My daughter bought a Boston terrier puppy in May from RJ’s - he had Gardia - we treated with 2 rounds of antibiotics & also our Boston at home with a round of antibiotics after he contracted it. This can be expected when getting a puppy from a pet store.Stopped in there today to look and they had Boston terrier puppies (my older Boston passed away recently from cushings). We live 2 hours away - I asked if I could hold one. They said “only if you are serious” I said yes & told them my daughter previously purchased a Boston from here & that my older dog had recently passed. They then said only the female was for sale - they weren’t clear why the males weren’t for sale yet but we could put our name on a list and refused to let us hold them.We left - not a great experience unfortunately but I know better to only purchase from a reputable breeder or shelter - my bad.

If I could rate it negative stars I would. The animals here are always sick. I got a kitten for 100 dollars, they were rude and said negative things about the animals especially because the kittens were smelly because they knew they were sick. The workers were not proffessional. This kitten had bloody dairreah and looked starved to death. They don't take proper care of them, for the diarrea I thought maybe he's allergic to the food. Brought him home, had him two days and the kittens diarrea got worse, he started wobbling and shaking after just two days and uncontrollably biting and couldn't stand up. I watched this kitten suffer for a day straight as his body was unable to move and he died. I have 3 other cats, my male cat now has the same diarrea as the kitten and we have to do testing to figure out what it is bet you the other kittens they sold will all have the same too since they keep them in a tiny cage. If my other 3 cats die I'm going to have serious issues. This places needs to be SHUT DOWN!

Got a ferret from there not because I wanted one but because he looked so sick. I ended up being right. My vet had many words to say about this place, none of which were good it’s nothing against the workers they’re just doing they’re jobs but one thing they do need to work on is they’re knowledge they never have answers to my questions and never seem sure abt animals backgrounds or facts on them. I don’t own the ferret as I was just keeping him to get him back to health and he’s at a great home now. I have recently found out I’m on the do not sell to list which I have no clue why I’ve only been there to buy from them once been there other then that to look around so not sure how I made that list but I’m fine with it as I wouldn’t ever go back to such a filthy environment for an animal. I just feel bad for the animals that go through that as I’m not the first and probably won’t be the last with this experience.

Zero stars:We went to R Js world of pets in Minot ND. on July 24, 2022. We walked in the door and my husband saw the “german Shepard” puppies. He was so excited, that has been his dream dog forever. He asked the worker if they had pictures of the parents. The worker did not know but said the owner would be in the next day. We visited both pups. We went in the next day. There were two different workers, neither was the owner. My husband asked them about the parents and they told my husband they had seen pictures of the mom and dad, also mentioned that they had received puppies from this breeder in the past. They reassured us that they were pure bred Shepards, they were just not papered. So after thinking about it and feeling comfortable with the information provided to us about the puppies and breeder; we bought the last puppy for $550 on July 25, 2022. On August 3rd, 2022, the owner of R Js pet supply calls my husband. She stated that she had just found out that the puppies are not pure bred. She proceeded to give us the option to bring the puppy back for a full refund or keep the puppy and get $100 back. We had already had this puppy a little over a week, had almost completely potty trained him, and fell in love with him. Yet here was the owner telling us to return him for a full refund on something that was their mistake, we can't just return him. Not to mention we already spent around $400 on toys, bed, etc. and we live two hours away. I called back because I think $500 is too much for a mixed breed puppy and feel she should give us half our money back, not just $100. She says, well that's what I would have sold them for. Hard to believe a pure bred is $550, and a mix is $450. She says just bring him back for a full refund. Of course, we did not bring him back how cruel would that be. Returning him would have created abandonment issues and separation anxiety. We love this puppy regardless of him being purebred or not, however my husband will now never be able to have his dream dog because these people lied to us. The owner/store cannot even begin to tell us what he is mixed with. We bought from this store because we thought she used reputable breeders but learned the hard way that she uses backyard breeders. These puppies NEVER should have been advertised as “Purebred” without beings 1000%% sure. False advertisement, lies from employees, and a completely unprofessional way to handle this situation. This was a complete scam that was thought out from the beginning. Be careful buying a puppy from here.

I bought my little girl from this place. She is perfectly healthy and happy. I have only had great experiences at this store. Everyone was perfectly nice and helpful. I read a lot of bad reviews before I went in, so I was pretty apprehensive. When I walked in the dog kennels were all clean and neat. They had their dogs running in the back, so they weren’t in the kennels all day. All the animals looked clean and happy. My Chow Chow is from there and she was well taken care of while she was there and still loves to come back and visit the workers. I also got my two hedgehogs from there. They are perfectly healthy and happy. I got hamsters from there yesterday and they are perfectly fine. All my friends and family shop there and all their animals are amazing. I took my time to write this long review, so people don’t believe all the bad things people are saying. I am a regular customer and every time I come in the animals are clean and happy. Please don’t believe everything you read on social media. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at least have all the facts before you trash someone or their business.

Horrible place, got a dog not because I wanted to buy a dog but because of how sick he was and then immediately brought it to the emergency vet glad I got the dog wish they would have taken care of it and yes the dog was sick and yes I made them pay the medical bills. He's healthy now

I got a Corgi puppy from R & J's and within the first hour of me having her I began to notice she was sick. I took her to the vet and now she has to stay there for several days. I asked them to pay for the emergency medical costs since it was their fault, since they sold me a puppy they clearly knew was sick. I have never received worse customer service than at R & J's. The owner was demeaning and condescending and tried to blame the poor health of the corgi on my "lack of ability to care for her." They tried to get me to take her away from the vet and leave her at the store for care instead. Now last time I checked, part time employees and high school students do not have vet training and cannot properly care for a sick animal. She would have most certainly not made it. Instead of just owning up to part in the problem they tried to weasel out of it by offering to buy back the puppy, and then resell it to me "if" she made it after taking care of her at their store. If you want a puppy that is guaranteed to be healthy and properly cared for, DO NOT buy them here. You will not receive good service and the owner clearly has no care for her animals as she just sends them home without proper examinations. I would give them 0 stars if I could. PS there was a comment by the owner that suggested this happened more than once. And also they heavily violated their policy on the sale.

People are great ,service always good and if she don't have a animal that you are looking for she will try to get them in for you . Animals are well taken care of and fish always great choices that they have . If you need toys or leashes or any thing really you need for pet from cats to dogs to lizards to birds to fish and many more they have great selection of products. I recommend getting treats and toys from them .I am thankful for my visit I had will go back much appreciated .

My roommate recently bought a female corgi puppy from this store. She was sold sickly unbeknownst to him. Two days later she had such severe respiratory issues she could barely breathe. She had an emergency vet visit Sunday and hospitalized at the vet the day after and will be until the end of the week. The state of the puppy at sell violated their own policy. Rightfully my roommate wanted them to aid with vet bills. The owner of the store instead insulted him until she were backed into a legal corner. The store’s plan was to take the puppy back, refund the purchase, attempt to take care of it (through second-rate means rather than professionally) and wager it’s life in their care rather than deal with the extra costs. A comment of the owner suggested this is a reoccurring problem. If this store was even slightly sympathetic to his situation I would not be posting this. They have little regard about the well being of the animals in their care. I ask potential buyers and breeders to stay clear of this place.

Very knowledgeable staff and customer service is also excellent. The store is very well maintained and so are the animals that they keep. First impressions are key and we were greated immediately. Where given clear and direct information pertaining to what we were looking for and directed to other solutions for what they couldn't provide. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Just stopped to check this place out. Big store with a decent selection. Not a clean place though. Lots of the fish are dead and just sucked up into the filters of multiple tanks. I personally wouldn’t buy any pet from here for fear that none would survive without lots of vet care. Just my opinion.

History with this place goes back 3 years. 1st dog I bought from there was sick with parasites and had constant diarrhea. Fast forward to now... I went to purchase a puppy and saw him throw up in his cage. When I mentioned it to them they said they could not sell me the dog nor hold it for me and that it must see the vet before it can be sold to anyone! Come to find out they ended up selling that samedog to a friend of mine less than an hour later! When I called to confront the manager about it he said “what do you want me to say?” This place has less than friendly staff and they always look fresh out of bed! Good luck with them! I won’t be fooled a 3rd time!

Guy wasn’t rude, because you would have to talk to be rude. That is by far and away the least of this stores problems. Multiple dogs in kennels on wire floor cages, poop in their fur and just not a great way to keep puppies. Not if you care, which it’s hard to believe they do. There are full food bowls in cages for dogs, any good dog owner knows that you can’t give a dog unlimited access to food. If you buy here, you’re honestly supporting animal cruelty. When you see this many poor reviews calling out the same thing over and over for the past two years, it’s a trend and not an opinion. North Dakota is a great state and there should more laws to stop places like this from existing. If these people ran a grocery store it would be rotten and old. If they ran a car lot, the cars would be breaking down. We wouldn’t do business with people like that and we wouldn’t want them in our communities. Is this really how we expect our furry friends to start their lives?

Variety of animals and all the things you need to take care of them. The owner, Rhonda, is great. The manager, Karen, doesn't live up to her name, and that's a great thing. Staff is knowledgeable.

I'm not educated enough to say anything about the care of their animals, I haven't noticed if it's bad or good. But I'm extremely uncomfortable every time I'm in there. I've been in about three times while we were setting up our new aquarium and the employees are rude. They have a better fish selection over Pet Parade but PP's fish are in way cleaner tanks. Pet Parade is also WAY nicer when it comes to the employees. This isn't necessarily a complete criticism but they have obnoxious signs posted everywhere. Don't touch this, don't tap that, keep your kids away from this. Most of it is common sense but even slightly attentive employees would also work much better.

Don’t buy a pet from them. The copy of our dogs vaccination record we received from them is illegible. It looks like it was copied and faxed too many times. I called today to see if I could get a better copy of it or find out what vet gave the vaccinations so I could call them to get a copy. The first gal seemed confused and like she had no idea what I was talking about. Another woman took over the call and seemed very agitated and upset with me. I just wanted a copy or a phone number, not sure why that made her angry with me. She barked at me that if I wanted my pets vaccination record I should call my vet. So I reminder her that he got some of his vaccinations before we bought him and I needed a copy of those records. She told me he probably got them from the breeder or the broker. I asked if they have contact info for either of them. She told me they have no contact info for the broker or breeder that they got him from... I’m sorry, what?!?! You don’t have contact info for the people you got the dog from?! How is that possible? There seems to be something very sketchy going on here and they seem to be trying to hide something. Don’t buy from them. Run the opposite direction.

I had a great experience with this pet store. From my experience the animals waiting to be sold are loved. Workers are very patient and knowledgeable. I've bought several pets from here and the workers helped me pick the right pet for me and my family.

Worst pet store ever, I will never go inside again.I've been there a few times and bought just small pet supplies. I just went this last Sunday 12-9-18 and got some aquarium supplies, so after my boyfriend and I decided to just walk by the dogs. Lots of the dogs were playing and rolling around, these two in one kennel were getting rough but still just playing. There’s a red sign by the kennels asking people not to tap or knock on the glass. This one employee came up and punched the glass so hard I jumped. I wanted to get out of there so we went to the checkout counter and the same employee hade a sprite, dairy queen ice cream, and a hot dog on the counter where you set your merchandise to purchase. It was not in a container either, just out like it was a table for her.She wore a yellow t-shirt and navy sweatpants. No name tag nor uniform and I was questioning whether she worked there or not. When cashing out if you pay with a card they take that and ask for ID. They write down your license number while they also have your credit card and turn away every time. I've never been in a business that does that and it made me very worried that because she could just write down my credit card number instead.A few weeks prior, similar things happened. The manager I believed it was.. was not in a uniform either and had gotten a call on the landline phone. She was on the phone for minutes because someone had called in as she was cashing us out. So, we stood there while she was on the phone. She then yelled to an employee saying that someone called in again while the other employee was halfway across the store. She then complained to my boyfriend and I, acting all irritated. This place does not care about customer service, about their animals, about looking/acting professional, and more. They don’t say hi when you walk in or ask if you need help. I’m definitely never going inside again and if you don’t like businesses like this I wouldn’t if I were you!

My family and I have been looking for a dog for awhile now. We went into their store and were greeted with a "hello". After looking at all of the puppies we left. I did see a puppy that I wanted and I wanted to research the breed as it was mixed. We went back later that same day and looked at the puppy again. While we were there another customer asked if he could see one of the dogs and the response was, "no we dont allow that unless you are purchasing them." His response was that he had cash and the lady then responded, oh okay. How do you know if the puppy will be a good fit with you and your family if this isnt allowed? We left again and went back one last time to get the puppy I wanted. They stayed late so I could get him and I was so thankful! When I finally got him in my arms I realized that he stunk really bad but I wasnt too concerned. He made a weird noise and she said that was from the vaccination he just received and that if it lasted for more than 3 days to contact the vet. Me being too excited I didnt think anything of it. The next few days he continued to cough but it was getting really bad. I talked with my coworkers and they said that it wasnt normal so we got him into the vet asap. The vet stated that he had bronchial type symptoms with a possible bacterial infection and put him on medicine for 14 days. My point is, when you purchase a new puppy you expect them to be healthy and not have to take them to the vet within the first few days of having them. It truly is sad that this is happening. I'm glad I found our little Obi and were able to rescue him!

If I could give this store a 0 I would. After reading the reviews I decided to give this store a chance anyways but it's clear that was a huge mistake! The guy working was very rude and being judgemental. All your cats look sick and your baby hedgehogs we're being improperly handled. If you're trying to run a successful business I would recheck your employees and animals.

Worst customer service! I have worked in customer service for years an the staff Molly an manager Tim had the worst attitudes ever when I was asking about their puppy's. Molly continued to have an attitude; an when I asked to speak with a manager Tim he was very rude as well. There dogs look very crowded an half of them are sick. Poor babies. Honestly though Molly needs to find another job; so disrespectful!

STAY AWAY! STAY FAR AWAY... please do not buy pets from this place. We recently purchased a French bulldog from them and have spent over $1,500 in vet bills. We are still battling illness with this puppy. UPDATE! We have now spent well over $2,000 in medicine and vet visits. Unfortunately our 9 month old puppy will either have to be put down or go to a new home. RJ world of pets is sickening and an embarrassment to the pet world.

Wouldn't recommend getting a dog from here, service wasn't great and they were all rude. They told me my dog was a Shih Tzu and everywhere I've been has told me she is not. I knew it was sketchy because before buying her they said they had papers but when I bought her they said they couldn't give them to me. I paid a hefty price, and she had a bladder infection and kennel cough when I brought her to her first vet appointment. I needed a hypoallergenic dog because of severe allergies (why I went with a Shih Tzu)... I still love her to death and couldn't imagine giving her to anyone but if I paid full breed price...

The reason why I give R&J World of Pets five stars is because I got the most adorable 2 Shih Tzus there and Maltese last summer and as a very reasonable price . they are the love of my life they are healthy beautiful pets AKC registered and give me so much joy every day. Thank you World of Pets for that. the staff have always been very nice

Not a horrid store, however I was turned away with how the disrespect the staff is and how they treat customers. On the flip side, the owner of this location is very nice. They also are very good to their fish. I remember going into their store one day after they had forgotten to lock their doors and rather then being courteous and explaining they were closed I was treated with distain and told they were closed. Prices at this location are also an issue, they seen outlandishly high for the product that they are selling in most cases.
