Huge shoutout to Amelia Petco Grooming! I had the best experience and just needed to share! So petco has a rewards program where if you take your dog for so many visits you’ll get the 8th groom free! Well my rewards app hasn’t been working since I’ve downloaded it and I just gave up on trying to get it to work. Well today their manager asked me if I had the rewards app and I explained how the app would not let me use it, and she went above and beyond for me! She called customer service and told them about the situation and then she counted how many visits I’ve had for Gus and today would have been my free grooming so despite my rewards app not working, she gave me Gus’s grooming for free and she also gave us a $10 credit. Also not only did the grooming manager go above and beyond but Gus’s groomer did as well, she took such great care of Gus and even added on an extra service without the charge. I’m beyond grateful that these girls took such great care of my fur baby and also me! So if you need an awesome groomer go to Petco in Amelia, they are the best!!

Very clean inside the store. Super helpful with customers. Lots of variety of toy's, and food. I also played with some small kittens that were being kept for adoption at that same location. The areas were very clean, and the kittens were being cared for by them as well. Super nice lady! Very caring for the animals in that store. My friend also brought a small domestic snake to the pet store, and after inspection, they took the snake for adoption... we had a great time looking at the little pets for adoption... they kept the cages very clean.

It's okay. Good selection of food and treats but staff could be better. When I check out they never bag my stuff which i find odd. There is always stock sitting everywhere waiting to be put up and its always in the way of seeing the toy selection.

Most of the time the Amelia store has friendly, very helpful employees but there is a few very poor customer service skills, rude in a hurry there is a couple of girls that make you feel like you’re bothering them every time they go in like it’s not their job. The obedience classes are wonderful.

3 times in. Everytime it's been a Very Slow process getting fish and only 1 cashier. The worst part is the employees are more focused on tasks vs customer service. We are never coming back here again. I will go anywhere but here. Eastgate, Northern KY, or literally anywhere!

Person who claimed they were the “aquatics department manager” really needs anger management therapy and a career change. Went in to buy some Cory catfish, the tanks there already look neglected, dirty, and piles of dead fish floating around. Sorta like what a Walmart fish department used to look like. The employee kept getting more frustrated as the fish weren’t happily swimming into the net. Kept trying to catch them by smacking them against the glass and mentioning how they “deserved” to be smacked against the glass because of how frustrated she was. She didn’t even realize she pulled one out of the tank with the net until she squeezed the net and realized she had one just laying in the net. Needless to say she put that one back into the tank and that one just sank to the bottom. I finally told her I didn’t want her to attempt to catch the rest of what I asked for because I wasn’t even sure if the ones she already had out would make it. Came home to notice one had been smashed pretty badly and whiskers ripped off, along with a bruised face. Obviously several of the ones I got didn’t make it. In the several years I’ve had fish, I’ve never had someone be so angry attempting to catch fish. Maybe they wouldn’t be so hard to catch if they weren’t full of dead fish, and dead plants but that’s just my thought.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your store tonight. My son has diligently cared for his two goldfish, and we visited with the intention of adding two glow-in-the-dark fish to his tank, seeking advice from your assistant general manager.Despite providing details about our tank size and goldfish conditions, the assistant general manager abruptly decided not to sell us the fish, citing concerns about potential issues. When I requested to speak with the general manager, there was a dismissive attitude, and despite her kindness, she supported the decision without considering our situation.This experience was disheartening as we were there to reward my son. Additionally, my request for corporate contact resulted in receiving the wrong number. As a loyal customer who purchases supplies for dogs, a snake, and other fish, it is disconcerting to encounter untrained staff making decisions based on assumptions.It’s crucial for businesses, especially during challenging economic times, to ensure their staff is trained and empathetic. Unfortunately, this encounter has left a negative impression on us, and I hope you address these concerns to maintain customer trust.

Apparently it was a clinic day, and I was looking at the animal sweaters ( keep in mind I’m wearing my work uniform ( scrubs) I know better to go near an animal or any kind of vaccine or needle I’m not in handle of. One of your vet techs or groomers- turned around and snapped at me “ excuse me mam, it’s clinic day” I replied with, “ okay, I just am over here looking at the sweaters and vests.”She raised her voice louder, and then made a face about me when she looked back to the folks she was helping- I was humiliated and I literally did nothing wrong.The lady who helped me do my pick up, I explained the situation to her and she came off as friendly- but you could tell by her demeanor she didn’t care about my complaint.Also, the cat sweater I DID buy I couldn’t even use for my cat because the arm holes are different sizes and he couldn’t walk properly in it. Clearanced- not returnable.Only reason I chose three for returning is because my allergy cat can only eat your brand of cat food.Only reason I’ll be back.

The past two times I've been here is like no employee works here. The pictures are from a previous visit but it's not the first time I've seen it this way. Considering my father is disabled and has a service dog traversing these aisles let alone trying to get products became virtually impossible. Also bought 2 dog toys here 1 of them a $18 GIANT 1 and both in under 5 minutes of giving them to my dog they had rips/tears in them. No he didn't pull out tug on them

Highly recommend their grooming services! Jayden does an excellent job with my two doodles(I prefer them cut short) and the price is very reasonable considering their size/coat they have. Thanks for getting my pups cleaned up for the holidays!

This Petco is by far one of the worst I’ve seen when it comes to stocking insects. It’s October and they have jars of Fruit Flys from the beginning part of August. Meal worms are rarely ever in stock. They swear up and down that they get shipments ever Tuesday. I know that this is a bold face lie to please the customer and try to bring them back. The only thing they really keep up is crickets.There is only one or two employees that are really knowledgeable about animals. The rest of them only have a very limited knowledge of a few types of animals, but try to pass themselves as expert and give advice.

Petco, I love your nail trimming and buff service. You're the only place that can do it without my dog freaking out. However, it's not a service I can book online. I have tried at least 6 times to get in and your groomers are either closed (5pm on Fridays!) or I can't get in bc the groomers can't get to the front or answer the phone because they are busy grooming. Something needs tweaking or else people like me are going to be forced to go elsewhere.

A lot of treats were out of stock. A lot of flea medication for dogs was completely out of stock. And by doing some quick google searching after I left I found a lot of products were over priced that I was looking for. Weirdly enough the website showed the product I bought (pet armor flea drops) 8 dollars cheaper than what I paid in store. I’m sure this means TONS of the products in the store are like that.

My 5 star review is for the staff. They’re super kind. Andy has been extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. We recently purchased a bearded dragon and as waiting to get a Betta fish and Andy taught us so much the internet failed to. It’s so nice to speak to someone with experience and patience as we asked so many questions! Thanks again!

I have a VERY BIG problem with their idea of reptile care....Putting that aside, I have been back 4 times over 3 weeks looking for the same supplies, live shrimp, and live fish. They keep saying they will be there the following Monday, but it never seems to happen. Not sure if it is their fault or a supplier issue etc. . But nevertheless, it's extremely frustrating that I can't count on a multi billion dollar pet store and supply shop to have what I need....
