Hands down my personal favorite health food store I've been to. Family owned and operated, very fair prices and even cheaper than most places that sell the same items. (Also a great variety of different items that you can't find anywhere else in town). Can't say how grateful I am to have this gem in the Athens area. Highly recommend to anyone who cares about health, supporting local entrepreneurs, and also enjoys a friendly atmosphere to shop. Thank you for your existence Kindred Market and your service to your community 🙏🏼 .

I love Kindred Market. It is a wonderful store with a ton of products from around the world and local based. It is of course organic and you can usually find speciality products that are hard to find at supermarkets or chain stores. It is also not terribly priced. Some things may cost more than what you would pay at a large store, but their products are really good quality. The staff are also super friendly and helpful and the little bakery/coffee place has a delightful array of goodies for all dietary preferences. Definitely a great place to shop from if ever in Athens, Ohio.

I love Kindred! It's my local, artsy, favorite spot in town for any kind of shopping. They have loads of healthy alternatives to just about anything you need, they support local art and produce, they almost always have food to grab and go like soups and sandwiches, smoothies, wraps, vegan and vegetarian options too. It's always part of my grocery day!

Excellent local and health focused place to shop. Unfortunately the manager known as Ashley seems to always be angry and has the workers on edge when she's around. If the workers ever seem unfriendly, it's probably because of her!

Perfectly executed dirty chai and a gorgeous, inspiring place to sit and work on my next children’s book.Frontier teas, in addition to a collection of uniquely curated teas. Very high quality bulk foods at fair prices. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

This has everything you need if you are into locally sourced items, naturally made items, and pretty much anything organic. The vibe is so cool inside and will give you a really good idea of the hippie vibe Athens has.

The prettiest grocery store you'll ever shop in. Thoughtfully sourced. Lots of local products. Some artisan/unique foods. Huge bulk food section. Sparkling clean and nice aesthetics. Check it out!

Hard to imagine Athens without this gem. It just feels good to be in this store! Love the local produce and other local products, gifts, cards, beer selection. Carefully curated store, impressive inventory for its size. And always great music playing. :)

Probably my favorite health food store I've ever been to! Only wish they had a fresh meat section...however the lack thereof probably contributes to this store not having a funky smell like lots of other health food stores do.

I drive over an hour to shop here, finding things I cannot get in my community. My trips have become an anticipated fun trip with my daughters, 8 & 10-years-old. Recently we attended the September Makers at the Market, having a wonderful afternoon and taking home some treasures.

Honestly so incredibly little to complain about. Food is natural but delicious, clarity towards customers, the Cafe is good but could use some improvements. The kitchen makes delicious food as well, and the bulk goods sections far outway those at the Farmacy. I'd recommend this place every time.

Expensive! Very expensive! I try to support local, small businesses. But, I can buy items for just a fraction of the cost of this store. However, the knowledge the staff has and they are very helpful and willing to share their knowledge. I believe it is worth the cost.

This place was amazing. We happen to go down here while there was a festival going on. Had some live music on the street. It was just a great place to be really good atmosphere but highly recommend it.

Awesome health food market with a wide variety of food, plus locally made gifts and a small coffee shop/cafe inside. Wish there were more gf/df prepared options! Pricey but no more than to be expected. Staff were friendly.

One of my go to lunch spots in Athens. They have soups everyday and at least one is gluten free and/or vegan. Great kombucha selection, lots of local vendors, and there’s at least 4 suburus in the parking lot at any given time.

A lot of variety and great products!I gave a three star rating because I’ve been in there numerous times and every time I’ve been in there I’ve never had an employee say hi or ask if I need help finding anything. One time when I was checking out the cashier didn’t say a single word. It’s just not very welcoming.

Just can't say enough about how wonderful this little market is. From price to selection to availability of local goods to clearly labeled specialty items to friendly and helpful staff. Just a delight to shop there. I always find some item on an incredible sale which also is delightful!

Nice little grocery store in the former Blockbuster building. Bulk foods and single independent brewery cans are a plus. Athens version of Whole Foods that takes the EBT card.

We absolutely love Kindred Market for our daily need and special treats. It's the perfect place to grab milk, bread, eggs, veggies from local producers. And it’s also the perfect place to stop by and peruse the aisles and find something new to try. We also depend on Kindred for local beers and cider - they have an impressive collection and let you make your own 6-pack. Everyone’s friendly and helpful — we love it!
