They had three ball pythons co-habed in a 10 maybe 20 gallon tank, a water dish that was too small, one hiding spot thermostat hanging off the walls which the snakes can choke themselves on. Ball pythons should never be co-habed together, them being together causes them stress and will make them stop eating, that’s not even the worst case scenario, if males are together they will fight each other. I know the snakes were in distress, they were climbing the walls which is a clear indication of stress. Ball pythons are nocturnal, two snakes were in the hide together, meaning the third had no room to hide, enclosures should have AT LEAST two hides.

They have great products but this store seriously needs to change their name to “Ashland Pet Supply store” they only carry supplies except for the occasional cat adoption. If you are wanting actual pets this is not really a place to go. You’ll have to go to Mansfield or Wooster for that unless you want simple freshwater fish which you can find at pet stop.

This is a great pet store and I have always had a wonderful experience with the staff until today when the owner was in. I have a male young dog who I am training to be a well-behaved dog. We drive out of our way about 1x a month to visit the "toy store". He has a harness with a handle and a leash and I have a hip bag with treats. With that being said. I am a responsible dog owner and we use the experience for training, a new toy and getting necessities. When we walked in today I was 1 foot in the threshold and the owner asked "can I help you with anything " it was a whole bad attitude and she was very unhappy I brought my dog in. She was loud whispering the whole time I was there and pacing back and forth (which wasn't very long because the whole place had a very uninviting atmosphere to it) she was telling the staff to watch me carefully because I had a male dog who could lift his leg to merchandise. This is understandable, she doesn't want to have product ruined. However! Her behavior was extremely rude and she wasn't even trying to hide it even though my dog was by my side and I was training a well-behaved but energetic puppy. Exposure, training and a responsible dog owner is the key to having a wonderful pet. I understand her concern but to target us before we entered the shop and treat us as rude and uninviting as she did is unexcusable. It was simply because he is a male. We had a target on us before we even walked in. I have never had this experience with other staff members in the past. We will be finding a new privately owned pet store who has better manners than this one. I dont mind driving the extra distance for one that is more tolerable to all dogs. Not just the ones she deems appropriate to visit her store. I hope she does see this post and replaces her sign "no animals aloud"

It's wonderful! They have pet wash stations Ann at almost anything that you could want! The only hmm I had was that they told me that they have crickets in the shop, but they only have the crickets in the small box to sell. I prefer seeing them before you buy them. What if most wew dead or no water or food for them. There was no date on the boxed crickets, and the sales girs didn't know. So, it fly be my set of my pants. They're very awake, alive, and working. Thumbs up!

A fantastic store full of employees who love animals. We have been taking our dog here to get his nails trimmed and they have always done a great job. Our dog loves every employee he has met, which means a lot to us. Highly recommend this store! Frankly, I won't shop anywhere else.

Rude staff! First time at this store. I wanted to give my dog a bath and there was a line. The line was fine but in waiting saw a sign that said to notify staff if giving dog a bath. Upon notifying staff I received rude comment and tone. We were told baths sanitized between customers fine. Went to notify staff after customer done so it could be sanitized received comment with rude tone before even saying anything. After sanitized no towels as staff was leaving bathing area I said we would need two towels and received rude response with rude tone. Upon leaving felt that I needed to talk to other employee at cash register concerning rudeness and was treated again rudely. My experience here was unwelcoming.

Wonderful Knowledgeable Helpful owner & staff. They take time to listen to you, ask questions to make sure they understand, then walk you thru items that they recommend and why they suggest the item. I have been struggling for years trying figure why my dog was always itching. Friends said yo go there because owner had helped them with their 2 dogs. They were right! My dog stopped itching after 1 week. You won't get the personal attention that Ashland Pet Store provides at one of those big box stores. Let's keep supporting gems like this so they don't disappear...

Great product selection here and many helpful services, such as the pet washing station. It's a well-run, well-organized store with a pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Prices are competitive and reasonable.

Local owner just opened beginning of Jan 2021. Still getting product in stock and organized. Great location and supports local rescue organizations. Easy location to get in and out of. Great that Ashland retains a pet store with the recent closing of a corporate chain!!

Jen and was so helpful when my furbaby all the sudden had food allergies! I was a basket case because one morning her eyes was swollen and had hives everywhere! Jen calmed me down and so was so helpful with the ingredient eliminating process!! Ty Jen! You are amazing and ty for loving animals as much as I do!!

I would really recommend not coming here. I went to look at guinea pigs and one of them had a huge mass on the left side of its neck. Then when I asked about it the person working there didn’t seem concerned and didn’t even know about it. I suggested a vet check. The clerk gave no response. This shows how little pet stores actually care about there animals!

The customer service at this location was a absolute joke. The lady's working there were very rude and didnt seem people friendly at all .My wife and children stood around for 10 minutes getting dirty looks and very uncomfortable vibes. It was almost as if they didnt want us in there and seemed like they wanted us to leave and didnt want our buissness. We were very uncomfortable and wont ever go back they made our 3 year old daughters first time at a oetbstore miserable.
