I would give full stars, our pup is amazing unfortunately he came with having worms in his stomach due to only getting one treatment he needed outta the 2. They do their best to keep the pups healthy we just got unlucky.

Very disorganized and no communication between workers. First dog I had in mind, doesn’t do well with cats (not disclosed in bio on website) same with 2nd choice. Boy have I struck out…not yet. 3rd dog, waited nearly 2 weeks to hear back on adoption, we were turned down as we have an Apt (which also does not state in any bio that that is a no go) We cannot help the fact the housing market collapse has been horrid the last few years EVERYWHERE. I just wanted to be able to rescue a pup + give her a loving, active, welcoming home. As far as I could see, there wasn’t any staff here enjoyable, much less who knew how to talk to people👎🏽

What an amazing experience... aside from the lady at the front desk who was a little crabby when we just dropped in. She turned over a new leaf and made us feel very welcomed when made our appointment time. she gave us all the information about everything and everyone there and those guys were so cute but she made us realize this is a B I G commitment and are we we're ready for it so we decided to volunteer and we would welcome anyone, CHALLENGE YOU to consider volunteering with us!!! These guys really need us!! so please consider volunteering at your local Humane Society!!!!Although we can't take Striker, who has to have shots every day, cuz I can't do that but we're going to consider two of the other HIGH RISK adoptees... if they will consider us!!! what a wonderful opportunity until we get approved for adoption, we're going to volunteer there and just see what we can do to contribute to the whole process and everybody there.... you guys need to look out and take a step and go to Central Dakota Humane Society you're missing out!!!

Adopted our dog here. The staff was always very kind and friendly. The process to adopt was long, but we'll worth it. We got a great dog that was used to us before we brought her home. It made the transition so much easier. It has been a week and she is already one of us.

The staff at Central Dakota Humane Society has been a steadfast, amazing, friendly and very dedicated group of people to deal with. It is not uncommon for our local animal rescue to not have available foster homes, adequate funds or interested adopters to care for the many dogs that we rescue in the Devils Lake and Spirit Lake Nation communities and beyond. CDHS has graciously accepted numerous dogs from TLC-ND Animal Rescue. We are always extremely grateful for their help and know that the dogs will have their every need met and will find great homes there. Together we save. ❤

I love these guys so much. If I had the money I would sponsor them. They have such big hearts. I love everything about them, I just wish they could have more funds. They deserve it, and so do all the wonderful, loving animals there. Please remember to adopt, don't shop for a new addition to your family. Go to here and give a one of these well deserving souls a second chance, or first in some cases. Love and respect to all the wonderful people working, volunteering, and donating to places like this one.

We were denied adoption because the staff didnt like us. they did not give us a valid reason as to why we were denied. the dog had no problems with us she almost jumped in the car. the staff was hardly around while we visited with her so i dont know how they would even be able to judge us if they were hardly around. i almost forgot to mention we drove 100 miles both ways twice to see her then they waited 2 weeks to tell us no. we live in a 1700sq/ft house with a garage we own the house we also have a carecredit card with a 10k limit so we could aford any medical isues that came up. so answer me this why are we not acceptable as her new owners why did they deny us? what did we do that made us so bad?

Wonderful & Fabulous Facility. ALL the People that Work & Or Volunteer Their Time to Care For Each & EVERY Animal That Crosses Thru Their Doors Are Saints & Hero's in MY Opinion. They Seem to Take On So Many Roles & They Seem to TRULY Take on Each Animals Story & Make it So Personal. Not Only Do They Help the Animals. They ALSO Help People. The ones that Want to Adopt& the ones that have No Other Choice but to hand over the animals for whatever Reason. This Place is INCREDIBLE & Bismarck/Mandan is So VERY Fortunate to Have These People & This Place Here in ND. May God Bless YOU ALL & EVERY Animal that Comes & Goes Thru your doors !

I have a female border collie. She needs a haircut, and bath. I call the central Dakota, to see if they know of a good company. They referred me to one. Then I asked them where they take there animal s they said they do them there. I have offered them money food for the pets there to give my dog a haircut cause I rather pay them... Guess what they said ???? We don't take help that way... I wanted to help them out cause they are all ways asking for help.....Now what ????

Seems you may have to know someone there to get the dog you want. Very frustrating to say the least. The director of the humane society is dismissive and has no patience. I felt she used us to get a born wild dog spayed, knowing the dog wouldn't have done well in my household. The humane society failed to let us know the dog was born wild as well. We found a dog finally for free on bisman. He has us now. If you find this review helpful or if you have a similar experience, please give this a thumbs up. Thanks

Awesome staff and they take care of the animals well. it only problem is I have been waiting on adopting a pet for 4 weeks now. First I had to have my roommate, landlord go and visit the dog. Now it's been a weight on the mobile home park manager to contact the humane society. So here I sit waiting to adopt this pet and I can't because of a technicality. I think they're a little overprotective when it comes to adopting a pet. there are way too many things that a person needs to prove to them to adopt a pet at your location. Just be ready to not be able to adopt. Very very very disappointed!!

Adopter beware! The dog I adopted has a serious heart condition and they did not inform me prior to adoption. The vet who spayed the dog prior to adoption noted that he made the humane society aware of the heart condition. Two years after the adoption the vet asks if I plan to start heart medication.The only reason they get two stars is because they were nice and the adoption process.

Everyone was so polite, informative, and answered all my questions to the best of their knowledge. I love the way they run their system and it is amazing how well they care for their animals. They truly want what's best for them. :)

I love what they do here! We adopted a kitty who turned out to be a bit special needs, but we love him so much! We are working with him every day (he has massive anxiety).

Awhile back, my wife and I were looking at a Beagle and went to do our regular scheduling and paper work. After getting ready to do our final visit with the Beagle, we found out he was given to someone else. People kept telling me to go thru Bismarck Animal Rescue to adobt my cat but that is thru this and i already tried past couple months and been told they have to many cats and I will be charged until given.

i love the cdhs i volunteer there because its the least i can do for all they have done for the animals and people staff are great dogs are too being a voluteer means you can walk them and sit with them in the kennels they are a no kill organization and thats great too staff is great again and i love it this is not even half of the good things about it but i cant list them all i would go on forever!
