I adopted my Siberian Husky, "Zeke" from here at the end of last summer. I was able to get him just in time before a number of other people, thankfully. The staff was very friendly and happy to see Zeke getting adopted. He's certainly been a handful at times, they say Huskies are mischievous and he certainly lives up to that but I love the brat and I take him in the car with me as often as I can. He loves it. I'm very thankful to have such a great companion. To those who were working there at the time I adopted him, Zeke is doing great, he's very spoiled. He's wreaked havoc and anarchy at times but at the end of the day I still love him.

Great experience all around. Whether you're volunteering, adopting, donating or just stopping to see what sweet creatures the staff have given a better chance at life. Thanks for doing what you do so well!

This shelter is doing amazing work for all animals. They are desperately in need for donations so that they can care for abandoned cats and dogs or abused ones to. I personally know what an amazing dog I have adopted. Let's show them the love for what they do, and donate anything larger or small.

I volunteered here for a few weeks and I had a blast. The staff is friendly, the place is very clean and the animals are well taken care of. There are mostly dogs and cats, but they do have the capacity for larger animals. I would highly recommend volunteering here and taking a puppy home from here.

I don't like these people they took to my cats that I paid money for and I got the medication in my fridge for them to only and they just want to come into my house because somebody called The humane society on me I give you a guy's because I don't like these people at all because they come to my house about every year because people want to lie and say stuff that's not true so I'm glad I'm moving out of Ohio I'm glad I'm moving to Michigan to get away from Ohio and also not when they can just come in and take whatever they want when I had two kittens that I had going to the vet but apparently I guess you know that's not good enough

I brought my cat to this humane society to get fixed. Will they transfer your cat or dog to a place in Toledo to get your animal fixed. That place did a horrible job my cat ended up getting really sick from the surgery. She ended up getting 106 temperature not wanting to eat are drink and had to go to a emergency vet hospital in fort Wayne to get her check since she wasn't feeling good from the surgery. I obviously didn't want to bring her to the place that got her feeling sick so that's why I ended up go too fort Wayne. Had to spend 395 dollars for them to tell me whatever they did to her for her surgery got her sick and plus the vet said he didn't like how they cut her open and did her stitches. The vet said I'm lucky my cat is still alive. I do not recommend getting your cat fixed here. Very disappointed.

We picked up a cocker spaniel in May. He was scared he was very skinny like they weren’t feeding him, and was covered in urine. I see these bad reviews how come the state doesn’t shut them down. This lace should be investigated!!!!!

The people were very rude to me and to my cat, when they went to take him to the room he stayed in they were not gentle with him at all. Also the place wasn’t clean and there were several animals who had gotten loose that they were looking for. When I went to pick him up the lady swung his cage around and practically threw him at me and shoved me out the door. I wouldn’t recommend this place, the fixing was cheap and I’m happy about that, you can’t beat that price. But the people and atmosphere was rude

It was my first time going through the humane society’s low cost pet neuter for my cat and I sincerely hope it’s the last for anyone else. This was my first cat and I wanted to make sure everything was done right. So I contacted the humane society to get his shots and so he could be neutered. They reassured me all of the shots he would need could be done here and the neuter was low cost. I signed up ecstatically! The second day he was home his body began shutting down and he stopped eating or drinking and only slept. After several phone calls and an emergency veterinary hospital trip, he was diagnosed with a cold from a bacterial outbreak from this facility. How would I know? The local area veterinary hospital tested the strand which was consistent with cats specifically coming from the humane society and the veterinarian informed me that, there was an outbreak there. I called the humane society furious and they said it’s not their fault and refused to answer any of my calls even hanging up on me. The veterinarian said he was having the same issue with a lack of response from the humane society and their outbreak. Keep your pets away from this facility if you value their lives. Unsafe and unclean facilities can kill or seriously harm your pet. And also, always always keep your paperwork as I have so you can have the proof when negligence is performed

Took my dog in to be neutered. Staff was very friendly, answered my questions, and at a decent cost. The vet did an excellent job. And they inform you of any noticeable issues with your animal.

Williams County Humane Shelter does a great job helping save Pet's lives by providing a safe, comfortable transition from shelter to their forever home. I have adopted half our kitties from there and Defiance shelter too. Our Dog Ruby we adopted mostly Lab is one of our family members and we are thankful for her. The Ladies there work hard to find good, responsible Pet Parents for each of the pets who come there.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Probably the worst humane society I have ever been to. I found a small kitten along the side of the road and I had no cash on me which you need to pay a $30 fee to bring in animals and this lady was absolutely rude to me because I could not pay it and telling me to put the kitten where I found it. I I thought I was doing something good and this lady was just completely cruel. That is so very unprofessional. I hope you hire new people for this shelter because they are the worst person to be working at someplace like that.

I love the shelter and all the animals. My fiance and I have volunteered to walk all the dogs, pet them, and give them treats. We've also spent time in the cat room petting all the cats and kittens. We've bought many items they need and donated them for both the dogs and cats.

We adopted a cat that came with worms and a sinus infection. The poor guy was sneezing blood. Now our other cat has the sinus infection so we will be making another trip to the vet. We will just grab a cat out of a back alley next time. They’re probably healthier.

Unfortunately because of new place my family was moving and had to surrender a dog they had been taking care of for over a year for someone else. But the humane society was very helpful and kindThank you to everyone that supports this shelter and shelters like this.

I adopted a dog from facility on 3/14/19. Had to do meet and greet at a tractor/feed store..drove over an hour to see dog...upon arriving , poor animal was filthy beyond belief and smelled to high heaven, of course he needed a chance .paid the $180 fee, plus a $30 harness feed store talked me into. No humane society staff was there for questions, paperwork. Zippo....get home. There are 4 old sutures (nondissolving) hanging from being nuetered....ok, next, we have a poo inside, GREAT , he has worms..we have two dogs already, wonderful...Next day 3/15 finally manage to get call thru to society. He was never seen by a vet, because previous owner..who had multiple animals confiscated by authorities said he was up to date and nuetered...im sure they were "trustworthy" so no need to bother with $on a vet...when the he'll was he neutered? Maybe if society had at least bothered to bathe him, you would have noticed 4 hanging dried up sutures!!! NO microchip! Real responsible !!! I was also told I "can return IT" that response came from the dog warden when phone was passed to her since worker couldn't come up with a plausible reason why the poor , neglected I just adopted for 180$ was never vetted, has old sutures, worms, stunk to high heaven, and no microchip!!! I'm upset for the lack of compassion, concern, and all around ethics of an organization that is for the welfare of animals!!!...what type of care are the rest still in their care receiving....very very disappointed, AND , VERY concerned!!

The staff and warden of this facility have intentionally and vindictively taken and mistreated a dog that was acquired from an owner that was falsely and purposely told by said shelter and staff she must surrender her dog, Olive, due to a LANDLORD/PROPERTY PET POLICY DISCREPANCY! The staff and wardens job is to equally assist and inform ALL parties in these situations while the top priority being the welfare of the animals... The stress caused by actions of the WCHS should NOT be held against the owner or the dog which has never previously had any aggression issues and ZERO strikes against him! The WCHS needs to return Olive to his rightful owner and own up to their mistakes of not properly informing Olives owner of her rights prior to the surrender.. This is also a COUNTY Shelter funded by the taxes and and citizens such as the owner in this specific situation! Please stick to your commitment to the animals and residents pf your community as you previously have sworn to do and DO NOT EUTHANIZE OLIVE! Do the right thing WCHS.. Do it now before more damage is done to all parties!
