Hello, it has been a few weeks since my girl, my baby cat came in. She was VERY ill due to having the wrong flea and tick meds. By time we got here to PetPlex my girl was twitching and had a seizure. Dr. Jed Henning and his team were very busy but took the time to get her in. They did an AMAZING job with her and took very good care of her. It’s been about three weeks now and she is doing great and back to her normal self. Thank you all soooo much for taking care of our baby girl 🙏🏻

PLEASE READ BEFORE TAKING YOUR PETS: after the incident, I went to the office to try to speak to an owner or office manager since they completely lied about the care given. They would not let me speak to anyone, I said I would be back the next day to talk to someone. They filed a report with the sheriffs office that morning to where I cannot show back up on the property or I will be trespassing. They did this because they know that they are not providing adequate care and did not want me talking to anyone. I have filed a complaint with the Ohio board of veterinarian about this clinic.I am a traveling nurse for work and have been to numerous vets. This vet is by far the worst and least professional place. Please read the other recent reviews, because they are very true. The veterinarian is very unprofessional and has no empathy or care for your animal. He has no care to listen or answer any questions and does not seem to be very knowledgeable. I only came here because the other vets were closed. My dog had a small one spot dog bite on her head by a clean vaccinated dog. Took her to the vet and had to pay $150 before they would even see her for “emergency fee” then paid another $350 for 2 stitches and some antibiotics and pain meds. The veterinarian (Jed Henning) spends about 1 minute halfway out the door with you then sends the vet techs (which are nice, but do not seem to know much when asked questions) to go over the meds and discharge with you. When I got my dog back, she had blood all over her which they did not even clean up even though she had been sedated so they could have. 5 days later, my dog’s head is swollen, irritated, and looks infected. I took her back to the same vet. They tried to tell me I needed an appointment for her to be seen about the infected stitches. I told them that she needed to be seen and after some pushing I finally got her seen. They take her back into the back and I just hear her screaming bloody murder (I guess they didn’t give her any meds before draining the infection on head). The veterinarian came in once again standing in the doorway and spent one minute and said it was infected and he had drained it and was changing the antibiotic. I had to ask if I needed to be worried about the infection spreading and anything to do with her head and brain and he states that it could spread to brain and could “die off” whatever that means and then proceeds to leave… when I asked the vet tech what I should watch for if the infection spreads and repeated what the vet said she seemed to say that shouldn’t happen and doesn’t know why the vet said that… again this time my dog comes out and she has blood dripping everywhere in her eye and on her legs. For this “follow up” I had to pay another $150 whenever I had been giving her everything correctly and it should not have been infected and I should not have had to pay to have it drained. So I paid in total $650 and have a bloody still in pain dog that I will be taking somewhere else to make sure the infection is gone and not spreading. My SO proceeds to go to the vet to try to get more info and why they left our dog so bloody and the vet tries to say that I said not to clean it and leave it bloody. Which is a complete lie. He seems to know nothing and has no bedside manner and that is saying a lot considering I am a nurse and deal with doctors constantly. I highly recommend skipping this place and driving 15 minutes down the road to the vet in Baltimore. I will not be taking any of my 3 dogs to this place ever again.EDITED TO ADD: petplex’s response is a complete lie, beware of this clinic. They stated that they offered to culture to see what kind of antibiotics were needed and that I declined, they never said anything about that. They also said that I was not giving the antibiotics correctly and that is why she got infected. That is also a complete lie as I told the vet I was giving the antibiotic every 12 hours as directed to. They do not know what they are doing and then try to blame it on the clients and make them pay more for their mistakes.

Went in to have my dog seen, he was limping suddenly and wanted to get it checked along with other things. When meeting, the vet did not inspect the areas of trouble and for some reason couldn’t pull up any correct info about us despite coming to this vet multiple times, Made us parade ourselves around the reception table instead of the spacy examination room to see his limp. Then took my dog to another room to clip his toenails?!? Yelped loud in the other room like I have never heard, brought him back and gave us pain meds and anti inflammatory meds? When giving dog pain meds would make him slip in and out of consciousness, this was a $200 experience btw. Find another vet that cares more and is actually invested in the animal.

I have trusted Petplex with my pets for ten years. For the most part, they have done a good job when I needed to bring them in to be looked at for whatever reason that I was concerned about. Most recently, my beloved cat Milo stopped eating or drinking so I brought him in for an emergency visit. Nothing obvious was discovered for the cause unfortunately. After a couple more days with no improvement in his condition, I called to schedule another emergency visit at 8:00 am Saturday morning. I was told I could expect a call back from the on duty veterinarian around noon. When I still didn't get a call at 4:00 pm, I took my little buddy to Medvet Animal Hospital in Worthington. I ended up leaving him there to be cared for because he was in pretty bad shape. The next morning I finally received a call back from the vet at petplex, but I didn't even bother answering because I didn't want to even talk to him. Less than an hour later I got a call from a doctor at Medvet that Milo had suffered a cardiac arrest during an ultra scan and needed to be resuscitated.Long story short, it turned out that Milo had pancreatic cancer and I had to make the hard decision to let him go. I know that there was nothing Petplex could have done to save him, but when you try to get your pet in for an emergency and it takes the on duty vet 26 hours to call you back? That's just not professional at all in my opinion.Dr. Edge is the only person there I trust because she had treated Milo several times and always did an exceptional job. Most of the other people who work there should be flipping burgers somewhere to be honest.

When our FIV+ kitty, Pumpkin, suddenly stopped eating last year things looked bleak. Our regular vet was out of town and a trip to MedVet provided no real help. Fortunately, a friend recommended Dr. Poorman and PetPlex. Within a week Pumpkin had regained his appetite and energy level, and some longer term digestive issues that had plagued him for years were finally resolved. Dr. Poorman was incredibly knowledgeable about FIV-related issues and he followed up to make sure Pumpkin was doing well. So, when Pumpkin stopped eating again last week we knew we should turn to PetPlex. When I called to make the appointment I was told that Dr. Poorman wasn't available but that the vet who would see Pumpkin was very familiar with FIV+ issues. Unfortunately, our second experience with PetPlex was totally different than last year's.Since we came in on an emergency basis I understood waiting times might be longer than usual. But I remained confident that when we saw the vet, Pumpkin would receive outstanding care and that we'd go home with a treatment plan and a good understanding of how to help Pumpkin. I couldn't have been more wrong. When the vet finally popped into the room he hurriedly ran through the lab results ("nothing remarkable" observed), exhibiting no interest in discussing Pumpkin's symptoms, learning more about his history or answering our questions. Even though Pumpkin hadn't eaten or consumed water for the past two days there was no recommendation that a course of subcutanious fluids might provide some relief. It's not clear if a physical examination had been performed: the vet was out of the room before I had the oppotunity to learn if abdominal palpation had been done to identify possible bowel impaction, or if a dental check had uncovered a possible source of pain which might lead to inappetance. The vet's parting words were that "FIV+ cats are susceptible to all kinds of infections and eventually come to the end of the road."I understand that a veterinary practice can be a very busy place. But veterinarians are professionals: they owe respect and attention to their patients and clients. My recent visit to PetPlex cost nearly $500. If I'd left with confidence my pet had been adequately examined and that I'd been given a real opportunity to discuss his case with the attending vet, I'd consider that a small price to pay. But instead, I was made to understand that Pumpkin and I were an annoyance on a busy day and that our sole value to PetPlex was the credit card payment we generated.PS. To provide confirmation of the lack of interest in Pumpkin's case it's worth noting that we haven't received a follow up phone call or email since our visit.

PetPlex is an amazing, caring, affordable place. My 5 month old kitten was lethargic and not eating or drinking. When MedVet and another animal hospital couldn’t figure out what was wrong, PetPlex suggested emergency exploratory surgery the first appointment. Unfortunately, for our baby, the surgery they did to repair what was wrong wasn’t enough. It was enough for her to spend 5-6 days in their care and return home to us for about 5 days. It started out well but ended up the same way it began. She ended up losing almost two pounds in two weeks. The surgery we thought she needed to save her life wasn’t enough. Our sweet kitty had to cross the rainbow bridge on 10/8/22. I had never had to put an animal to sleep before and PetPlex was very helpful in the decision and very compassionate when I chose not to leave Nala’s side for the whole thing. I stayed well past her last breath and well past their closing hours that day and didn’t feel rushed whatsoever. I’ve been to many vets and animal hospitals in my life and so many are about the money but not PetPlex and the place that cremated her went above and beyond. Thank you all so much for making one of the worst decisions of my life a little easier. I am forever grateful. I will never take my animals anywhere else.

I don't know exactly how to rate this vetenarian office so I'm going to give it a 2.5 as I am going through multiple emotions right now. This star rating would of been a five in which I was going to write a beautiful review after we had our appt at med vet. However we just received a letter in the mail with all of his records that they are not going to see our dog anymore or any dog that has any aggressive behavior including fear, aggression, lunging, biting or any other behavior that could be a risk. This is dated March 8th, last appointment was in January with nothing said at the visit or after and I have been in contact with them for other things. My dog isn't the greatest with the vet, not too many dogs like the vet especially with dental exams and nail care. He is more excited than anything. The only issue my dog really has is where he can't open his mouth except maybe an inch and a half which may be caused by an auto immune disease that petplex caught. So while waiting for dog insurance to start in case any other issues arise as we now have to see a specialist at med vet for his mouth. Now we are dropped without a regular vet. Meanwhile groomers can still see our dog to do mouthcare and nail trims without medication. I am beyond devastated. I think this could of been handled better than just being dropped with no warning and I just have to express that because that leaves me and my dog with a new disease without a vet. Not to mention about 5 pets ago I took my cat their for boarding staff was great, it was the most affordable as well. Office staff is great. The vets are great. I pulled my last dog out of my old vet at the end of her life because I felt like they were just trying to get money, 300 dollars for telling me she is fat. Petplex helped me with her got her better pain control so she was able to live the rest of her life happy, until the end when I had to bring her in to be euthanized, there was no wait time either. She was no peach to bring to the vet either it wasn't a problem then either but I chose pet plex because I knew we would get the best care. Pet plex never once over charged me either as a lot of people say, nothing like other vets I had in the past at least. Pet plex has caught things that other vets did not. I have gone to bat for petplex in the community and have told people how good you guys were. It is really upsetting that it has to end this way. I have to turn the 5 star to a 2.5 for poor customer service in relation to my specific situation. I hope I find a good vet.

Absolute horrible experience every time I have been here with my pet. From office workers to the vet techs and veterinarian that we dealt with, which were all different with each visit we had due to staff turn around. I also utilized their grooming services for a short time and was additionally disappointed with the professionalism as well as the way my pet was treated. I have spoke with other people who had voiced the same concerns with this establishment. Myself along with family have taken our pets here and both have had the same poor experience, mine unfortunately was fatal after thousands of dollars spent just to be told by our now/new veterinary office that the wrong test & medication was provided to her. I know there are no longer very many trustworthy offices out there for your pets, but this is definitely not one of them! I had voiced my concerns with office personnel who had to told me I would be receiving a call to express my concerns but no follow up was ever received. I know everyone perceives experiences differently, however this was mine.In reply to your unprofessional response, how can a pet have behaviors when 200$ ( depending on the day, sometimes more, some times less) was provided for sedation specifically for grooming services? & no. I can assure you that NO ONE from that establishment even slightly attempted anything, especially to address any concerns. I can assure you.

What poor excuse for a veterinary clinic. It is truly, a travesty in this day and age when you or anyone in your family is turned away when they are in need of emergency services at a hospital. You’d think that they had never dealt w/ or seen a yapping small dog before! Sorry she was not receptive to being probed while puking. 👏

The doctors and staff saved my babies life when she end up sick with Parvovirus as a 10 week old puppy who was supposed to of already had her shots!! So worried and scared I called around trying to get her help when turned away by local vet’s near by PetPlex had me rush her to their aide and rushed her treatment along to save my baby girl’s life! She is now a 60lb healthy and happy big girl who enjoys going in and visiting the office when it’s time for her wellness check up and or shots! I trust them with her life!! Thank you so much for taking her when no one else would even help🙏🙏

Very unprofessional we came in early for appointment staff waiting around. Our dog felt sickly had accident we took him outside they said they would call when ready they called 3 times went to voicemail because it wasn't the normal number they call from. When went inside they acted like they didn't call made us wait for an hour. We left... if you are thinking this place don't bother better vets in Columbus. Staff very rude lots of dirty looks and judgmental. Not only did you let me down you let my dog Buddy down...

I am deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalism and empathy displayed. Despite spending a significant amount on medical care for our pets, the treatment we received was subpar and downright disrespectful.During our recent visit, our concerns about our pet's ongoing issue were dismissed without proper attention. Instead of listening attentively, the vet arrogantly slammed paperwork on the table and rudely provided instructions without bothering to ask relevant questions or address our worries.Furthermore, despite multiple visits, we were not given clear instructions on how to discourage Coprophagia, a concerning behavior exhibited by our pet. It was only after persistent inquiries that vague recommendations were provided, which were not backed by any substantial evidence of effectiveness.Even more concerning was the recommendation of a treatment that is clearly stated to be ineffective in the provided paperwork. As a well-informed pet owner, I expect better from a professional establishment. It is unacceptable to push treatments without considering their efficacy or the concerns of the pet owner. Moreover, the exorbitant prices charged by Pet Plex are unjustifiable, especially considering the lack of quality care provided. After receiving a quote for neutering that was nearly double the average price, it became evident that Pet Plex prioritizes profit over the well-being of animals and the satisfaction of their clients.Despite having been treated well in the past, the recent experiences have been utterly disappointing. As a result, we will be taking our business elsewhere and will actively discourage others from seeking care at Pet Plex. Our pets deserve compassionate and competent veterinary care, which Pet Plex has failed to deliver.

I started going to this vet back in 2018 and they have seen all of my animals. This used to be a great place to go. The last two years I’ve had nothing but horrible experiences. I brought my Cane Corso in about a month ago because she has been losing significant weight and she needed a nail trim. They know that she hast to be sedated, but they refused to do it because they didn’t think it would be a “Positive“ experience for her. Never mind the fact that she’s lost 20 pounds. Instead, they charged me for a consultation fee and said to reschedule at a different time.Needless to say, I have found a new vet and will be moving all of my animals to a different establishment. One that actually cares about the health and well-being of my pets. If I could give them zero stars, I would.

The vet was extremely condescending. We understand our pup is sick. A little compassion/empathy would be nice. We just want him to feel better.

This place was wonderful to us during a very tough spot in our life. When losing a pet feels just as bad as losing a family member. Bogey was one of the best. This office and the Veterinarian that took on the task of helping our handsome boy cross that rainbow bridge were amazing. They carried out all of our wishes during the process of letting him go. The care that was provided and the sympathy, along with staying professional was well worth what was asked of us, actually probably worth more. Thank you to each of you.

First time going to Petplex. Took my 1 year old Bloodhound for surgery there to fix a cherry eye, neuter, locate missing testicle, and gastropexy. Surgeries seemed to initially go well. Performed by Dr Edge. He was dropped off and picked up on a Wednesday. Friday morning I noticed that his 6" abdomen stitching was protruding in the middle. I called Petplex around 10am and they told me to bring him in at 1230pm and they would sedate him and reinforce the middle of the incision. Dropped him off and picked him up an hour - hour and a half later. A couple hours later he was standing in the living room with his head down. Thread hanging from his abdomen and blood dripping on the floor. His whole incision had split open. I called Petplex around 6pm and texted them pictures of his split open incision. They didn't want to see him until 830pm. I declined service from them since he needed to be seen asap. We drove him to MedVet in Canal Winchester. What they found was that 2 of the 3 layers of tissue in his abdomen had not been sewn up properly. The middle layer, MedVet veterinarian Dr. Dickie said she could slip her fingers through the stitches they were so far apart and the outer layer wasn't sewn or reinforced properly because they completely broke open. He now is fighting infection in his abdomen and has 2 drains in his abdomen currently to get rid of the excess fluid in his abdomen, he is on 4 different medications round the clock. I'm emptying his one drain every 6-8 hours and keeping the other one clean. Due to Petplex's negligence we almost had to say goodbye to him because we stretched our finances to pay for his initial surgeries so when the MedVet bill of 5k came we didn't have the money. My mom had to help pay it so that he could get the care he needed! I will not be returning to Petplex ever again. I called them on Saturday while I was waiting for our dog to get out of ICU. I talked to the receptionist and explained everything to her. She promised that Dr Edge would return my call. I'm still waiting for that phone call...

Thank you for helping my doggy. When my dog was bleeding badly and needed help. The other vets offices turned us away. Petplex didn't. Without the surgery she wouldn't have been okay. The staff took amazing care of me and Eclipse. And we still have our doggy thanks to them.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are slow. They all just stand and talk. They won’t try to get you checked out or anything. I will not be going back to this place ever again. I wish they would just shut this place down.

If we could give a 0 star we would. We took our pup here about 2 months ago and they 100% misdiagnosed our pup, telling us she had pancreatitis. Our gut feeling told us that wasn't right but what else were we suppose to do? The vet was very dismissive towards us and wasn't going to run any tests until we voiced that we wanted x-ray and blood work done. All of the blood work came back within normal range and there were NO signs or symptoms showing that our pup had pancreatitis. She also told us that the X-rays we paid for were not readable since our pup "moved too much". Our pup progressively got worse and we ended up taking her elsewhere. She was diagnosed with a bulging disc. It was pinching her spinal cord and cutting off circulation to the back end of her, causing her to become paralyzed. Thank God my husband and I took her elsewhere or she would not be able to walk today. She went through an extensive surgery and remained at OSU vet for a week. We will NEVER return to petplex and make sure we tell others about our visit.I did end up calling the office the next day (spoke with the office manager) and they would not return any money or do anything to make it right.

Very dissatisfied to say the least. Called Saturday morning for an appointment for our cat who was having uti symptoms. Was eating, drinking, having bowl movements and urinating but started wanting to go constantly. They said it would be an emergency visit at 3 pm. All the vet would offer was a sedative and pain meds and different food. He was not in pain and I asked if she could give an antibiotic. Answer was no. I didn’t take the medication offered and by 9 pm he was urinating blood. Called another vet who gave it an injection of antibiotics. It is definitely on the mend no thanks to pet plex. I would think and hope becoming a physician of any type would one would have the brains, the compassion and common sense for any situation. This vet in my opinion lacked all 3

About 2 years ago now. I took my best friend here for a broken leg. Her name was Stormy. She had overwhelming heartworm (we got her that way). Did everything to treat her for them and managed them for her to be comfortable. One day a tree branch feel in our back yard and she was out running the yard. The branch came down on her and broke what I thought was her paw. But it was her hip and leg. With her condition she could not over go surgery without possibly passing away, due to the heartworm being so bad. I think about her everyday. I carry her ashes with me everyday. I did not have the courage the day I picked her up after cremation to say it. But thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing everything possible for my girl. You have amazing staff and service. I was so humbled by my experience here. I always felt judged for taking in a dog with heartworm. But the truth is, I did not want to watch her suffer in a kennel that she was in for a year. No one wanted her. And I fell in love with her instantly. I worked with the shelter she was at and fostered many dogs before her. But only she won my heart over. She was my best firned. So thank you for treating her like family when I was lost and didn't know what to do for her. You guys are amazing !

Never been here until today and with a very unfortunate situation, they took my dog back right away for triage and exam, per the situation the Dr or whoever I spoke with explained that they recommend euthanasia but if I decided I could transfer him to one of the more equipped vets in Columbus, he was very compassionate during this very distraught time, and when the bill came I only had enough money to pay half, they allowed me to setup a payment plan , which is very considerate during this situation have nothing bad to say about this place as they all seemed very caring with my dog

Our regular vet couldn't get us in for a while and we were in need of quick help. So we called around and contacted PetPlex they told us to bring her in the very next day. My wife did take her in and everybody was so helpful, professional, and all around great group of people. They made what was the hardest visit to go through as comforting as anyone possibly could for the owner and pet. This was our first experience with this hospital but it definitely won't be our last.

We came to Petplex on one of the worst days of our lives. The emergency vet presented all the labs and imaging for us and helped us understand what was happening with our dog. It’s still so painful we had to say goodbye to our sweet senior dog when cancer took her, but the vet and staff are prepared, competent and very kind and compassionate. We appreciate their help and support that awful day.

My 8 year old lab was sick and I had become very concerned! I called every vet in my area and no one would see him because they were booked or he wasn't established there. His regular vet was not concerned and wanted to make an appointment a week out and I was not okay with it. I called PetPlex and they listened to my concerns and even though he wasn't a patient there they still got him in that day. They gave me a price estimate before the did anything. They seemed genuinely concerned with my dogs well being. Even though they had never met him before they could tell something was off! They made everything easy to understand, walked me through what they were doing and asked if I had any questions. They set up a treatment plan and wanted me to check back in a few days later in hopes he was doing better and I can honestly say he is! He is almost 100% back to my old playful puppy!! And for that I say thank you to the great Doctor and staff at PetPlex!! Thank you for listening, thank you for taking him and seeing him in a short amount of notice, thank you for being the only vet to see me! I had to drive an hour to get there but I definitely know I will be back!!

PetPlex is not worth going to if you don't live near it. I wish they'd stop advertising in Muskingum County. As far as having compassion for animals as they claim on their website and being an emergency vet, well that is laughable.

We took our cat Checkers in for an emergency visit due to the loss of use of his hind legs. Dr Henning and kaylee were very caring and explained everything to us. Eventhough it was not the outcome that I had hoped for, and had to make the hardest decision to help him cross the rainbow bridge. they let me have as much time as I needed, and I was able to be there with Checkers every step of the way. I will forever be so grateful to the them. Thank you for everything!

We had an amazing experience at Pet Plex. Dr. Edge and the tech (I wish I knew her name) were amazing. My 14 year old dog Lola dislocated her hip and was unable to walk. I was very hesitant to take her to Pet Plex as I was concerned about the expense (more on that later), but after being referred there by my primary vet I knew I had to get her help. They were able to get her in to be seen after hours. I was warmly greeted and the staff brought out a gurnee for Lola to be safety brought into the facility. The procedure and costs were explained to me and Lola was quickly taken back for her procedure. After it was finished Dr. Edge seemed very eager to let me know the procedure was a success and then throughly explained care instructions.I was shocked at the low cost of the procedure. When I had originally called to inquire about services, before begging my vet to see us, I was a little put off by the method in which they explain the costs on the phone. They explained the tests they would likely run, costs of X-rays, in addition to the emergency fee. I was expecting a $700 bill just to walk in the door before any actual treatments were performed. The experience over the phone felt more like a profit driven business and less like a care driven business. The costs ended up being much lower than I expected. This could also be due to the fact that they didn’t need to diagnose the problem as my vet already had, but I am not sure. I definitely like that they want patients to know what to expect but for some reason it is a little off putting. I understand the fee to be seen for an emergency visit needs to be pain up front as that prevents no-shows and wasted time for the vets and staff. I am not sure how to better the fee explaining but I am sure it is a deterrent for others. When I looked at the fees at Pet Plex compared to our regular veterinarian, there was a negligible difference besides the emergency visit fee versus a regular visit fee. Which is understandable.I would definitely not hesitate to take Lola back to Pet Plex in the future. The costs are extremely reasonable and they do care about our furry friends. Lola received exceptional care that felt very much like going to our small town vet. Thank you so much Dr. Edge the the wonderful tech Saturday evening.
