If you're looking for the very simple, this place will do it. However, if you're used to/wanting a more conventional hotel, this might not be your spot. The only units that come equipped with a fridge are the family units. The single rooms are small, but totally fine for quick stays and cover the basics. The location is excellent. Located just outside the downtown area, a quick, 5 minute drive gets you to where all the action is. Add that to being nearly right at the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and it's in a great location.Overall, it was a fine stay, and my partner and I didn't need anything fancy. It would have been nice if the rooms weren't so small and came with a mini fridge to hold our cool stuff, but we made do with a cooler (ice machine in the lobby sufficed!). A smidge pricey for the size, but we were traveling on a holiday, so it was somewhat expected.Nearby activities: Only 5ish minutes from the main entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the downtown area.

Nice personnel, clean place, good price. Cheaply built in a style that resembles army barracks. Walls are paper thin and we listened to the conversations of our neighbors, to their TV set, and their smoker's cough for quite a while. Every time someone banged on the exit door we jumped. And of course the ever-loved in America PTAC (heat/cool unit under) the window was present in all its glory (and excessive noise levels). So the choice is - either heat and no tractor-like noise in the room, or cooler room with no possibility to rest.

Room is clean, "new", grounds are well laid out. The draw back to the rooms is that they are small yet adequate for our 3 night stay. Also, the walls are very thin. We could hear not only our neighbors' phone calls and TV, but also the rooms 3 doors down the hall. Also, when the hall door to the outside would close, it was very loud and would shake the walls. If we come back to Medora, we might stay there again.

Great place to take pets. Rooms were humble but very clean and comfortable. Not too bad of a walk across the tracks to "downtown". Outdoor pool didn't seem heated, and was rather chilly even in late June. No hottub (it's a kiddie pool). Walls are a bit thin but typical for a lot of hotels. Area is quiet and on the edge of town. Nice grass area for dogs. There's a small amount of room for trailers, but it's not dedicated or large.

Best place we stayed in for a long time. So clean. New. Beautiful furniture. Pool. Hammocks. Beautiful hills in the back, save for a few terribly placed houses, but that can't be helped. The people at the front desk were so accommodating. They helped us get into a bigger room after the website said their was only a single bed. So helpful. They know what they are doing. I wish it was more of a motel style rather than having to walk down a corridor, but that is just how they decided to do it. I loved our stay. The family room was so spacious. Huge, clear TV.

We had a family room that contained 1 queen, and a full/twin bunk bed which fit my family nicely and it wasn’t terribly priced. The pool was nice and clean. That being said, our room had an OVERWHELMING cat urine smell. The room itself wasn’t dirty, but the smell made it feel that way. I could hear the neighbors snoring and showering. The beds were pretty hard but some people prefer that. I would compare the setup to a FEMA trailer, very poor quality. I wouldn’t stay there again, but I have definitely stayed at worse.

The room was very nice and clean. It was nicer than I expected. However, I asked for a quiet area. We were assigned a room with young, partying, seasonal workers in our wing. They were still having a good old time at 3am. Not cool or funny front desk clerks!

The queen room was very comfortable and clean though small. It almost felt like the cabin on a ship. The bathroom was a nice size. Only a shower though. Front desk workers were very sweet. It's a good deal.

Rooms are small with little to no amenities, but thats okay. We were traveling with pets and our intent was not to be in the room the whole stay.We stayed in what we called "Kennel Row". Yes, you hear people coming in and out and dogs barking down the hall, but I'm a Dog person, so I didn't mind.Convenient location, Pet Friendly, Clean (albeit small rooms) nice grassy areas to walk your furry friends.

Very cozy, neat set up! Staff was personable. Rooms and grounds were impeccably clean. Our room had a living area, a queen bed, and a twin over queen bunk bed. Plenty of towels for in room and pool towels at the outdoor pool (we usually need to ask for extras when we stay at hotels).Such a great area!

Nice and clean rooms. The knotty pine furniture was very nice. Room felt a bit small but was big enough for our family with 3 kids under 10. Not sure on price for value as the wife payed for it as it was a spur of the moment trip. The view was nice of the hills from the parking lot. Would stay here again and recommend. Also no breakfast provided that I'm aware of so have to hit up a local spot.

We really enjoyed our stay here. While we found our single room to be quite "cozy", our family that was in a family room had much more space that we could hang out in. A fridge in the smaller rooms would be nice but I understand there just isn't much extra space. Also, an outdoor gathering space would be a nice addition and I think there was one under construction when we were there. We'd stay here again.

Great, reasonably priced place to stay while you visit the town of Medora. Pet friendly, so your furry friends can come with! We have stayed here a few times on our trips and keep coming back. The place is clean and cozy. The only thing I would ask is for a mini fridge in the rooms.

I looked online, they had great reviews, prices were reasonable. As they say some rooms are small, but very adequate. I didn't go to Medora to sit in a room. Family rooms looked great for families. The pool was great and clean, as was everything else. Bed was great for us... stayed there again this week and everything was great n enjoyable...

The only good thing about this place was that it was relatively clean and had hot water. The checkout service was non existent, so we weren't clear on how to leave things, and the room itself had walls so thin, it was impossible to sleep. If you have neighbors of any kind, you'll be able to hear their every move. The bed was also very stiff and uncomfortable, and didn't provide much in terms of blankets or sheets. I definitely wish I had spent the extra money on the AmericInn next door.

At the last minute, our airbnb home was canceled and we were so fortunate to find lodging in one of the family suites at Elkhorn Quarters. It had a queen, full bunk, and twin bunk. It's only been open a few years so bathrooms seemed nicely updated. The only trouble we had was shower not draining properly. Staying inside Medora has huge advantages and you can walk nearly everywhere. Front desk staff was incredibly helpful to help us book our pitchfork fondue and plan activities.

I got details on this place online. Having never before stayed here or to be honest, never even been to North Dakota either, I really didn't know what to expect. Let me tell you people, this place is awesome. Plenty of space, plenty of things to do here, in-ground pool, breakfast area, vending machines, quiet, clean rooms, some have microwave and fridges, bountiful parking, minutes from downtown Medora. Elkhorn Quarters is an oasis. All rooms have AC. My room was a single. Full size bed. Closet. Alarm clock. Free coffee. Full size private bathroom and shower. Colorfully decorated. Nice views. Plasma TV with cable. Only caveat is the walls are thin. But this place is safe, secure, quiet. Great if your main objective is to hike at nearby Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It's just down the street! The town of Medora is full of hidden gems. Friendly people offering a quiet respite from the daily grind. Plenty of bars, restaurants to eat and drink nearby. Elkhorn Quarters is a great place to stay and relax. In my opinion of course. Very reasonable price. I stayed there in July. Worth checking out.

I when to Medora his summer and had an awesome time there. The Hotel was pretty cool. they have a pool which is cool. The rooms are tiny and neat. Bathrooms were clean. The Only bad thing i have to say for this place is the TV(In my room). The TV was fading which made the screen look gray almost if you know what i mean. Other than that the place was really good!

Requested a small room for a single night, front desk reception made sure that's what I wanted because small meant SMALL. Kudos to the receptionist for checking with me before accepting the reservation! Despite the size, the room was clean and still had its own bathroom, full bed, tv, coffee maker etc. Desk staff was helpful and courteous.
