Patrick is the best!!! My teenage son is in college in OH and his car suddenly stopped accelerating. I was worried that a mechanic would take advantage of the fact that we’re from out of town but it was just the opposite. These guys were respectful, and didn't talk down to the customer (me; would've been easy cause I don't know much about an AT). They impressed me with their honesty, too, when they correctly diagnosed my issue as non-transmission related. So I was told to take the vehicle to an engine shop and it all worked out well for me. We had previously gone to another shop to have our transmission rebuilt within 7000 miles the transmission went out. The other shop ghosted us and wouldnt honor the warrenty. We went to Athens Transmission they replaced the transmission and we not had a single problem with it since! Being told you need a new transmission is some of the worst news you can have concerning your vehicle. However, Athens Transmissions made sure I knew they would work with me every step of the way, weather it be a rebuild or replacement.I had a transmission shipped to them and they promptly installed it, replacing all the corroded coolant lines which they explained to me, day one, was the reason for the original transmissions failure.Happy to be back on the road, and can’t thank them enough!Service: Transmission replacement

Everyone has taken one of those trips, just passing through, late in the evening and "bam" the car breaks down. It can almost ruin a great trip.We also have dinner plans 6 hours away that next day and if we can't get this fixed quickly the next day we are not going to make it.We had this exact scenario happen along US50. The car suddenly starts slowing down on its own, we limped off the highway onto a (what seemed) remote road and pulled into a parking lot. Instantly I'm Googling towing services and repair facilities. I found that we were just a short distance from Athens Transmission. They were closed, but I made sure my vehicle was there waiting for them first thing in the morning.Patrick contacted me first thing, just before they opened. He said they should be able to take a look at it today. He asked if I was just passing through, which I was. I had a nice lady that was willing to drive us to and from our BNB and I didn't want to put her out. About 11am that morning Patrick called to let me know it was all finished and ready to pick up. I was stunned! I was already looking for car rentals or a Uhaul to drive home. He explained it was just a radiator hose and they had one in stock and were able to get me on the road right away.We are so grateful! I know they were busy, but they were able to squeeze us in and get us back on the road. What a team! We even made our dinner arrangements :)When I received the follow up a couple days later to check that all was well, I was even more impressed. Rarely have I been so impressed with an auto repair shop. My axle snapped and left me stranded, but they had me back on the road the same day. Everything was carefully explained, and I felt like they really cared about me and my situation. I never felt rushed or frustrated, and the work was completed before the time they said it would be. We were at a loss when learning that our son’s car had problems while he is away at college. We had it towed to a jeep dealer in Athens and the price they gave us was outrageous. We sought a second opinion from Athens transmission and from the very start, they were honest, willing to help us out, and thought they could do the repairs for almost 1,000 k less. I would look into Athens transmission for anything next time we need help. Patrick was awesome!

I called Athens transmission when the trans went out on my 2016 Silverado . My transmission went out and I’m not from this area originally. I have no family and no friends in this world except my wife. The guys at Athens transmission treated me like I was someone they knew and actually cared about. I do -not- submit reviews often and usually it’s for negative things, but the way I was treated by AT was honestly top of the line. When I dropped my car off I was called the very next day with multiple options to get my car going. He told me the prices and aspects of each option and his opinion on the matter and WHY he felt that way about it. I chose the “middle” option which was in my price range and seemed to suit my needs. When the work was done I picked up my car and it runs great and came with a 1 year/12,000mi warranty. I’d like to give all the details but let’s just say that I had some unique issues that I expected to be sent down the road with, but instead I was treated like one of his friends. If you are in this area with transmission issues and want the job done right and not be overcharged then go to Athens Transmissions and save yourself some time and grief.

Honestly unbeknownst to me I believe I had brought them a problem child! My 94 Chevy Suburban have been in the shop and out of a shop for transmission problems. The 4 l60e is noted as one of the best Transmissions out and practically bulletproof if done correct. The guys at Athens Transmission didn't hesitate to take on the job and kept up with me as far as what was happening with the vehicle. The owner calling me letting me know that they had it all back together took it for a drive something didn't seem right so they tore back out. The man told me we will make sure we get it right sir! So I waited and few more days went by and he called me and let me know my vehicle was ready to go. I picked it up and I have not been happier since transmission works as well if not better than a new one. Thanks a lot guys because of you my 94 will roll on for a hundred thousand or more!
