The Peacock Mercantile is truly a gem in Hettinger. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks are always top quality. They have rotating monthly and weekly specials that keep the menu new and exciting. I’ve seriously never had a bad item from here! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy! If you are ever in Hettinger stop here, you won’t regret it!Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and the staff is always super helpful with helping me find what items I can and can’t have!Kid-friendliness: There are several board games throughout the shop to keep kids and adults entertained.

I absolutely love this place. I work as a travel nurse and it is so nice to find an excellent coffee shop in a small town like Hettinger. Excellent service, staff was warm and friendly. This place is dairy and gluten friendly. I will recommend 👌👍

I went in today and got there new country scrambler the potatoes and eggs were fully cooked and spiced nicely and the wrap wasn’t soggy at all grilled just right for a good crunch

The staff are very friendly, the shop and coffee shop are immaculately cleaned, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I can't recommend another one of these hidden gems in small towns enough.

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing mine and my best friends experience was. We had a special Valentine’s dinner here and they went above and beyond and even had a gluten free option of everything I had for my friend. Highly recommend. The staff was also super friendly and a main reason I visit here often though I’m from out of town.Parking: Right in frontKid-friendliness: It’s beautiful and has many options for all ages

THE BEST..!!!!! If you like really good coffee, you learn to judge when a place has poured their heart and soul into making good drinks...this place most certainly has! The owner Pam, truly cares about how good her food and drinks taste and they have highly upped the food and coffee game in the small town of Hettinger, ND! I live about 65 miles from there and I keep asking my husband if he needs any parts in that town, so I have an excuse to go the Peacock ! Ha! They are the only place I know of that actually carries heavy cream for coffee, rather than just half-and-half also! Their shots are pulled strong. If you’re on the fence you won’t be disappointed! ❤️❤️❤️

Incredible coffee and tea; oh and soups and sandwiches. Food was delicious, hot and personally served. Decor was gorgeous and very tastefully done. Highly recommend! If you are traveling on I-94 you need to make it a point to deviate your journey and stop here. Many other wonderful shops to stop and shop while in Hettinger, ND.

The Peacock is a unique coffee/deli shop that provides a delightful experience the moment you walk through the door. The staff are courteous and friendly, the coffee and specialty drinks are amazing, the sandwiches, pastries and deserts will keep you coming back for more but....that is not all this little GEM has to offer; there is also the talents of artists adorning the walls along with specialty vendors that bring their crafts and artistic wares to share with those that come into the Mercantile.
