I love my neighborhood Dollar General. The staff there are wonderful and I'm so happy to see the young man who started as a cashier about a year and a half ago make it to manager. He's so caring and helpful. When I'm not around and he sees my SO and always asks how I am doing. I love being Able to buy my favorite brands at low prices.

Excellent one stop shopping for all your cleaning needs.everything from toilet cleaner to dish soap to laundry detergent. Very, very competitive prices always and with great sales. Also while you are there pick up dog and cat food as well as some groceries for yourself! They even have a small automotive department, if you need some oil or wax. Tons of diversity as far as their candy goes. Lots and lots of seasonal stuff. I just picked up a few things for the garden. Great place to shop.

Associates were polite however the ad said certain cereals were 3 for 6$, the shelf said 2 for 7$ and either way it didn't matter because they had no stock. They were out of most of the cereal I was interested in.

I live in Conneaut, Ohio where not only are there #3...(three) Dollar General stores all with in 10mins of my house as well as #2... (two) Family Dollar stores in that same radius, and I would still rather shop at this Ashtabula store! (This has nothing to do with Family Dollar being referenced-they just carry different items than DG) The cleanliness of the store and the politeness of their employees versus Conneaut by far out way the drive or extra money spent!!!! The management of Ashtabula employees is top notch (LIKE IT SHOULD BE) and they should come train Conneaut management because it is sad when you can't get help in a store and the employees are young and have attitudes and treat customers rudely after I go in there and spend, spend, spend!!!!P.S. On a more personal note...I had applied for a job at the Conneaut DG,I was brought in and interviewed...told that I was hired. I was even advised on employee dress code and told to buy work related specific apparel. Went home to complete online hiring packet which was one of the most extensive questionnaire, testing, resume, agreements ETC... I have ever filled out. Especially when I was just given a position for retail/associate at minimum wage. I was told to call bk to let manager know that I had completed the packet so I did and after a couple weeks of not hearing anything I decided to call, quite frequently. I even made unnecessary trips to the store at different times to try and reach the manager. NO LUCK! FOR MORE THAN ANOTHER COUPLE WEEKS! Finally I do reach her (manager) and she stated that my background check still hadn't been received back to her. I asked several questions about the messages I had left trying to reach her, and she gave me no explanation of any kind just said that I would be hearing back from her after the background check came in. Well, a few days later I got a copy of my background in the mail and a list employee rights pertaining to the development of any decisions made after receiving my background check. I again found myself calling the store for the manager NECER being able to reach her, and she NEVER tried to get ahold of me...until I got another piece of mail from the company that did my background check and it stated my offer of employment was terminated and only gave instructions for filing an appeal of that decision. Yet, no reason why I was no longer hired! I went back through the background check and found a slight half truth situation (hard to explain - and not specifically easy too) that was listed wrongly and I have been working on trying to straighten it out because it was untrue and worded in a way that anyone could easily perceive in a manner that one's character is looked upon forever differently. I am very disappointed that I was treated in such a manner where someone needs a company has the authoritative position titled Manager that they couldn't or better yet, wouldn't find it not only necessary but part of their job duties and responsibilities to communicate with employees new current ongoing whatever the case may be and speak to them face-to-face with respect and an explanation of why their employment was terminated. It's me in all reality it should have been done also common sense of human decency. Something Conneaut Dollar General stores are severely lacking!!!!

I can pick up my Gatorade or Powerade a lot cheaper than I can get them at the grocery store but they are about the same or a little bit cheaper at Walmart but at least at the Dollar General store you get a better variety and you can pick up milk a lot cheaper there's a lot of stuff that you can get a lot cheaper and you don't have the distraction like Walmart does

I used to like to shop here for a few things but then in their wisdom they decided to sell milk for $5 a gallon so I stop shopping there altogether

In the past few weeks the dollar general folks have really stepped it up and still manage to keep a smile. Plus only place I find toilet paper. Everytime. Lol. But true.
