By far the best vet clinic I've ever taken my pets to. My fat cat ate a bunch of my dogs medicine and the staff here helped me save his life! He's doing great now (although a bit grumpy with the medicine he has to take). The reception staff was warm and welcoming. I'll never forget how the lady named Dawn was so kind and caring to me in my troubling time like a modern day Mother Teresa. Truly the best place to go if you love your animals.

Brought in my Bernese Mountain dog who had been limping for a few days. All of the staff was very helpful and communicated everything clearly. Dr. Rios was so nice and really took the time to diagnose what was going on. Gave me meds and supplements for my BMD and she is doing so much better! I highly recommend Amherst Animal Hospital and look forward to bringing my girl back in for routine checkups.

After reading review and seeing the responces. I will NEVER bring a pet here and i suggest you DON'T either. They love to BELITTLE people and act like they are perfect ANGELS treated pets. The only ANGEL they resemble is LUCIFER! How do you like the CAPITALS LETTERS!!!

Used boarding services for our two dogs, got charged FOR 3 days after having them here for TWO. We picked them up at 10:15am, and apparently 15 minutes warrants charges for another whole day. (We were never advised of this at drop off.) It also isn’t mentioned anywhere on the paper we took home after drop off. Instead of making it right, and giving us the one time courtesy as new customers, they chose to lose all of our future business over 15 minutes. Hope it was worth the 40 bucks ✌️

This place is the worst ..I took my 12 year old dog there cuz he wasnt feeling well and was limping they took a urinalysis and bloodwork and said he was old and had arthritis and that his lab work and urine test was all normal then he died in 2 weeks ..I hate this place and would not recommend it to noone I lost my best friend cuz the pregnant vet did not really even want to touch him she was very rude and mean and agitated the other girls loved my dog and didn't even want him to leave..they need to be shut down because this is not the first time they have done things like this there are several people I have spoke to that said they have lost their dog the same way..please save your best friend and do not go tothis place ...please

This place has gone so far downhill since Dr. Mark retired it's truly astonishing. First he was replaced by Dr. Rios who was an absolute monster (2 separate occasions- one she argued with me about the medicine dosage I'd been giving my dog for 7 YEARS & the other time she literally walked out of the room when I didn't agree with her)... but she's gone now so I thought it was worth another shot- and boy was I wrong. Just called to get my sick dog seen and after almost 5 minutes on hold I'm told they now have an increased fee for "same day urgent care" visits. What an absolute scam! If you have an open appointment slot, how are you going to price gouge someone just because we couldn't call ahead a day ahead because YOU WERE CLOSED?? Honestly the most awful veterinary business I've ever encountered.

Our dog had a bacteria infection, prescribed antibiotics. Vet did not provide take home info except receipt of bill and prescription. Dog scale was off, they had to put a 6lb bag of dog food on scale, and then believed when we said it was off.

Thiis place juge people... im to old to be fool im hispanic ., took my dog there , explaining what was wrong with it and they not even have the decency of looking at her..! Not even blood work.., they said will be done ..!they talk to me like i was a"beggar" feeling sorry for me .for dog treatment..! Not recommend this place what so ever ..! I shut bring my dog in my dam nissan GTR ,, and not in my huptie winter car .may they will at least look at her , they are the exact people that juge the book by the cover..! Pretty sure they thought i was in some way in wellfeare... and have no $$ to cover my dog illness, the have the ball" to offer me a credit card to cover my dog treatment that no even done..!they don't have real Vet there ..! They are just students learning to deal with animals .and maybe a vet that doesn't want to deal with pets anymore Once they see a real emergency or a real problem they go "shu..shu..go to North Ridge animal clinic we don't have the "knowledge to deal with that .!

Very reasonable and upfront pricing. They are very good with my animals. I have gotten many of my friends and family members to switch to this vet. They are very thorough and upfront about thing. My pups all loved them too.

They were really amazing my fur baby was seen and diagnosed within minutes, we got her medications and she was noticably better within days of our appointment. Everyone is super nice and professional.

Took my dog here to get a fecal exam because my normal vet wasn’t available for a couple days. My dog was taken in the back room out of sight (which makes no sense and anything that needed to be done could have been done in the room with us) and they wouldn’t let us be with him to make it any less stressful and wouldn’t give any details about what was being done in the back and after asking was told “he’ll be fine” then right away I hear crying and yelping then all of a sudden it went quiet. I eventually had a enough and didn’t feel comfortable with the situation so I went back and said I want to take him to my normal vet and they told me they put a muzzle on him and when he was leaving it sounded like they were unstrapping him and I see one of the workers walk away from him with a IV bag and the vet says to not give him anything which he never should have been getting anything in the first place and I was never asked if they could give him anything and was also told that no matter what even if they couldn’t diagnose anything that he would be sent him home with antibiotics.10/10 would not recommend seems very shady and my dog is traumatizedUpdate- after the response from the place I see is all incorrect My dog is very socialized and is happy to meet anyone around him (greeted the vet tech with lots of licks) and I was never informed of anything that was happening to him and I never approved of any treatment because there was never a diagnosis. They never Informed me of what was happening and I found out about the muzzle after I had enough and walked out to where they were and I was told they did it to “calm him down” and they said they had it on him for a short amount of time and that he calmed down after Do not trust this place they lie and keep everything from you and good thing I caught them before they gave my dog anything without my permission

First red flag was the blame shifting on all of the reviews that aren't glowing. Go read the responses. You'll see.It was easy enough to make an appointment for my two dogs. I'm new in town. I have a special needs dog and I requested a blood test. The results came back late last week with minor abnormalities and I had to call them Tuesday to get the results of said test. Front desk was nonchalant about not producing the results in a timely fashion and it was only the vet who was apologetic or took any responsibility.I went in to drop off vet records and get flea treatment (for some weird reason my dogs miraculously developed fleas, not even going to suggest from where to avoid blame shifting on that one) the day after my appointment and the front desk ladies were curt, at best.I am sure they do good for some people, but I would not recommend this particular facility. The actual vet is great. I have been as polite as I possibly can be in this review.

You call make an appointment with SIT MEANS SIT and then call and cancel it but, they don't cancel your appointment with the VET side (like she said she did) so you get charged a no show fee. Never in my life will I recommend either of these places!!!So, now you are saying that I did not contact them? Then how is it I did not end up boarding my dogs there? (How did I cancel that?) VIA EMAIL on March 8th 2023 8:45am if you would like a copy of the email, I would be happy to forward it to you! But, to call me a liar is unacceptable as I paid your cancellation fee so what am I getting out of it NOTHING except letting people know what to expect from your business. Which you just showed for yourself! Have a great day!

This place is the worst place to take your dog I fully do NOT recommend this place !! My mother arrived here in really a bad place because her husky puppy was super ill , they refused to help her or even treat the dog my mom calls me crying just by the way they treated her especially in a time where she is sad for her puppy, she stated they threw her out the hospital because she didn’t have the full fee & asked if possibly could be billed For the rest . I called to figure out what really happened and spoke to someone called ANGIE and was truly the nastiest person ever no customer service no type of customer care what’s so ever she was so rude. In a case where a customer comes in any type of facility it is only right to treat people with kindness and care because you never know what people are going through & just try to help the customer in any way they can. They did the total opposite of that. It’s clearly sad to say there are evil people in this worldHorrible place horrible staff !!!!!

Dr. Rios and the technicians were very helpful and kind. Very good with my cats. The manager however was quite condescending and rude when when I explained my payment situation. And I do not appreciate being spoken to like I am stupid.

I have been taking my cat here for at least the past 2 years, if not longer. For a little over a year my cat has had to come in once a month for shots to keep her stable and subside the pain that she has. The staff has been nothing but wonderful and always ask me how my cat is doing to see if we need to update her treatment plan. They aren’t just doing their job when they are asking as you can tell they genuinely care. My work schedule is always all over the place and they do an amazing job at always squeezing me in! Dr. Rijos is very caring and attentive and I will continue to take both of my cats and all future animals to her. I highly recommend this place if you care about your fur babies!

Started taking my Senior cat here because she’s having some Health issues, Dr. Kristin and her staff are great! They ran some tests and diagnosed her in a day! The other place I was going to didn’t find the issue and Dr. Kristin did!! And they prescribed her a medication and are working on curing my fur baby! Highly recommend Amherst Animal hospital

I explained my situation of moving from Virginia to Ohio and I was on 100% federal disability and needed a veterinarian clinic that also does grooming because my dogs needed it badly and the person I spoke with on the phone set the appointment and because of the move I couldn't make the appointment so I called the very next day because the day of the appointment my ride had an emergency and I couldn't make it. I called to reschedule the very next day and the lady I spoke with said because I didn't call I was going to have to pay for the prior appointment that I couldn't make she insisted I was told I would be charged if I did not call and cancel. So now I am being billed for over $100 for an appointment that never happened. The whole time I have ever gone to a veterinary I have never ever been charged like this I think it is ridiculous how I have been treated by the lady that answered and insisted I was told something I wasn't to the bill that continually comes to my mailbox. VERY DISAPPOINTED with their services and I didn't even go. Disabled people like myself are continually treated unjustly and this is a prime example. It would be different if I didn't call at all how I called and even apologized for missing the appointment and wanted to reschedule and couldn't. They were the closest ones to my residence so I chose them to save money from the fixed income I have every month.

I have been taking my elderly cat here for checkups, thyroid, kidney and blood pressure problems that my old vet failed to diagnose. Amherst Animal is doing a great job and I love how knowledgeable the vets are. Super friendly staff too!

Best vet I've ever been to. I've moved 4 times last couple years and they're my favorite vet. Always kind and professional, and the vets explain things in a scientific manner so I understand what's actually going on with my pets. I never feel like I'm just another number. Kindness goes a long way when being a customer, and as someone who's been in customer service and in the animal care industry, it is especially hard right now. If you treat workers with kindness, you'll be more likely to have an even better experience. Im only upset that i had to lose them from moving out of state! I have had great experiences with both of my cats. We have a senior cat whos health was declining, the team was able to assist and identify the issue and get her back on track. The staff calls to follow up on how the pet is doing. Pricing is appropriate and does not appear to be overpriced compared to others. We are happy to have found Amherst Animal Hospital to care for our pets!
