The Basilica was built between 1898 and 1920. The attention to detail in this Catholic place of worship is stunning, from the exquisite stained glass to the marble work to the dome murals. This is a great place to visit for people of all Christian faiths. It is wheelchair accessible.

This is a great basilica with tons of interesting history. There's a museum in the basement which has a lot of charm to it. Also don't forget to visit the catholic store across the street which has a great selection of catholic goodies and souvenirs.

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a wedding at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation over the summer. It was breathtakingly beautiful! The details were so intricate and wonderfully designed! I highly recommend visiting!

We drive up from Columbus Ohio several times a year. Very peaceful place to pray and contemplate. Looking forward to the scale sized Christ the Redeemer being constructed on the grounds of Shrine Park.

So much here. We spent a couple of hours and want to return with family and friends. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Don't miss the lower level, amazing things there.Great food at Sandy Bob's Patio afterward was a great addition to our outing.

Beautiful church. Two storeys. Main church at the top. Must visit the lower section to see the various holy artifacts and dresses woven by worshippers over the years. Only main church is handicap accessible. Lacks air conditioning and ventilation. Large fans positioned around the middle aisles. Side aisles can get pretty muggy during summer. Bathrooms in the back. Drive to the stations of the cross in the outdoor park. Gift shop located opposite the church.

Wonderful gem to have nearby. Many miracles performed and documented here. You truly feel the presence of God when in the basilica. The architecture is also beautiful and there is a fabulous nearby shrine park with outdoor Stations of the Cross. If you haven’t visited, you are missing out!

I would recommend attending Mass here, as well as, considering having your wedding and wedding reception here! :-)I was invited as a wedding guest and as part of the wedding music group at my friend's wedding on Saturday, September 5, 2020, and I was immediately impressed by not only the interior of this beautifully historic Basilica, but also from a musician's perspective (I was the fourth violinist amongst three other violinists, an organist, pianist, four singers, a flute player, and a trumpeter) the best view of the Basilica was in the choir loft because you have an amazing view of the artistic ceiling and the main floor below, as well as having the opportunity to have your instrument's sound go through the Basilica with its amazing acoustics!I was sad to leave such a beautiful Basilica because of the wonderful experience that I had there, but I know that I will definitely return to visit it in the future! :-)

Today was my 1st time being in this church it was truly breath taking. Lot's to see and to pray for. Seen and learned so much. Everything was so beautiful. I also loved the free Holy water oh what a blessing. I also loved the park and they allow dogs as long as you keep them on the leash and clean up after they do their job . Very beautiful everything I seen there today. We also visit the store across the street, it was clean and had lot's of nice things except the prices were a little high but otherwise everyone was friendly and very kind. This place ir a must see.

I have been coming here since I was one or two years old. I will soon be the young age of 70. Many miracles have happened here. And my brother was one of them. He lived at the ripe age of 38. When they said he wouldn't live past the age of seven walk or talk. Only Our God and our good Lord and the grace of our Lady. Believe!!!!

The Basilica is located in Carey, Ohio. This is a place of peace period. It's in the atmosphere.There is a lot to see and think about inside of Our Lady of Consolation. Your denomination is not important. What you get from the experience is all that matters.We have visited this place many times before. The vibe is always good. Bless your self up!

My family and I stopped at the Basilica on our way to Steubenville Ohio. We were so enraptured with everything that we spent over an hour. We walked through the self-guided tour from the paper brochure. I was most impressed by the Our Lady of Consolation statue, but also by the relics downstairs. After visiting the Basilica, we went to the bookstore across the street, which was nice. The Basilica is beautiful and inspiring. My only regret is that we were not there at the right time for Mass. Next time I hope to look at everything on the grounds. Please like my review.

My wife, Janice M. Brown and I visited Our Lady of Consolation 3-5 times in the early 2000's. It was on the Feast of Sister Faustina, and we felt the Blessings, Holiness of the Feast Day and Celebration of the Holy Mass Celebrated. She had carried a Picture of Sister Faustina up to the Communion rail with such reverence. On March 14, 2019 she passed away, and after her funeral I found the prayer cards she used before her passing. MAY OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION continue to draw all people to celebrate their Faith there forever and always. AmenI'm her husband Kenneth J. Brown.

The Basilica is always beautiful. May 2021: Some pews are roped off and people were spread out during Sunday mass. A few people were not wearing masks, even though there are several signs to remind people that masks are required. Perhaps some people removed them when they sat down. The gift shop was open and the staff was very kind. The Shrine Park gates were locked to cars but you could walk throughout the park. The Basilica's lower level is a perfect place for quiet prayer and reflection.
