My family and I have been eating here for years. This visit was just OK. Service was good and attentive. Ordered a bowl of she crab soup and it seemed more like a cup and arrived room temperature. Fries were hot and yummy. The oysters and shrimp were very small unlike previous visits. Seemed like they needed more batter. Crab cakes were good and the slaw, homemade ranch, tartar, and cocktail sauce were all very good.

Sadly, the view might be the only thing I would come back for. We had high expectations of this place but our fried shrimp and oyster platter were below average as the fries were stale, like they have been sitting somewhere before being served to us. The mocktail did not arrive before our food and seemed like they forgot about it because I had to follow it up. The food took about 15 mins which is pretty standard. My sister got her softdrink served within 7 minutes , not sure why mine didn't come at the same time. The other thing we found odd was that the waitress did not give us the bill when we asked for it. Instead, she came back with the eftpos machine but with no receipt offered. It's also interesting to note that other reviewers have mentioned the same thing about a waitress that did not give the bill or receipt.

I hate writing negative reviews about places however after high expectations I have to say we were highly disappointed in our experience at the Oceanic Restaurant.The views are amazing which is unfortunately is where the positive ended for us. It was around 2PM, so not a busy meal time, we just wanted drinks and the view.We were seated out on the dock, and after waiting for over 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server order a glass of wine and a beer. The wind was really heavy so I went back to the car to get my jacket. Came back and we still hadn't received our drinks. We saw other tables who were eating, and/or ready to leave also sitting and searching for the server. She did eventually come out with our drinks (I didn't check my watch but I'd estimate about 20 minutes) and apologized profusely for the wait. We said it was ok, which it was because we were not in a rush. After finishing said drinks and having not seen her again since, we decided we should probably just pay the check and leave. We waited and waited, then finally went insider and asked the bar tender if we could just pay them so we could leave. She was behind us in the kitchen hallway laughing and joking around with staff. She took our credit card to pay without giving a bill/tab which we thought was strange, Then brought the slip for my husband to sign. We were so disappointed. The place is beautiful with great ambiance and views of the Beach. I hope that this was a unique experience due to the specific server, and not the overall norm. It has discouraged us from considering coming back in the future.

I regret not arriving in the sunshine bc the view was the reason I chose here. But the food was perfect!! I recommend the salmon and fish, both delicious!! Our food took a while to arrive but we didn't feel the time so much even the waitress gave us "something" as a courtesy for the delay. I’m not a fry person but of course I appreciate the detail. For drink we ordered piña colada and soda , the thing here was, in the menu say “if you want to add alcohol say to your waitress”. I didn’t ask alcohol and even I didn’t feel the alcohol in my piña colada but in the bill there was the plus for the alcohol, so I recommend be totally especific with your waitress if not she decide for you.

I wanted to love sitting on the pier but between the pigeons getting up close and personal during your meal and wind from the beach I think inside would’ve been a much better idea - I had really high hopes for this beautiful restaurant but sadly it fell short. The food was okay, decent at most but overpriced- portion sizes were as expected. The service was amazing! We loved our waiter and thought he was charismatic and had a good grip on the menu for it being his first day at the time. The Crème Brûlée tasted like straight up lighter fluid so that was disappointing

Loved our visit. It was my first time dining. My mom, sister and daughter had been over spring break the food was delicious and came out quickly. Our drinks were all amazing. Our server Anna was patient and answered any questions we had about the menu. We celebrated moms belated birthday and didn't have to pay for dessert for her. We'll be back.

We stumbled upon this place on a whim after a day at the water park, and I’m so glad we did. My friend was in town visiting and she loved the ocean views we got, especially at sunset. Our waiter was nice and attentive. I wish I could remember his name, but he had longer hair if that helps. The food and drinks were great as well. I had the market salad and it was delicious! The coleslaw was also some of the best I’ve had. I highly recommend this place. We did have a 45 minute wait but we got to wait on the beach so it was fine. I spent the time taking photos under the gorgeous pier.

We always enjoy dining at Oceanic! Even as locals, the views and the food never get old. Our server, Maddy, was positive and energetic. She had great recommendations and really went the extra mile. We had just bought our first home and were out celebrating. She wrote “Congrats” on a plate with a delicious dessert. She made the day all the more special!

We went to oceanic to celebrate a special birthday. We did not have a reservation so we waited. They told us the wait was about an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes but it ended up being about 45 minutes. While waiting we found seats at the bar and had a couple of appetizers and drinks. When we were called to our table, I felt that it was probably one of the best tables in the house we were on the porch overlooking the beach. I just happen to be close to sunsets so we had a great view! They were extremely busy as it was move-in weekend, and the only time the service was lacking. Where’s the table service. Drinks could’ve been filled a little faster. Other than that we had a delicious meal. Overall a great night out. We will be back.

I dislike writing reviews like this. This restaurant has the best atmosphere in the Wrightsville Beach / Wilmington area. The inside is really nice and the outside is stunning. The outside seating is on the Crystal Pier. The views of the ocean are beautiful.With that said every time I have dined here the service as been awful. It has not been that the servers are bad. I think it is because they have to many tables because when they do come to our table they are very pleasant. The problem is the wait. The last time we dined here was Saturday Oct.7th. We were sat outside right away. We sat at our table 25 minutes before a server came to our table. Then we waited another 15 min for our drinks. We waited 40 min for our food and did not receive everything. At that point we just let it go.Now for the food. The food sounds really good. In the 10 plus times I have been here the food has been prepared terrible. The fried food is not battered well and greasy. Ly fries were soggy. The shrimp barely had breading. The She Crab soup had no seasoning. No flavor other than cream and crab. The salmon that came on the salad had no taste of seasoning but was cooked well. The crab dip taste like mayo. I could go on and on.When you walk from the front door to the pier you walk by the kitchen. You can see in the kitchen. The floor was filthy. It is very unfortunate because the restaurant is really nice and the atmosphere is wonderful.They need to hire a consultant or someone that knows how to run a restaurant. I would trim the menu to be able to focus on quality. Hire someone that can install high standards with service and cleaning. I waited a long time before writing this review because again I do not like writing reviews that are not good but it is what it is. I keep going back here because I love the environment and I want the best for the restaurant.Vegetarian options: The salads are large and one of the best menu items.Parking: There is a free parking lot but when they are busy it can be hard to find a spot in their parking lot. There is also paid parking on the street.

Stop by this place while visiting the beach. It was in March, so it was still a little chilly out. I know this place is phenomenal during the summer! Tons of outdoor space, beautiful views, and just an overall lovely atmosphere.Due to its proximity to the beach, you could tell that the location comes under quite a bit of abuse from the elements. Inside the floors are looking pretty rough as well as some other areas. It's to be expected.The service was great and the food was good. Nothing blew my socks off but I did enjoy it. They also have a pretty good beverage menu.Overall, I would come back. I'm really curious about the summer months and what this place has to offer during its prime season.

First time here and loved my visit. It was my last stop on my way out of town after a quick beach trip. You can't beat the view and the overall experience was epic. Laura T was my server and she was excellent, she answered my questions with ease and had great recommendations. I started with the Crab Dip and it was some of the best I've had. For my main, I had Crab Stuffed Blackened Salmon, which came with Asparagus and Rice Pilaf and everything was perfectly cooked. I will be back for my next mini-getaway. This is a must in Wrightsville, I suggest you get there early as it stays packed and parking is limited.

Atmosphere & service were fine & seafood was so so for Oceanside dining - not what was expected. We sat on 2nd floor - easy walk up the stairs & would have had a great ocean view if the sun was still up.And arrived Friday after Thanksgiving. Maybe that is why it was so empty, no waiting for table at 6 pm.Both Mahi Mahi & crab stuffed salmon looked great. The couscous, tastes like plain rice - no difference & the broccolini slaw on top of my Mahi, was very acidic, to the point it made my lips break out.The fish was ok, but my asparagus was better. Imagine that!The cocktail - a Botanics, was tasty & well presented.Wish the meal was better and had good things to report.No elevator, but first floor is ada accessible with multiple ramps to the grill, deck & restaurant.

Can't ask for anything more waterfront. The place was beautiful and right on the beach. Excellent service and was able to get seated right away on a Wednesday night. Non-alcoholic beverage options were actually awesome. Food was good. I really enjoyed my dish but a colleague of mine was a little less satisfied. Would definitely go back!

Lovely place to eat especially outside on a nice day. Great menu with lots of options. Recently tried the Carolina grit cake. It was great aside from the sweet potato puree at the bottom. That flavor just did not mesh. Hushpuppies are the best I’ve ever had, crab cakes are divine, salads are fresh, kids menu Mac and cheese is SO DELICIOUS.

Perfect spot right on the water/pier. I was staying nearby and able to walk over. I went on Friday around 430pm for an early dinner, hoping to sit further along the pier over the water, but I was unfortunately seated just outside of the main dining room. Still beautiful view of the ocean and nice sunset weather.I started with a spicy margarita and then ordered a cup of the seafood gumbo and the shrimp grits. The margarita was pretty good- had a nice kick to it, the gumbo was alright- not super flavorful, but not bad. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits, thought it was a bit pricy for the portion size, but that's to be expected.I also ordered the stumbling islander, a mix of rums with pineapple and grenadine. It was way too sweet and juicy. I couldn't even finish it.Overall, I had a decent experience here. Service was fast and friendly enough, but I would say the quality and flavors were a bit subpar, especially for the pricetag. It's a good option if you're staying in one of the nearby hotels/rentals.

Perfect beach dining. We had a party of 5 outside on the deck/pier. Maddie took excellent care of us and KJ the GM was a pleasure to meet and is doing a great job. We’ve heard about this place for years and finally made it by there and we’re so glad we did. The service was prompt and friendly, and the shrimp and mahi tacos were delicious. Highly recommend!

It was our last day in NC! We really wanted some seafood and was recommended this spot by a localWe started off with an appetizer Parmesan Truffle fries but unfortunately they were out of the truffle sauce so we just ate fries instead then me and my boyfriend got entrees, I got the Shrimp Platter and he got the Maji Tacos.The food was good but there’s was a couple things that caught my attention. I really like the fact that there was a pier that we were allowed to take out drinks out and look at the ocean view.While I was eating my food I did notice a rat walking into the drink station! Not sure if it was towards the end of the night or the fact we were outside….Anyway it was towards closing time so I asked my waiter for the bill and I did notice I was charged for a double shot. We never asked for a double in drink. I thought standard drinks were a single unless asked for a double? We got 3 drinks,1 appetizers, 2 entrees.The bill came out to $100 including tip.Overall I didn’t hate my experience here.

While on vacation, we had several meals, lunch and dinner. Food is amazing and Davin was the best! He made food and beverage suggestions for us. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very nice. We stayed close enough to walk over and took note that Davin was one of the first staff members that got there very early. He is a great member to have on the Oceanic team! See y'all next year!

Unfortunately, this is your typical beach town restaurant that relies solely on location and the constant influx of tourist and do not concern themselves with quality or value.The mixed drinks here are easily some of the worst drinks I've ever had. I asked if their margaritas were made fresh and was told yes. Then they proceed to pour it out of a tap?? I guess I have a different definition of fresh, and it was not good.Ordered the brunch burger. It was supposed to come with old bay french fries but instead arrived with home fries. I asked for the old bay fries, and when they arrived, they were cold and barely had any old bay seasoning on them. I think maybe 4 or 5 fries had seasoning while the rest were just plain. Very disappointing. The burger was pretty solid, though.Overall, it is not worth the price you pay, especially the drinks. The only reason to come here is the location. Great view of the ocean.

Came here very hungry and almost left by rolling out the door. Very good food, top notch service (Erin M. was one of the best servers I have ever met) and a great atmosphere. I do suggest having clips for the paper that the hush puppies come on so the paper doesn’t blow away and maybe converting from plastic to paper straws. Good music, more importantly not loud obnoxious music
