out of service to prevent this from happening again, even though there had been no other incident.My final reply to Laurie was, that is a good thing, but it will never bring our Duke back!Her response: I'm so sorry.We believe they knew what happened, and if we hadn't asked the questions, we would never have gotten the answers.STAY CLEAR OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT if you LOVE your dogs!

We’ve been taking our dog, Bambino, here for years for boarding a couple of times a year. He’s a deaf boxer so he is A LOT of work! They’re extremely patient with him and greet him with open arms every time we come in. They adjust his play area based on his behavior. I leave there knowing he will be well taken care of. He absolutely loves going there - he scratches at the car window as we pull into the driveway!! I highly recommend A1! (A couple of pics of him resting after a week being at A1 ❤️)

I picked up my dog after being there for 3 nights (our first time here) and he was coughing horribly and was extremely fatigued. I called my vet who told me that he likely contracted kennel cough. On top of him getting kennel cough, his blood vessels in his eye had burst from coughing so hard. We had to cancel his surgery to get neutered because he was so sick. He was sick as soon as we got home so I’m assuming that he was starting to cough while at the kennel seeing how his blood vessel was burst. I never received a phone call and was not told anything about him being sick. I know that the workers can’t be around the dogs 24/7 but I just hope that if he was coughing while at the kennel that I would have been told.

We have been taking pets to A1 Bed & Biscuit for over 12 years. My dog runs to the door as soon as we pull into parking lot. I feel she is well cared for and staff is terrificOnce a few years ago she had signs of infection, the staff contacted my designated person, made appointment at our usual Vet and handled things perfectly. I was so thankful for their attention and observation before her eye got worse.

Have taken our black lab Finley here since he was a puppy and he is always so excited to go to A1 and we know when he has had a fun day playing when he comes home tired. So glad this dog daycare is near us

Great experiences with grooming and boarding for the past 4 years. Our golden doodle practically jumps out of the car window when we arrive to drop her off for boarding. She comes home exhausted because she’s had so much fun with the staff and the other dogs. Everyone has been very helpful and has always answered any questions we’ve had. The groomer does a fantastic job…Sadie comes home clean and fresh with a nice, even cut and trimmed nails. We have always had a great experience at A1.

Best kennel - All our dogs growing up have been kenneled at A1. Now, I have my own and live 2.5 hours away. I will drive up to A1 just to kennel my pup. The staff is wonderful and truly loves the animals. My family and I have been kenneling with them for over 20 years and there has never been a dip in the care and quality provided by the team.

Took my pup there for the first time. They were aware that he is a little over a year old and has not yet been neutered. They told me he would just not be allowed to play with the other dogs. I was fine with that. When I picked him up, a woman told me that he would not be allowed back until he is neutered. They didn't mention if he ate while I was gone or how his behavior was. No update about anything. Just said, "don't bring him back." They don't have to worry about that, I won't.

We were looking for a safe and reliable place to board our dog while away on vacation a couple years ago. After doing some research we found A1 Bed and Biscuit. Since that first visit in 2019 our dog Buckeye has stayed multiple times ranging from 3 to 11 days. The price is very reasonable and the staff is always very friendly. While he is on his sleepovers we have him groomed and they make sure to not perform his grooming until the day before we return. This way he looks and smells great upon our return. A1 has also become our groomer in between his sleepovers because of the great price and wonderful service. If looking for a great place to board your animal, don’t hesitate to give A1 Bed and Biscuit a try. You won’t be disappointed!!

Very happy with my experience at A1 Bed and Bisquit. I have boarded my dogs Kokomo and Sharky there a few times now, and every time i pick them up they look really happy and healthy. Also, everyone I speak with that works there is really friendly. I usually get my dogs groomed before I pick them up from boarding.

We have taken our dogs to A1 for 24 years. Our dogs are happy and clean every time we pick them up.I now have a boxer that is bathed and nails cut at A1. He is very difficult for his nail trim,but he looks and smells great.Nails done and dressed with a colorful neck scarf when I pick him up.We have always been please with the friendly staff and secure in knowing our fur babies are cared for.

When we pull in the driveway he is beyond excited and when we pick him up to leave he looks out of the back window like take me back!! I can't say enough good things about A1 Bed and Biscuit and the staff. I have been taking my dog there for years and she gets so excited when we pull in!! She just loves the staff and Laurie does a wonderful job grooming her. Everyone truly loves what they do at A1 and it shows in the care they provide the animals. I wouldn't go anywhere else. They even went above and beyond to board and help me find a home for a sweet dog that I rescued from a very unfortunate situation. Everyone at A1 is fantastic. The facility is always clean and well managed. I can't say enough good things about A1 and the team of wonderful staff there!!

They got my little Zoe groomed the same day I called. She looks fabulous and they listened to all my requests. Prices are very reasonable and everyone is so polite. I would definitely recommend A1 Bed and Biscuit for grooming needs of your fur baby! I will continue going here for all future grooming needs!!

My dog loves this place! He is always so happy when we drop him off for boarding. He doesn’t go that often but the staff all seem to know him by name and treat him so well. Grooming is wonderful as well!

We have a 2 1/2 year old boxer-lab mix and so far we have only used A1 for their doggy daycare. The staff was patient with her and our dog can't wait to go in and play with her friends. (She runs to A1's front door and puts her feet up against it to get inside). We will be boarding her next month, and also using their grooming services.

My puppies have been going here for almost 2 years and LOVE it! The staff is great with them and they can't wait to get in there & play, they love coming here as much as going to grandma's house! We started out just boarding but they now go to daycare once or twice a week. The staff is also very courteous and accommodating with me which I greatly appreciate! I can't reccomend them enough.

All the employees are wonderful and put you at ease when you are leaving your pet. I've been using them for 3 years, when we go on extended trips. My dog is on daily medication and they are great about making sure he has it.

I can't say enough about this company. They're just awesome and I'm so glad they exist.My SO and I were leaving for vacation in July 2020 and planned to drop our 5 month old puppy off at a friend's house. This puppy came into our life at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so he hadn't had much socialization - very little, actually. On the morning of our upcoming 8 hour drive, we went to our friend's house and were shocked that our puppy did NOT take to her or her apartment. We tried everything we knew to try... treats, discipline, taking him outside to run and tire out, etc. After an hour, nothing worked. My SO was panicking.I called my next-door neighbor that I would describe as a "crazy dog lady." She's actually great and knew exactly what to do in this situation - call A1! I got off the phone with her, called A1 and felt immediate solace after speaking with the employee. The employee had compassion and understanding for our situation, offered to take our puppy the same day, and even offered a discount because of the recommendation that WE received!When we dropped our puppy off at A1, he was scared and yappy at the employee. After an already stressful morning, my SO and I were feeling pretty beat down by this point. No fear - the employee performed what I can only describe as "dog magic" and ended up holding our quiet, content puppy in her arms. It happened before our very eyes. We didn't understand it...But it worked. We left, went on vacation and called to check up on the status of our puppy. The staff at A1 were happy to report that our puppy made friends, became the office buddy and overall completely broke out of his shell. They even posted a pretty popular Facebook picture of him.What a great experience. I love when small, dedicated companies like A1 exist. They're so pleasant to work with. We'll be back there in no time!

We would like to recommend A1 Bed & Biscuit to anyone that treasures their pet like one of the family. Because that is how your dog is treated when grooming or boarding at A1. Our little Westie has been visiting there for many years. With over 30 grooms received I can honestly say we have had a pleasant and safe experience each time. Laurie is amazing and so careful with our dog during the grooming process. We never worry, we trust her care and all the staff at A1 Bed & Biscuit.
