We take our two dogs there for baths about 2 times a month. It is so convienent to just go there and all the supplies are provided. Staff is always super nice. Great selection of dog treats and food.

Their $10 dog washes are incredible! Bring your pup and wash them while they are leashed. So much easier then doing it at home. The staff is friendly and helpful to first time users. The store is clean and well maintained. I will definitely be coming back to wash my pup and shop for pet supplies.

Went in today with my new dog Maggie. The employee that helped us was Shaina. She was extremely helpful with picking out things that will keep my dog happy and healthy. I was particularly impressed by the fact that she was able to point out that Maggie may have some skin irritation due to food allergies and recommended food that would be good for that. I would have never realized that on my own. Overall I was extremely pleased with my visit and I’m planning on becoming a regular here.

LOVE this place! The staff is always helpful and you can tell they genuinely love animals! My favorite thing about this store is the dog bath. It is only $10 and they provide everything you need. Much better than bending over the tub and you can't beat the price. They have a great rewards program and always have a great sale. Prices are on par for most pet stores but I go here because of the people!

Very nice store and staff. They didn't have the bag size of dog food I was looking for, but they ordered it and I had it in two days. What I really like is the dog bath area. Very reasonably priced. They have everything you need. I've already used it several times even thought my dog is just a little guy. It's fun to wash him there!

There is an amazing selection of products in this compact store, and I love browsing here. While there is more dog stuff than cat stuff, the variety and quality of cat products offered is still great. The friendly employees are happy to answer questions, help with food or toy selections, or move heavy purchases to your car. Pet Valu has a loyalty card with a points rewards program, and additional rewards for some food purchases.

Fantastic store! It is super clean, and well maintained. The dogs wash area is beautiful with a mural of price park, and spa like tiled tubs. The employees are extremely knowledgeable, and the variety of high quality food, treats, and toys is great! Will definitely shop there again for my dog. Also, great location right by Sonic in Washington Square. The closest pet store that is similar is all the way in a busy part of Belden Village with a small, hard to get into parking lot.

The ladies at this place are very friendly! They did not have the dog bone we were looking for, but knew where to get it. I recommend this place to all who has pets. I did end up getting a nice cookie for my friends dog. It looked so good I just about kept it for myself.

I recently visited this store and spoke with the store manager Shaina. I have a part sharpei doggo with terrible skin issues. The advice she gave me and time that Shaina spent with me to ensure the comfort of my dog was much appreciated! Great employees!

The manager Shaina spent alot of time with me and my new 9 week old kitten back in April. She was extremely helpful and gave me a booklet... "The New Pet Parent Guide" with coupons. I recently went back as I live about 30 mins away just to show her how much Samson had grown😊 We'll be going back soon to try giving him a bath LOL

Absolutely horrific experience. The individual working was rude and yelled at my child for sitting on the steps near our dog and again for being near another tub not being used. Clearly, she does not have children. We will not be returning and plan to file a complaint with the manager.

I would like to say that I was the store manager who opened this store in 2017. It’s disgusting to me that the new store manager Shania has her teams head so brainwashed that they are slandering my name to customers who stopped here on a emergency run to get pet food. Not knowing that this customer and I are great friends outside of Pet Valu’s relationship this information was given to me. I’d like to clarify to the entire customer base of Pet Valu at Washington Square that I LEFT Pet Valu because they don’t offer work life balance, their compensation for their employees is garbage, and there is NO support from upper management. My entire team left with me because of the exact same reasons. My customer base has followed me and it’s very unfortunate that she had to experience such service from Jennifer because she simply played the question game.

This new pet store just opened up conveniently close to my house. I see a sign outside promoting a dog wash benefiting animals with cancer. Very nice. I entered and couldn't help but notice a very impressive dog wash station that covers nearly half of one entire wall of the store. Thinking to myself whether or not it would be worth the $10 price tag... no mess at home in the bathroom, laundry room, or kitchen... maybe if Fido tromped in mud or rolled around on the ground by the duck pond. Throw in benefiting animal cancer research pushes my answer to a yes. Was greeted kindly by the young lady who then offered to help me find what I was looking for. Crickets and Blue Wilderness Cat food please. This is much better that waiting awkwardly over by the bug packaging area at a certain large store in the area while the employees see me but act like they don't hoping that someone else will dish out my bugs. Crickets at Pet Valu come in an interesting little prepackaged box that you poke a hole in and actually set inside your reptile's cage. That might be convenient especially if the crickets are able to make it alive to the final buyer. Past experience has shown that these little containers of bugs tend to be 75% full of dead bugs on the store shelf. Time will tell, hopefully a success story. I found the Blue Wilderness cat food which the young lady informed they would price match to whatever price I paid normally. Pet Supplies Plus usually beats Petsmart by a buck or two but Google beats Pet Supply Plus off of at least the first five pages of pet stores in the area. So I pull up on my phone the Petsmart in store price of the Blue Wilderness Adult cat food in a tasty chicken formula 12 lb bag for $31.99. A bit lower than the $39.99 I see tagged here. Left the cat food there while I checked out the rest of the store. Broad selection considering the small space. Was hoping to see some really unique collars for cats and dogs. Nothing that would suffice for any of the five furry four legged royalty that I share my home with. Small reptile section covers a couple items that our scaly friends require. Grabbed the cat food and proceeded to checkout. Showed the young lady the $8 price difference to which she responded she was not allowed to go by an online listed price and had to call the store. She called Petsmart and asked for a price check. They gave her a price for an 11 pound variety which was not the same as the 12 pound i was purchasing. She hung up and informed me that the packages are different sizes so therefore could not match. I informed the item they quoted was the hairball remedy of the same brand which they put in an 11 pound bag to level out the prices like the do with the more expensive salmon variety. Didn't want to wait for another phone call. My eyes hurt due to a wonderful allergy to cats and I'm ready to go. Hope the crickets work out... otherwise this will be an emergency only stop in the future for our household. If you are going to offer price match, do your homework and know your competition ahead of time. They update prices once a week on the same day each week.

Every time I am in there, I am greeted by smiley friendly staff. They always take the time to talk about my fur babies as well as theirs. I have power chewers and they always help me find the best options to spoil my babies.

I decided to visit this store for the first time about 5 weeks ago. When heading in with my son and dog the employee stopped me and told me I had to wait, in a very rude manner, because her dog did not like other dogs. She had to take him to the back of the store. Then proceeded to basically rush us through our shopping trip.

It's a mostly friendly place and the prices are very reasonable, but I have to give it only four stars because there's no bike rack that I can find and they give me weird looks when I lock my bike on a lamp post.

Clerk was rather rude. I have a reactive dog that is in class for training. She told another customer she was bad because she barked at another dog. Working in a pet store you should know what a reactive dog is . They aren't aggressive. There is a difference.
