BEWARE! We purchased/rescued a puppy from Animal Kingdom the middle of December. His living conditions were cramped and he was very dirty. We took him to the vet the next day and he had Giardia. We had been having trouble potty training him and were concerned he may have a urinary infection which we found out he did. Animal Kingdom assured us their puppies were healthy! Of course you sign a clause taking the animal "as is." They would not guarantee anything. We have found out, since purchasing our puppy, that Animal Kingdom has a horrible reputation. Also, I know they had Kennel Cough in November but did not disclose to us. BEWARE of any purchase from Animal Kingdom they need to be CLOSELY monitored to make sure the animals are being kept in a clean and sanitary environment.

I was told not to go there, but there is not many places to get a dog here in Bismarck, and I wanted a small dog breed because I travel a lot. So I went and paid a high price for my puppy. He was dirty, and told his ears stink a little. In my head I thought for what you guys charge, the puppy should be cleaned and ready to go. WELL . THE STINK IN HIS EAR WAS A EAR INFECTION. They said it was common with my type of dog. It's not... They seem unprofessional. When ringing up my dog he didn't have all his shots, and I was told to go "buy" them because of the cold the owners shipment froze. To me if I can go around the corner and buy the medicine for my dog, the owner can get off her ass and get the proper vaccines for the dog. I am thankful to God my Doggie is doing great compared to the other horror stories I read. I can see what all the fuss is about. Unprofessional and just kinda "Tacky" staff. Like they can care less... I am truly thinking about opening my own Pet store here in Bismarck. I am from California and let me tell you North Dakota You are OVER paying for your dogs. It's a shame because the price you pay .. you should at-least get healthy dogs in return and that's not the case!!! If they want you to support local business they need to step up there game....

I went there six months ago and the staff was so rude! I was told only serious buyers can hold pets like I was some bum off the street. My boyfriend and I were going to purchase a puppy since we are now stable enough for such responsibility. But the smell was horrid in there and with the staff members charming behavior I decided not too! I have since adopted a abandoned pet by my mothers house. And I occasionally look on bismam for a companion for him only to find the animal kingdom putting misleading prices on bismam headlines posting 299$ when the are more like $1000 not including vet fees because a smell that rancid poor animals must have more than worms!!! Don't buy from there so gross and they can't keep help!

I purchased a puppy from Animal Kingdom one year ago when we came to visit our daughter and her husband. We were told that he was in perfect health and had just been recently examined by a vet. However, upon them getting him ready to leave the store with us they mysteriously found that he had an umbilical hernia. Why would the vet not have noticed this and what else was missed should have been my questions but I was already in love with the puppy and didn't listen to my gut instinct. When I got him home to Montana he slowly started showing signs that he was a sick little puppy with diarrhea and vomiting. I took him to the vet who discovered that he had giardia which is one of the things that pet store said they do not cover. Probably from recent discovery because all the animals they bring into their store come down with it due to them not keeping things clean and the animals living in an unhealthy enviroment. My puppy was treated and fixed and just never seemed to be a normal puppy full of energy and playful. Unfortunately on the very day of his first birthday my puppy died in his sleep. Upon doing research it was found that the puppy had congestive heart failure which is a common problem in this breed and should have been checked by the breeders vet prior to selling the puppy and also by the pet store but if it was checked was passed off and sold anyway without giving this information to me the person buying the puppy. Upon trying to call them and see if they were going to guarantee the loss of my puppy with another I was told each time that there was no one available that could give me answers. I have now discovered that they sold a puppy to my niece as well that is exchibiting the same kind of symptoms that my puppy had with diarrhea and vomiting and even with her living there she has been unable to get any results from them. This business is either buying from backyard breeders and passing them on to unsuspecting consumers or as I said they are becoming infected while in the stores enviroment. I would recommend that no one purchase from them because they will not make good on your purchase if you do encounter problems nor help with the vet bills that pile up due to their negligence. Please be aware of the places that you are looking at purchasing a pet from and do research on the business before you purchase to avoid the same kind of problems that many others have already faced.

Absolutely disgusting store. My family and I bought (more like rescued) two little black kittens from this place. Their eyes and noses were so full of goop that I'm sure they couldn't see, and had to breathe through their mouths. The workers told us it was "a cold". They couldn't even stand on their own from illness, and were clearly far too young to be given away. The vet said that if they had gone a single day longer without treatment, they would have died in that cage. They barely made it as it was, with all the loving care we gave them.Too many animals crammed into tiny cages. Completely filthy and reeking of waste. There was a cage full of mice (literally full -- some even had to stand on top of others because there was no exposed floor for them to sit on) EATING each other. A Great Dane puppy in a cage so small he couldn't even sit up. Puppies with empty water dishes scraping up dried feces from the cage bottoms with their teeth. Animals that are meant to be housed alone are crammed in with many others. The worker couldn't answer at least half my questions -- simple things! This place has a nasty reputation for sickly animals -- puppies with parvo (they call it "a cold"), pneumonia, all manner of things. This place is a horror show. Please don't support this disgusting place.

This store broke my 18 year old dog;s jaw! He went in just fine and came out in pain and wouldn't let us near his face. We went to the vet the next day and he told us his jaw was broke. They won't take any responsibility and deny everything. The owner, Barb, even told us the next day it was HER who shaved my dog when in reality we met his groomer and they had told us Barb wasn't in that day. This place lies to their customers and I'm not the first person that has come back with an injured pet. I may have to put my dog down because of Animal Kingdom. NEVER use this place, it should be shut down immediately.

I stopped at Animal Kingdom just to look at puppies.. I chose to purchase a Yorkshire Terrier on a whim! I asked her where the puppy came from. I was told from a breeder from Minnesota. I questioned her about the breeder, I was told they get many of their dogs from this "reputable" breeder. She gave me confidence that was a true statement. After spending $1000 at Animal Kingdom...my baby wa $895...I googled the breeder...Results: Largest Breeder in America...also hits the Humane Societys top 100, horrible dog breeders...further investigations into this breeder...show many citations for deplorable conditions for the 1100 dogs she has!!! The stories made me ill! Its places like Animal Kingdom that keep Puppy Mills in business, I will never set foot in a business that supports such disgusting Breeders! STAY AWAY FROM ANIMAL KINGDOM! I have had my puppy 24 hours...straight to the vet I will go!!

We purchased an AKC black lab puppy from this store. The puppy is very sweet and lovable. However, after noticing that she was going to the bathroom 10-15 times a day, I took her to the vet. She was diagnosed with Giardia, which cost me a vet bill of over $100. Secondly, the dog was found to have an umbilical hernia. The pet store claims to guarantee the dogs when you buy them, but after three phone calls, I was informed that giardia is common and they won't pay for it. Also, since this puppy was kenneled with multiple other dogs in a small area, it is likely that all the puppies in the store where/are infected, and it would be near impossible for them to rid all of them of the parasite. You can pretty much count on any puppy you get from there having it. So after you pay hundreds of dollars for a puppy, be prepared to pay more for the vet bill. The manager was very rude. I also talked to two other people who have purchased dogs with infections (a Jack Russell terrier, a two seperate Daschounds). You are better off buying directly from a breeder on bismanonline.

I only gave this one star just so I could leave a review! I would leave this review with NO stars if possible! This place and everyone who works here is SICK and cruel! The only "good" reviews on here must be spam reviews from the owner, employees etc. This is ridiculous! So many dead animals, cases of kennel cough and the heart breaking list goes on and on and on! This has to and WILL stop! Vet bills (that Animal Kingdom could care less about), innocent sick pets, careless staff, rank smelling environment. How is this justifiable? It's NOT! Why are they still in business? I am sick to my stomach and beyond pis*ed! I have heard of their dumpster containing dead animals that they just throw out and apparently, it happens "often"? Sorry, but this is not going to fly. I encourage everyone to leave your review on here and tell your story. Bringing this rating down is important, but bringing this sick place down is even more important.

Bought a King Charles from here and got a "discount" because he had a respiratory condition they called "Kennel Cough". After multiple trips to the vet, and many opinions one vet did an X-ray and it revealed he had pneumonia. One whole lung was congested, and the vet said he honestly didn't know how puppy was still alive. My $400 puppy turned into a $3000 puppy real quick and animal kingdom said they would do nothing because when you buy an animal there you are buying it "as-is"I don't understand how this place can stay open, they need to be shut down!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Received a choc lab from Animal Kingdom, within 18 hours of purchase my puppy was not acting right(very lethargic and puking). I took her to the vet IMMEDIATELY and found out my poor baby had parvo virus!! She was admitted to the hospital and fought very hard but lost the battle after a week in the hospital :( Needless to say we were devastated!! They RUDELY returned the purchase money and were informed that my puppy had parvo so the other puppies at the store would have been exposed to this deadly virus! When getting the refund 6 days after purchase, noticed the puppies that were with my puppy were still in the store for sale!! Very sad!I found a site on facebook about Animal Kingdom and was MORTIFIED to find so MANY other pet lovers had the SAME EXPERIENCE I had with this pet store!! I recommend going through a breeder as they truly Love and Care for their babies!!

This place has had a bad reputation for years, I know of NO ONE who has had a good experience with pets purchased there. I have always thought they had something to do with my Cavalier's death several years ago. Even though I was aware of the ill health of the animals they sell, I didn't think it would be that bad to get my dog groomed there (first time owner), and it was a convenient location for me at the time. After I picked him up, he was loopy and awfully drowsy for the rest of the night. The next day, I told my boss I was concerned about him, just didn't seem "right" so I went home & spent the day with him. He died in my arms that evening. I have since heard that they sedate the animals they groom, hit them, and expose them to animals with parvo, distemper, kennel cough, etc. Please do not support this business - they must be shut down! There's actually a Facebook group set up for victims of them. Check it out before you purchase ANYTHING from them.

I give Animal Kingdom negative star rating, it would disgust me to give it even one. We took our dog there to get groomed. When we dropped him off he was in perfect health and when we picked him up four hours later, he had a BROKEN JAW that would cost over $2,000 to fix and can only be done in Iowa. Someone should move the animals out and burn the place down.

Bought two cats from there, both were heavily infested with ear mites. Staff said it was just dirt in their ears. Both cats would become ravenous whenever food was put out for them. We had to lock them in other rooms while we ate so they wouldn't attack us. This calmed down after a month or so when they realized they would always have food. One cat had distemper and went into anaphylactic shock 3 days after we brought him home. We called the vet after hours, who gave him a sugar shot and hospitalized him after a week and 1000$ we got Cedric back. He still seemed a little odd and his condition while improved wasn't the best. After he started having seizures we took him in again and he was diagnosed with a a greater than 90% chance of FIP. We had to put him down. Both Cats were also infested with worms. And they brought this home to our other cat. Now Animal Kingdom makes you sign a waiver because they know they have this in their building. These parasites and diseases are persistent in the enviorment and the vets in this town are sick of all the crap coming out of that place please do not buy from here. You will regret it. Go to the Humane Society in Mandan, or the pound in Bismarck.

I would give this store a negative star rating if I could. This store broke my sisters dogs jaw and will not take responsibility for it. My mom is a rabbit breeder and come to find out that they crammed all 3 bunnies in one little cage which is wrong. I have heard they sell sick animals and some die and they won't take responsibility. In my opinion this store should be permanently shut down. Don't go there if you want you animal to live.

TERRIBLE PET STORE! So many animals have died or been sick. It makes me sad. :( They need to be shut down. The cages, food, and toys they provide for Sugar Gliders will KILL them eventually!! They are arboreal and social animals! Having them alone and in a tiny cage with pellets will cause their fur to stain, over groom, and can even lead to self mutilation!! Stay AWAY from this place!

I am sad by all the bad publicity this place has gotten ive heard them all and it's very sad. I myself have had my dogs groomed and have got them all from there. Two very heathly pups a Pomeranian and a puggle. I never had a problem. Just wanted to shed some positive light in their retirement.

I would never purchase any kind of animal or take my black labrador to be groomed at this infamous Bismarck establishment. Very unclean, unsanitary environment and employees are notorious for neglecting the needs of the animals. Negative stars.

Very filthy store, they give the absolute minimal care for their animals. Most animals are laying in feces and urine in small cages. They lie about their animals health and give false information on how to care for them. The place is utterly gross and smells like death.

Friends are complaining their animals purchased here are sold in grave condition. Please get your potential new pet a real vet inspection before buying from here.

This establishment does not seem like a healthy environment for any species. I would recommend other pet stores before making a purchase at Animal Kingdom based on service and environment alone.
