This is my go to freshwater aquatic store in the area. Scott and Alexa are very knowledgeable owners, and carry a wide variety of fish and supplies. If they don't have it they can normally have it for you by their next shipment. I've purchased a majority of my fish and plants from here, and while I do shop elsewhere my experiences are much better here. Here are a couple of fish I've purchased there.

In my honest opinion, this is the best local fish place here in Fargo, and their is no way around that. The owners are super friendly, and I could definitely tell they wanted to help. They have many plants, fish, and equipment for your tanks. Also, they have some more fun fish than you would see in like Pet smart. My favorite was the Red Devil which I linked a photo of. All round really great place would recommend getting fish here to anyone and they price fair.

This place has it all for the aquarium enthusiast! Scott is always helpful and will do his best to get any special orders in quick and the prices are great! I have bought alot of fish here and they have all been super healthy.

Just got back into fish keeping again and absolutely love this store! The owners are very kind and informative with any questions you may have! The fish and aquariums are well taken care of!Here is a betta fish I purchased, he eventually changed colors!

I absolutely loved my experience at The Tropical Fish Shoppe with Scott and Alexa. They are so knowledgeable and friendly, and I really appreciated their helping getting me some new fish for my new tank. This place is great for all things fish tanks.I picked up some fish and plants for my aquarium, but more valuable is the willingness of the people here to share their experience and advice for building and managing a fish tank! Chain style stores are okay, but if you want to truly learn from some experts, these are the type of stores you gotta check out.Thanks again for all the help.

Cute little fish store. I came in searching for a betta, and definitely found a beautiful, healthy one. Very clean and all of the fish look very healthy in general. They have a good amount of live plants to buy, and the people there are very kind and helpful.

Excellent place!! Nancy and Jim are so helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about fish. I was told that this is the place to go to stock my new large tank correctly. I love how willing they were to answer my questions! 30+ years in the business....service was like they had just opened & I was their first customer. No box store, Amazon or Internet shopping for my fish! Learned she can even special order! Might need a bigger tank!

First trip over a month ago: Loved the whole experience at this local business. We purchased 4 fish from this couple and they were very knowledgeable and friendly, they answered every question we had. We will definitely be coming back next time we decide to add another fish to our tank. The cost was better than any big box pet store we've visited so far.Returned today and bought some shrimpies. Love the selection and the great prices at this place. Plus, the health of any of the fish we've bought have been fine, never any issues .

Nice spacious store. Only thing I would change is more options outside of cichlids. And more gold fish but this is my favorite in town (fargo) shop*there is more then cichlids here. Just feels like there is quite a lot of them which is great for people with cichlids I just don't own any 😊

Great fish shop with a lot of varieties of aquatic life, plants and supplies. The owners were super helpful, friendly and patient. I love their enthusiasm and knowledge and how eager they were to help me learn. If you are just starting out or adding to your existing tanks, stop in. You won't regret it!

Love this place! Owner is always welcoming and the fish prices are very reasonable. The freshwater fish are typically in good health each time I visit. The owner has the capability to oxygenate your bags if you have to travel outside the local area. (I travel 4 hours away without any issues or losses). Excellent small business!

I have purchased a total of eleven fish from this place. And so far four, have died in the first week, and the other two died a few months later. My other fish in my tank I had prior to shopping here are still alive. They sell sick fish, do not buy from them. They will tell you every kind of fish can go with any other kind of fish, tank ect. Not sure how they stay in business? I see lots of positive reviews on here, must be in denial. I will go back to Petsmart.
