Although the visitor center was not open when I visited, I was able to explore and learn about the park and surrounding area through the exhibits. Beautiful park☺️

Beautiful park and campground. Two marinas, swim beach, boat ramps, museum. The two sites we stayed on for a week were #129 and #135. Both are pull in. Picnic tables and fire rings on all sites. Huge sites. Lots of locals with boats and plenty of room for boats and vehicles. We had full hook ups, but there is a area with only electric and water but there is an RV dump area. Very quiet. There's a trolley that's free that comes around on Saturdays to go into town.

Nice park. Loads of good camping spots and hook ups. Marina rents boats, pontoons and paddle boats etc. Lots of fun. Swim area more small round pebbles than sand which is cool. But in last year or 2 has really not ben maintained like the rest of the park. Swimming area ropes gone and it's all grown up weeds. Diamond in the rough if they would just look after the swim area for families that like that sorta thing. Large park, lots of bike trails.

Great place to camp and walk around but make sure to put your food away or the seagulls that I ended up calling "Steve and his merry band of gulls" will swoop in a feast till their hearts content.Restrooms: Super clean

My husband and I went here to start off the 2021 ND Parks & Rec Hike and Adventure Challenges. The weather was lovely for January and the hike itself was nice and calming. We completed the Flicker and Northern Pine Loops. I'd say the hike was easy. The view was gorgeous from the interpretive trail! I recommend going here. We will come back during Summer.

You wouldn't even think you're in North Dakota while walking around here. Stunning place to visit with many places to hike and enjoy the lake from many different parts of the State Park. Bathrooms (Outhouses) were some of the cleanest ones we've seen in a state park! Keep up the lovely work maintaining this nice park!

We were blown away by the amazing staff, helpful rangers and how well the rental equipment and picnic shelters were maintained. We had a group of 30 people and it was one of the best days lake days I've ever had.

We went to the annual kite festival here. It's a 3 day event and is very interesting and fun. Nice view of the lake and a small museum on the grounds.

Admission into the park is $7.00 and an annual pass is somewhere around $20.00. That pass does not just include annual admission into Fort Stevenson, it includes admission into EVERY state park in North Dakota!Beautiful place to grill out, camp, hike, swim, boat or just fly a kite. Definitely worth the drive to Garrison! Also nice to see the wildlife! Please be respectful and CLEAN UP YOUR TRASH! Nobody in the world makes enough money to clean up garbage that does not belong to them.Thank you! Support your local state parks!!!

First time at Ft. Stevenson State Park and thought it was beautiful. There are lots of places to walk with our dog and our site was fairly private. We are planning on going back up in a few weeks.

Arriving late. We were on the road, didn’t make it as far as we had planned, needed a place to stop, short notice, called so many places no answer… the web site for the state park had a chat feature… we we started a chat, I have to admit I didn’t have great expectations, I’ve been absolutely blown away by the effort. We were able to get the info we needed in a timely manner, got a spot late. The park is awesome and we are so impressed, clean, quiet and welcoming, the site perfect, the grass neat, quiet and beautiful. You must see this place, right off the water it is a piece of paradise. The staff are the very best, this has just become our new favorite place to visit!Playground: Wish I was a kid again, it is amazingRestrooms: Super cleanDog-friendliness: Perfect place to bring your dogPicnic area: Very nice place

Did SkyFest a free event over Memorial Weekend and it was a blast. Drove around and the campgrounds and other areas of the park were outstanding.

Great camping spots! Quite, family friendly, lots to do. Bike trail is challenging, kayaks are available to rent, along with boats. Camp staff were very nice and accommodating! The little museum was nicely maintained and free. Views are awesome! The little gopher town is something kids enjoy! Town is close by with a grocery store, and dollar store and liquor store. The store on the camp ground, serves breakfast and hot food items, and ice cream. Highly recommend this camp ground!

Nice views of the lake and fairly well marked hiking/walking trails. There's no actual fort here as it was historically by the river which is now the lake. Not very secluded feeling as you can see houses, farms, etc from almost all viewpoints. There is a cute little prairie dog town!

Great park with great amenities. Swim beach, marina, trails, great equipment rentals. This park is great for families. The ability to rent bikes (which are super good) and go on the trails is a great feature.Easy water access and marina is also a great feature. There is also a concession store that sells food and ice cream and everything is delicious.Definitely try the ice cream. It's a great treat after a hot day in the water.Overall it's a super awesome place to stay, camp and hang out that is family friendly, clean and safe.

The walking trails are so scenic, The beach so peaceful and beautiful. Spots are private and spacious. I ♡ the prairie dogs. One of my favorite parks. Only complaint would be dog owners who don't keep their dogs leashed which leads to dog owners who don't clean up after their dog!

Friendly staff work the park. The facilities were clean and maintained. Two suggested improvements would be to add more room for camper and vehicle camping in the group sites (tight fit and extra vehicle/boat parking is tough and too close to the roadway) along with installing a toilet area next to the fish cleaning station along with hand sanitizer at the station). Otherwise, it was nice.

Horrible biting flies along beach/lake front so bad you can't be there. Went to the marina area and they were a little better but still bad.

I love this place! We rent a slip here for our boat, which has saved our relationship in a way that counseling never would have for all the times he would have had to apologize for the things he might have said while we were backing up the trailer! And there's more! There are two marinas with boat ramp access, boat rentals, and fish cleaning facilities, park visitors can learn about the military past by visiting the park museum, you can rent cabins or regular camp style, there's an arboretum (where you go look at trees and plants), boat ramps, dog park, fish cleaning station, gas dock (which you might think it's expensive, but your not having to get out of the water😉), concession/restaurant with ice cream, playgrounds, and more stuff. Check out the website. Plus you can rent stuff!

First time here this weekend. Beautiful park with great access to the lake for your dog to swim without bothering people. Camping spots are a little close but it's not terrible. Awesome trails to walk on as well.

I took advantage of the beautiful spring day to log some miles on the hiking trails. The trails are well groomed and marked out clearly with maps at each fork. Although I prefer a more rugged, untamed trail, the park did not disappoint with the varying terrain from pebbly beaches to young pine forests. The fort was quite educational and well preserved. Also, there are a few fitness trails with a workout regimen for both athletes and families. Fort Stevenson Park has something to offer everyone and I would highly recommend for a wonderful afternoon retreat!
