Only place in town and right off of the highway. Location is the only thing good about this place. Our room had an elongated toilet seat on a round toilet. Never stay in room 118 unless it has been changed to the correct seat. Floors seemed as though they have never been washed. Beds were not made daily. Too bad it is the only option for overnight stay. We were pleased with the dining and bar, although the service was poor. The waitress set the food at the end of the table for us to pass around or asked who got what, and we then passed to whom ordered. In one instance the waiter sat at our table to take our order...it was very busy as a family funeral brought many people to town, and they are not experienced or able to handle all that many people. I asked for a missing orange for my beer and the bartender brought it to me in his hand??? There is new ownership, so I'm guessing all new help. Hope they can work out the kinks. I also suggest a uniform as it's hard to know who works there when you have to find someone. At least a shirt for all. Don't expect a classy joint but the food is great! And the tap beer is cold if they didn't run out!Noteworthy details: Front Desk person not around much. And when you walk in it is not appealing or inviting! But was a place to sleep and eat.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The pictures are from grandfork not Lawton. I should have left when I walked in from the smell and dirty lobby. After driving for two days just wanted a hot shower but that didn't happen bathroom was filthy we slept on top of blankets because I wasn't sure if bed had even been changed. Remote didn't work so I walked to lobby to find employee in bar my slippers were soaked before I got there do to wet floors. Asked for a different room but was told they didn't have any for hunters being there I feel sorry for anyone staying there. My husband tried to get us breakfast but it wasn't even eatable. I went to check out the gentleman said he was owner come to find out he's the manager he could care less about any issuesl with the hotel. Very rude and ignorant. I would sleep in my car before I'd stay there. Beware this hotel leaves alot to be desired. I know it's out of the way but the condition and the manager need to be addressed.

Because of her, we'll be back!Food was very good too..Again we had another phenomenal server/ bartender (recently 5/23) but the chicken wrap was a disappointment :( the dude that was working was rad.Food & drinks: Don't eat the wrap

1# Amazing staff. Nothing but smiles, teamwork, and professionalism. From the mother/daughter housekeepers, Josh the bartender, Devan the do everything man, to the mother/son team that feed us our delicious breakfast!!The owner should be very proud of his team!!#2 The hotel is what is. I understand that the 1st floor was last remodeled 6 years ago. I was amazed it was that long ago. The rooms are clean, comfy beds, well maintained, and clean. We felt safe.#3 The food is well above expectations. The Hot Beef plate is a must have!!Golden brown toast with Smashed Red Skin Potatoes, topped with some slow roasted Shredded Pot Roast, smothered with a creamy rich Brown Gravey!!The menu is tight, balanced, smart, affordable, and delicious!!#4 Plenty of parking!! Very big rig friendly!!Thanks to everyone here for a pleasant stay!!

A 30 min drive to the lake, it was a bit tiring. I didn't order room service so I don't know how it's like but I think it'd be ok. Other than that, it's a pretty good location to sleep at. The rooms are tidy, and the cleaning services are good. But the walls are a bit thin so if you're getting frisky stay on the quieter side or you'll be broadcasting yourselves to the other room. Have fun!

Location is fantastic, not far from Stump Lake, and only 30 miles from Devil's Lake. Hotel is dated, but clean, and customer service is second to none.Food & drinks: Great bar, and cafe.

We go to Lakota to visit family and i always look forward to the breakfast at the SunLac diner! They are NOT messing around with their caramel rolls!!Food & drinks: sunLac has an in house diner and bar with restaurant. The diner breakfast has generous portions for a low price. Sturdy enough to fuel the farmers and yummy enough to satisfy me from LA.

Stayed here as the reviews said it was good. Got to my room heat was off, so i turned it on to 72. Went to the bar had a drink and an omlette. Omlette was very dry but ok. I had to go up to the counter to ask for a refill on my water. Came back to my room and it was still cold. Put the heat up to 86 and after 2 hours room was still cold. You can smell that someone is smoking weed as its a very strong smell. Overall i wouldnt stay here again as these problems have cause me to drive a little further and look for a better place to sleep.

I showed up when the kitchen was closed down for repair but they still let us in and gave my grandson some pie and my coffee. That's basically all I really wanted. They do know how to take care of people even when they can't make them lunch.

Had to call someone to come to the hotel to check us in. Because the lobby was closed. At 9:07pm. Website said rooms had 2 queen beds, but they were only full size beds. Only one washcloth and 2 towels for 3 people to share, and no one around to get more. Shower had an opened bar of soap and a half full bottle of shampoo sitting on the soap tray. Room was overall comfortable, but I would think twice about staying here again.

This is a perfect little hotel restaurant and miniature casino all gold into one. Tha food was good and the stay was good but the gambling it's not beneficial to me. My room was on the main floor and the walls are brick the floor was carpeting and clean. The beds were clean the mirrors were clean and the bathroom was clean. Can't ask for more than that.

Friendly staff, hotel is easy to access as its right off the highway. Diner here serves good food so you don't need to travel far for breakfast. Rooms all seem to have been updated recently so they look pretty nice. For a small town hotel this one was great!

Workers were very polite, and worked well to fix the negitive things.My sister and I went to stay at the inn the very first room they put us in wasnt cleaned (posted below.) The second room they put us in didnt have a working AC (VERY hot that day.) BUT , after I went to the desk amd explained the employee gave me a discounted price, and put us in another room, that room was fine. Bar is nice, food is good.

Food in restaurant was really good. Had waffle fries and seasoned sour cream with a BLT. If I come through again will definitely stop for that. Room was spacious. Only complaint heat ran out 1/2 way through bath but that may have been bc of timing.

Asst. Manager and servers (bar included) were great. Food was average as well. House keeping was scare. Due to 2 days of no housekeeping I have to give a 2 star rating. Hope they get that fixed.

I am from Michigan and was traveling thru North Dakota when i got stuck in a blizzard in October of this year. Police, fire, and rescue had to find me. They took me to the closest hotel. So i was stranded at the Sunlac Inn for several days waiting out the storm. I was a single female traveling alone so you can image my upset and anxiety of being in an unfamiliar place alone. However i could not have been stranded at a better place. The staff was welcoming and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure i was well taken care of. It made me feel so much better and almost comforted in such an upsetting time. They also have absolutely delicious food and great drinks. So if you are going any where near Lakota, North Dakota just stop in to check out this awesome little inn.

Very quiet. Has Laundry,bar,restaurant and clean rooms. With truck parking. Walking distance to dollar general and dairy queen rite next door. Was cozy. Will stay again for sure.
