Best kept secret in Grand Forks. If you want organic or healthier food choices, then this is the place to go. Forget the box stores, the variety and quality of the products is worth the extra money. You'll find some of the same brand names as everywhere else, but you'll also find some new favorites. Where else will you find, ground elk, ground version and yes even ground yak here. Haven't tried the yak, but the elk is a great protein. Store is clean, easy to get around, a lot less crowded, and you get real customer service. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Stop and give them a try. UPDATE: Been looking for odd spices in GF and found them here. Great prices too. They run specials all the time and always fun to see what they have. I had an issue with my throat due to working around harmful chemicals by companies that don't care about the well being of humans thank God for Natural Grocers in fact thank Jesus Christ our Lord. I purchased a few drinks from Natural Grocers and the pain slowly went away had a tumeric with ginger beverage and a green vegetable beverage as well as a few others now that's how you know a business owner really loves people by selling and providing all 100% Organic products and the staff are simply heaven sent thank you Natural Grocers.

I visit this store, often, with my personal valet and constant companion, Hamilton Hobknob. If you shop here, regularly, you will notice me. I'm the gentleman of distinctive bearing, immaculately dressed, bone thin and I wear a monocle.In fact, I do all my food shopping at this store! It isn't so much the food, but the social life that attracts me. Where else can you find such young and attractive men to associate with, as well as women of proper breeding? And the waitstaff know their place and treat me with the proper dignity and subservience.Of course, I recognize some sense of irony in that organic meat, dairy and eggs, as well as food in cans, bagged chips, and the large freezers aren't going to be as healthy as any item chosen at random from the produce section of any grocery store, including Wal-Mart. I get it. Anyone with half a brain gets it. But, shopping is a form of therapy and this is a boutique and we all like to have active fantasy lives, to escape our dreary mundane lives.It saddens me greatly to even for a moment entertain the idea of dropping the fantasy, of taking a closer look at the waitstaff, who are meant to be prime examples of the pinnacle of health and vitality and to scrutinize them more carefully. Or to wonder if their forced smiles entertain any darker feelings, real feelings, that haven't been carefully rehearsed. Do some of the customers have real feelings, and aren't just reciting their lines, like characters in a sit-com? If so, what would be the point of coming in, at all? You might as well just go to a discount store. Or why not send Hamilton in with a list, and stay home and watch reruns of Gilligan's Island off of Satellite TV?As you can see, there are a multitude of options. I myself had a very sick, bedridden friend, Mr. Bunbury, living with me at the guest cottage of my mansion and with just foods off the shelf at this boutique, was able to nurse him back to health in less than a year's time.Using a boutique grocer is an inexpensive way to have an active social life, because food is so very cheap, these days and overpaying for it, is not something we should really take seriously. If you talk to some of the customers in the store, you will find they are in complete agreement with me! I highly recommend Natural Grocers!I walked past the store, today. I've never seen the parking lot so full. There must have been 20 cars in the parking lot. I got a strange note from Google that this review has been viewed 10,000 times, which is something they never send me. I guess the customers must have liked my glowing endorsement. Good to see they are putting some thought into it.

Visit was to purchase a supplement but what they had available was significantly higher than what is available from online vendors. When I mentioned this to the employee on the floor assisting me that I hate to spend so much more for an item that I don't know will be effective or not (first time trying) the employee told me that I can return it within 30 days with a receipt. So I decided to purchase it for that reason alone. At check out I asked the cashiers if this was correct about their return policy on supplements and was told I can return it if had an allergic reaction.This is a significantly different than what the floor staff told me and I mentioned this to the cashiers so then they told me I could return it as long as I have a receipt. So now of course I'm still concerned about the return policy of an expensive item and that I was getting contradictory information. I felt like I was not only being given confusing information but felt they were not taking my valid concern seriously. The manager came over and I asked the same question and first she said I can return with a receipt. Still confusing so I pursued this again explaining I do not want issues trying to return it so then she gave me list of valid reasons I can return a supplement (expired product when purchased, allergic reaction) and that I *cannot return it if it is not effective for it's intended purpose. The cashiers were telling their manager they gave me the correct list of valid returns when they did not and in fact they contradicted themselves more than once and were not giving me consistent, complete, accurate information. I was made to feel like I was being a difficult customer when employees were all giving me misleading contradictory information regarding the return policy and then saying they gave me the correct valid return/refund list when they did not. I deserved an apology for being given incorrect refund policy information from floor staff and confusing, incomplete and/or contradictory information from cashiers and manager instead of them doubling down on their errors and treating me like an inconvenient problem child. Poor quality customer care & service all around.

It's my favorite place in town to get organic produce and groceries! The vibe is always calm, helpful, and soothing in there!On top of all that, one day, I had left my wallet at home ( I was running some errands and wanted a snack, so I stopped quick) when I went out to the car to check for my wallet, the manager working there had paid for my haul! I tried to pay him back, and he wouldn't accept! It was around $20! Hopefully, I will get a chance to pay him back sometime! Nonetheless, I was very grateful and appreciative of that!

I'm new to the area, so this was my first trip here.Was pleasantly surprised with the great selection product to purchase. Got some fresh veggies, yogurt, vitamins, and beauty supplies. Will definitely be back now that I know what they offer. Stop by and check them out. Friendly staff too.

Pleasantly surprised when we saw the fun varieties of food Natural Grocers had available. There's a ton of things in there that I didn't think would make it to ND. Also did some price checking against a couple other grocery stores in town and there were a lot of common items/food that were better quality/freshness and cost less at Grocers. The staff seemed to be very willing to help as well. Definitely going back

I’ve been going to Natural Grocers for about 3 months now and I’ll say that I haven’t had a bad experience yet. Cashiers and produce staff are especially kind and helpful with any needs or questions. I always come here for produce because most times it’s cheaper than other grocery stores, is more fresh, and of course is organic! I could spend all day in there.

Been shopping here since they opened. It went from just getting a few items here during every grocery run to now getting the majority of my groceries here! Produce is fresh most the time; they always have someone working in there! Staff is super helpful and friendly. Love shopping here!

Clean, organized, and cheaper than Whole Foods. Would love to see more meat selections and domestic/local fruits and vegs. I prefer not to buy fruits/vegs sourced from other countries.

I have been shopping here for awhile and today was Valentines Day and I was to get a free chocolate bar at the register..but the cashier never asked if we wanted one and when I asked after making my purchase, he just began scanning the next person's items and said he would have to manually put it in..but gave no indication that he would do that for me. So disappointed I never got my free chocolate bar. I was really looking forward to it and made a purchase just to get one too.

Love this store. Cashiers are always kind and I enjoy having a chat with them. They often have sales and always have a wide variety of veggies and fruits, but not so much that it detracts from the quality. Appreciate that they label where the produce comes from. Store is always nice and clean. The stuff they bring to the dumpster is always neatly packed-- it's like they know someone's coming!

I was recently visiting from out of state and needed to pick-up some items. I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of the store, especially the supplements. I found many items I was familiar with and able to find substitutes for the items I could not. Pricing was comparable to or better than other stores I shop at. The employees were very helpful and they have a shopper rewards program. I will definitely stop in again when in the area.

Always a good experience. It's simply a grocery store you go in and find what you want and walk out. It's a nice place to find healthier, cleaner options. Prices vary sometimes a bit higher. I interviewed the higher price to better quality control.

The wife and I frequent here often. Our go to place for all things organic. Great selection and their prices, for the products being sold, are reasonable. Just remember... bring your own reusable grocery bag! If not be open to taking your product home in a cardboard box or buying a reusable bag there.

It's geared toward vegans I wanted raw milk raw cheese unpasteurized butter grass fed larger meat selection but you will an array of supplements and vegan food so it's not really a store for fresh wholesome animal foods which are essential to human health and I was looking for food I seem to have gone to a vegan store for groceries.

Interesting selection of packaged foods, including refrigerated and ready to eat meals. Some of packaged food is unique and excellent. Frozen food is not good. All their pizza is gluten free, which is a disaster. I know that they try to do only organic produce, but the quality of produce is not there, perhaps because of low turnover. Prices are moderate to low.
